GMO's are purposely changed. Other food is genetically modified randomly by UV from the sun, and other sources of mutation. I think GMOs will gain acceptance when the fungus that attacks Cavendish bananas spreads enough to make them uneconomical to grow, and the only alternative is a GMO variety.

Fibre does not have calories. The sugar is included in the carbohydrates. You do not get to subtract if you go under for your sugars. You are 224 calories over on your carbohydrates. You are 44 calories under for your proteins. You are 21 calories under for your fats.

And calories in isn't so simple either. Portions and carbs have 4 calories per gram but it makes a difference which of those two you eat.

There are not just differences in needs. There are differences in abilities to absorb calories. The most obvious example would people who do not produce lactase. There are also differences in calorie expenditure.

Do you count calories in olestra? It contains as much chemical energy as any other fat but you can not absorb it. If not then what about lactose calories in people who do not produce lactase? How do you count the extra calories burned after resistance training?

Cut way back on sodium. If you get it down to 1000 mg a day, you will probably lose a bit of weight quickly.

Try watching your sodium intake. I think a big part of the weight loss in most fad diets is a result of eating less sodium. But in any case your weight will fluctuate day to day.
