THANK YOU!! I haven't commented on it to them because I thought maybe I was missing something and didn't want to come across as the *kitten*.

@nvmomketo Gorgeous!! I grew up in Calgary and spent a lot of time in Kananaskis country.... I live in BC on a gulf island now. This is where my auntie and I walk to every Tuesday... We have lunch with an ocean view then walk to this point. I got engaged and married in this same spot so it's very special to me. <3

One word. Hunger. Fat provides satiety so we eat less. Also, if you're not eating fat, and you're not eating carbs... you're basically just eating protein, which converts to fat when you eat more than your body needs... at least that's my understanding? Correct me if I"m wrong... I'm a total newb still... ;)

Same one for me! Congrats to us!

Bring a baggie with pepperjack moon cheese and salty roasted macadamia nuts to snack on... That's what I have when my son is eating chips and popcorn at home...

This is NOT what I was expecting when I clicked on this thread... hahaha!

Okay... I'll trust you on that... I may even have to invest in one of those zoodler things...

It's more the slimy texture that gets me... *shudders* I'm okay if it's grated into something and I can't tell it's there. LOL

I have no clothes to donate... I emptied my shed and sold a bunch of junk this week, does that count? ;) I never keep old clothes that no longer fit me, so my clothes are sparse... plus I live in the country and am self employed so no need for a "wardrobe" per se. I'm actually dreading the day when nothing fits and I'm…

I wish I liked zucchini... I may have to revisit it... Hmmm...

Mobility. For the past 6 years I've been unable to be active due to an old si joint injury being constantly inflamed... I've been working with a physical therapist, RMT, chiropractor, and my doctor to get my mobility back. It's slow and painful, and some days I can't do as much as my brain wants to do (like today), but…

Instead of bread I wrap my sandwiches or burgers on lettuce leaves... or just eat the innards without... Instead of rice or potatoes I make cauliflower rice... or saute some veggies to have with my meat... Instead of regular coke I drink diet coke... or club soda with lemon... or plain water... Instead of chips or popcorn…

Starting weight (5/25/16): 301.7 lbs Week 9 weight: 287.4 lbs Week 10 weight: 284.4 lbs (-3 lbs!!) Total Lost: 17.3 lbs So today's weigh in totally took me by surprise... I woke up feeling PMS, bloated, and my back has been bothering me the last couple days so I was sure the inflamation would cause a gain... I seriously…

Tough it out Tuesday was very apropos for me today... Yesterday I helped my husband clean out our shed (took about 6 hours!), then took pics and listed about 25 things to sell and give away on a local FB group... while answering and making arrangements to meet up with people (and trying to keep everyone straight!) I also…

Ah, man! That's a GREAT one!! Looking forward to that day myself... MY NSV is that I'm wearing my wedding band today and it's not cutting off my circulation! I had it cleaned about 6 months ago but my fingers were too fat to wear it. It's so awesome wearing my sparkly ring again. Has made me smile all day...…

When I started keto I decided to make a doctor's appt and get a full panel of bloodwork done so I have something to compare to as I go... I was pretty nervous about telling my doctor what I was doing because he's been my doctor over the last 8 years and seen my weight go up and down a lot... He supported me through doing…

Cream cheese crepes... YUM!!

I tried a number of different LC forums and this group is BY FAR the best group of kind supportive people.

I was just going to start a new thread to ask basically the same question, so was happy to see it had already been asked! This is pretty much what I've done. I tracked obsessively for my first couple months of doing keto (I do love my stats), and feel like I've found my net carb sweet spot now (25-40 net carbs/day), and am…

After 5 weeks of eating eggs every morning they started making me gag. I had my fill of stir fried veggies with meat or salad with meat... I started experimenting with recipes and have been posting my version of them on a blog (http://anewlifeatforty.wordpress.com)... so far I've made cream cheese crepes (sort of like…

One of our family's favourite series too... we own the whole set of books and our library has the tv series... SO great! My husband's family is from south africa so it's extra special to his family. :) My plans today were to put away the dishes, go for a walk, and take a shower. Done, done, and done. I just spent the last…

That's mine too. I was eating around 50 net grams of carbs for the first 5 weeks, then dropped to 30 net grams for the past month. I've been quite stopped up since dropping lower, but losing weight a tiny bit faster... Upped it to 40 net grams the last few days and things are "moving" a LOT better now, so hopefully the…

I started out at over 300 lbs and I'm only 9 weeks in... I haven't lost a ton of weight, but I have PCOS and an old SI joint injury, and I'm already starting to see huge improvements to my quality of life after losing just over 14 lbs eating Keto-style... I'm WALKING without my SI joint injury flaring up!! It's been SIX…

I heard a guy say that in a youtube video that obese to beast hosts and it really resonated with me.

What is your go to exercise when you are lacking motivation? Seeing as I haven't been able to exercise regularly in SIX YEARS, being able to start walking is HUGELY motivating. I also have a fitbit and have joined some challenges with friends and my competitive side gets me dressed and outside walking everyday. What is…

Starting weight (5/25/16): 301.7 lbs Week 8 weight: 288.7 lbs Week 9 weight: 287.4 lbs (-1.3 lbs) Total Lost: 14.3 lbs Next goal... get into the 280's... Had a great week. I got a fitbit and I've been slowly working my way up... set my first goal at 1500 steps and got a short walk in 6/7 days last week, averaged over 2000…

Great idea for a thread! The morning of my 40th birthday I weighed myself and was shocked and upset to see I was over 300 lbs. I decided the next day I would start a new keto life, and I did. I started off eating 50 net carbs for the first 5 weeks, weight loss was pretty slow, I got impatient, tried another keto-style diet…
