Like others have said, going cold turkey is the worst way to quit caffeine since more likely than not you'll end up breaking and going back to the caffeinated stuff. The best approach would be to make a blend of both regular and decaf coffee/tea, and slowly shift the blend so you use more of the decaf in the blend each…

It's a lot easier when you can't stomach the food served in the restaurant. Don't get me wrong, it's great food, but being on a low salt diet for so long makes it all seem very salty to me.

Birthdays haven't been too special here for the past few years, so I treat it like any other day.

Found this earlier today. It's "sugar free" (says it has 1g carb per serving but 0g sugar) and it makes a gallon of tea.

Mine's open and I tend to tinker with recipes to make healthier versions of foods. I'm also planning on using my blog space to add the recipes I've tweaked in the near future for others to try.

Fruit is actually better for you than refined sugar since most include essential vitamins /minerals /fiber /etc. Just like everything else though, moderation is key.

It depends on when bedtime is. I work nights and usually don't get dinner until after midnight, but I also don't get to bed until after 3am. Just don't eat right before bed.

Definitely see a doctor asap about this, since one cause of foamy urine is protein in the urine, which happens due to decreased kidney function. Since there is also bleeding, then it might be caused by an infection or injury, in which case the effects can be reversed if caught and treated early enough.

Probably from a time before inflation.

How about cabbage stew? Just throw cabbage into a pot of water, add whatever spices and vegetables you want and boil until the cabbage is tender. Mom's go to veggies are onions and a couple jalapeños to impart a little heat.

I'd get a set of resistance bands that come with a door anchor. A really good set can be found for as low as $15.

Try to stick to a low sodium diet for awhile, then try a Big Mac. It's easier to not want something if you can't stand the taste of it due to how salty it tastes.

That is for up to September 30 this year. It went down $5 person starting October 1. So it would be closer to $345 now.

I'm on SNAP and I get $192/month. That's all they give you for a single person per month. The price you looked at is probably for a family of 4.

I usually get mine at the local grocery store since they often have some sort of sale on them (usually buy one get one but that usually means half price). I would avoid buying supplements at a pharmacy unless it's a hard to find supplement. They typically overinflate the prices.

Have you tried ground up corn flakes that has a bit of ms dash lemon pepper blend mixed in? I've made chicken nuggets using this method and they usually come out crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside (egg wash for the chicken then roll in the flake mix, bake at 400 F for 18 minutes).

It depends on the dietary needs of the person. Any kind of food restrictions caused by medical issues makes reaching this a lot harder. One way to save, since you have SNAP benefits, is to see if there is a local food bank program that can help (they help those with low income, and usually someone who gets SNAP is…

Dairy is also bad for those on a Phosphorus restriction diet (dairy is very high in phosphates) but that wouldn't cause bloating.

Are you also measuring inches? Weight isn't everything, especially when that weight could be muscle or water gains, especially when you're very active.
-
Are those blood pressures measured while standing? Cause people suffering from orthostatic hypotension often have normal sitting pressures but low standing ones. Sitting mine is usually 125/88 (normal) but once I stand up it can drop up to 40 points (had it drop to 80/55 once).

Even if you're a smart guy, it's impossible to know everything from the start. Instead of beating yourself up about it, do some research and a bit of trial and error to see what works. What works for one person won't necessarily work as well for you. Only way to be sure is to try it out and see if it works or not.

Yeah, I misread it and thought he said 300 calories for the exercise bike.
-
Do these machines display how many watts you're outputting? If so you can get a fairly accurate calories burned count with this formula: energy (kcal) = avg power (W) X duration (hours) X 3.6. According to that formula you were doing 111 watts of force on the elliptical and 167 watts on the bike. The elliptical one might…

While cleaning up a bit I found a pair of pants that used to be very snug back in early May. Now however:

My go-to quick snack: unsalted pretzels dusted with a blend of ranch seasoning and mustard powder. Not too much mustard powder though since it's powerful stuff.

Those are classic signs of orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure when you stand up), which causes dizzy spells when standing and cramping (mainly in the legs and hands). It's caused by an imbalance of electrolytes/lack of water in the system, which is a side effect for almost every powerful diuretic out there (in…

I have a diet soda twice a day, so there's nothing wrong with them.

It depends on if it's an exercise day or not (since my exercise class is in the morning). On exercise days I usually have protein waffles (waffle mix with a couple scoops protein powder mixed in), juice and cottage cheese. On non-workout days I have eggs instead of cottage cheese (cottage cheese has too much sodium to eat…

Is there a reason why you don't want protein supplements? You could easily add them into other dishes like pancake/waffle batter. As for real food, beef/tuna/chicken/pork/salmon/etc.
