  • I'm 43 pounds down but still have 60 to go. Kind of fell off the wagon over the holidays and finding it hard to get back on track. A group would be great.
  • It automatically changed roughly every 10 pound weight loss for me. I started at about 1900 calories daily and I'm currently at 1700. I haven't changed any of my goals or targets. It dropped by about 80 calories each time. Hope this helps.
  • Starting weight 265 lbs Weight 1st Sept 239.5 Weight 8th Sept 237.5 Weight 15th Sept 235.4 Weight loss so far in Sept: 4lbs On track to get the 5lbs this month and almost 30 pounds down since starting this in June. Sometimes I wish the losses were bigger but I've been steadily losing 1-2 pounds every week and I've stuck to…
  • Okay, I may be messing up peoples dates but I weigh myself once a week, same time, same place, same clothes. I find I don't get hung up on scale fluctuations and figure its accurate. Anyway, point is I weighed in today. Starting weight 265 lbs Weight 1st Sept 239.5 Weight 8th Sept 237.5 Good start to month and hoping I can…
  • I agree with the comment above. Mfp works for me because it's not a diet as such, its changing how I eat and view food. As the calorie allowance so gradually drop as my weight drops, I grow accustomed to eating that many calories so it's maintainable. Don't look at it as a diet, that's a short term view, take the long-term…
  • Yes. I did one of these before and it really helped. SW 265 CW 239.5 GW for Sept 230 Ultimate goal is 140 and assess from there. Short tern goal is to incorporate regular exercise into my day. Good luck everyone
  • You can add me. I don't post on the forums often but I do log in every day and I'm good about replying to messages, comments etc.
  • Can add me. Have very boring diary, but happy to provide support and encouragement.
  • Challenge completed. June 16th weight: 264 lbs July 17th weight: 248.5 lbs Down 15.5lbs, very happy. This challenge was great as it kinda kept me on track and accountable. Best tip I can give is to track everything. Use scales if you have them, makes tracking so much easier and just be mindful I guess. I am definitely…
  • Okay, bit late weighing in, sorry. Start weight: 264.5lb July 9th weight: 250lb Tip is to be creative about treats. Smaller portion, homemade version or offset with exercise.
  • Regarding the dry skin, I make my own scrub with brown sugar and either olive oil or baby oil. Add in few drops of essential tea tree oil also. Leaves my skin really soft and smooth and the oil forms a layer. If you put it on at the start of the shower should moisturize and protect skin from rest of shower. Plus you'll…
  • Have guests so am weighing in day early. June 16 264.5lbs June 23 257 lbs June 30 252.8lbs Down 4lbs from last week and almost 12lbs over all. Still going to stay in for rest of challenge though. Hope everyone else had good week ;)
  • Well, if anyone would like to add me, feel free. I am going to be in the house by myself this Sunday and may require encouragement to stay on track. Actually, that's probably more like I definitely will be tempted to snack and go over calorie limits.(I may have dreamt about KFC last night!)
  • Does the accountability extend to staying under calorie limit for the day? I am not great with exercise but wouldn't mind help with making sure I don't Hulk out and eat the contents of the fridge....
  • I plan for it. We both work and have two kids under the ages of 3 so Sat night is a takeaway and chill with a movie. I log the takeaway Friday night or Sat morning and then I know what I have left to work with. And just make choices. Last weekend we had a cooked breakfast which was beautiful, but I had it around lunchtime…
  • Buying one at a time is a good idea, limits potential calories. Could you maybe make lower calorie versions? Then bring one into work and leave change for vending machine at home? I am one if those people who doesn't do well with denial. I still want to be able to eat chocolate and crisps, so just bought treat size ones…
  • Yep. 34 next week, 5ft 3, looking to lose about 120 pounds. Can add me if you like?
  • Don't beat yourself up. 450 calories isn't the worst. Why not go for a walk or something and burn some of them off? If it helps at all, I am practically sitting in my hands to stop myself taking a bite of my sons ice cream. It's mint choc chip. Yum!
  • I can sympathize with what you are going through with your MIL, mine made some incredibly hurtful comments to me after our son was born. It's a difficult situation cos she is the grandmother of your child and saying anything could possibly turn into a huge family feud. It's why I never said anything. Focus on the fact that…
  • Can you scan your food packaging? If so, that usually gives calories per 100g or serving size. Work out what serving size you want to eat, eg 150g would be a serving of 1.5 if your serving size is 100g. and add to the scales until you hit that weight.
  • Okay, first to weigh in? June 17th: 264.5 lbs (ignore first post, converted incorrectly from kg, oops!) June 24tb: 257 lbs So loss of 7.5lb for me. Very, very happy with that! :) I know it was my first week and I have a lot to lose, but still! Tip. Use scanner and food scales to make sure calories are accurate. I did that…
  • See if you can get someone to join you, either exercising it eating more healthily. It makes it easier with support. I want to lose over 100lbs and have spent years making excuses but I really feel this time it will work for me. Also, log everything, makes it so much easier as you are working with exact numbers so can be…
  • Same here. My first was an emergency section that went septic and reopened 10 days post partum. That was 3 years ago. My second was another section but healed cleanly, thank goodness. However, have huge flabby hanging shelf. Have just started this and am trying to combine diet with walking/jogging with core exercises,…
  • I'm in. Hopefully this works well for me. Current weight: 255 Short term goal: 245 Long term goal. 137 Lot of work to do. But every journey starts with a single step. Tip of the week. Log ABSOLUTELY everything and do it accurately. No guesstimates :)
