@MermaidPrincessRach - You can do it! Every little step counts and should be celebrated. After all, we are digging our way through a mountain just one spoonful at a time. I've been on and off the wagon all the way since Dec, but for the past couple weeks I've been determined to get back in the swing of things. I wrote on…

Tuesday goals: My super short term goal is to make it to 100 lbs lost by the end of Feb, short term goal is to make it to healthy BMI by my birthday on May 14, and long term goal is to keep up with these healthy habits for the rest of my life. I've been attending a class on self-esteem and self-acceptance and I find that…

Sunday sharing: I'm still here! I haven't been as active on MFP for the past couple months because life has been so hectic, but I'm still here and trying to make progress. My mom came to visit for nearly two weeks after Christmas and then I was away on a trip for the second week of January, so I pretty much didn't log at…

Hello everyone! I'm still hanging in here, although I haven't posted in a while. The past month was extremely hectic with me moving into my new apartment, then Christmas, then my mom visiting for two weeks. I ate out at restaurants everyday that mom was here so I stopped tracking for her visit, though I tried making the…

@MermaidPrincessRach Sending hugs to you... I have the same problem, though I have recently started going to therapy and I think that has helped some. We all deserve to feel happy, healthy, and to show gentleness toward ourselves. I struggle with feeling selfish when I focus on improving my health and myself in general but…

Good morning, everyone! I hit a pretty exciting milestone today and couldn't wait to share it here... As of this morning I am no longer obese, I'm just barely in the overweight category, at 190 lbs! I'm feeling a bit emotional because when I was morbidly obese I had kinda accepted it as my death sentence and thought I'd…

Hi everyone, I'm still here and chugging along, just unable to post often right now. Finally made it to Onederland this month. In late May - early June of this year I weighed 277 lbs and this morning I weighed 194.8. I still have a long way to goal but I feel like a whole new person already.

Hello everyone, not sure how much I will be able to log or post for a while. I left my abusive husband after he was drunk and choked me and I've been staying in a women's shelter for the past two days. My nerves have been out of control and I've barely been able to eat lately but once I feel more settled I'll try to start…

Friday fitness: The past couple weeks have been mostly cold and rainy and today is no exception. It's really putting a damper on my morning walks and a couple times this week I've had to cancel my walk or I headed out while it was clear but had to head back early since it started raining. I know this means I need to…

Friday fitness: Fitness is where I'm really struggling and I know I need to do better, so the short term goal is to start walking twice per day while the weather is still nice enough to walk outside. I've been doing better about going in the mornings but it's really not enough exercise so I think adding another walk in the…

It came off my face, upper chest area, wrists, ankles, and waist first... I can't seem to lose anything off my hips and thighs :( It's really weird to still be obese but have collar bones sticking out and bony wrists and bony ankles and feet... ugh, darn thunder thighs!

Good morning, all! I hope the week is going well for everyone :) Tuesday goals: Well, today I hit 210.2 lbs and my short term goal is to see Onederland by Christmas, which I'll definitely make as long as I stay on track with no cheating. Back in May, when I started at 277 lbs, if I told myself I could be under 200 lbs by…

@Nikion901 Your post is full of so much awesome & motivating info! Love it!! For those interested in using reddit, there's a pretty cool subreddit called MealPrepSunday with tons of ideas for making a week's worth of lunches at a time. https://www.reddit.com/r/MealPrepSunday/

Good morning everyone! I read a pretty amazing recipe idea and had to share it here. Add 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin puree (type that is 100% pumpkin with no added salt or sugar), cinnamon, and some pumpkin pie spice to 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder then blend everything together into a pumpkin spice protein smoothie!…

You can try calculating out your maintenance calories using a TDEE calculator. Here's one I really like, since it uses a few different equations and you can take an average of all those calculations - sailrabbit.com/bmr/ Also just try to make sure you're being very precise with weighing and measuring your food. Little…

@pneschich - I feel you there, I've been sticking to eating pretty much the same foods but I'm also getting bored of it. This weekend I think I'll spend some time looking for new healthy & low cal recipes and if I find anything good I'll post it here! Next time you get a craving for Mexican food you could try making…

Good morning and welcome to all the new folks! I hope you've all had a great weekend! Monday check-in: I'm feeling really frustrated because I've been on a plateau for an entire week. I think I've had some type of mild stomach flu because I felt nauseated all week, plus everyone I know has been sick lately so it's likely…

@MermaidPrincessRach - Sending big hugs to you! You are not worthless and you deserve this! Don't give up! If you see your therapist soon, please bring up these feelings so that they can help you overcome them :) We're all rooting for you! Thursday Truth: Last night I watched 3 episodes of "My 600 Pound Life" on TLC and I…

I saw a really neat website posted on a weight loss sub on reddit and thought others here might find it useful too. https://www.eatthismuch.com/ I've been feeling a little uninspired with my meals lately but I think this might give some good ideas... it's a website where you input how many calories you want to eat for the…

@trinati2001 - Thank you for the encouragement!! I can't afford a personal trainer, but I'll definitely try to set goals of going 2-3 times per week at first. I think that once it becomes more of a habit and less of a scary new thing, I won't feel so nervous. I have pretty severe social anxiety and the best way to conquer…

Tuesday goals: I'm still trying to work up the courage to go to the gym regularly. I know it's silly to feel shy about going, but I'm really struggling with that. So far I have mainly been walking for exercise, but I'm worried I'll have a lot of loose skin around my upper arms and abdomen if I don't start lifting weights…

@320sycamore - Welcome to the group! For short term goals, I did 20 lbs at a time but you could also do 10 lbs at a time. I also made other mini goals of reaching different categories of BMI, like obese class 2, obese class 1, overweight, etc. You can figure these out for your height by using a BMI calculator. When we have…

I have the same problem. :( My hips are so wide and my butt and thighs are very big too. I carry all my weight in this area, and meanwhile have no boobs at all, even when I'm fat... sigh. My pants size is 3-4 sizes larger than my shirt size. It stinks, so that's why I'm going to try cutting to an even lower weight than…

Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and start to this week! I'm very excited to post this morning because I met an important mini goal today... I weighed in at 220 lbs and at 5'7" that means I am now class 1 obese instead of class 2. When I started my weight loss journey, I was class 3/morbidly…

@pneschnich Wow that sounds incredibly delicious!! Do you have room for one more at the dinner table? @Nikion901 I hope you enjoy the recipe! It tasted much more decadent than the total calories, imo. I think any type of tomato sauce baked in the oven is so yummy, especially with a bit of melted cheese on top…

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you've all had a great week! I thawed out some chicken breasts for dinner tonight but didn't feel very inspired or enthusiastic about my usual dishes, so I decided to try something new: grilled chicken parmesan. Here's the recipe I used although I didn't follow it exactly because I didn't…

@pneschich - Try not to fret too much over it. Did you eat something salty? Have you used the washroom lately? Sometimes your body can retain a bit of water for seemingly no reason, but it should be flushed out soon! Just keep sticking to plan and that water weight will go away eventually! @NewCaddy - Will you be on…

Try to drink some water, hot tea, or hot coffee. I hope you feel better!
