  • I've been using food for a reward system for so long that I wouldn't know what to get myself, lol. I really like the mani/pedi idea and I've been wanting a Fitbit, so I think that's a good reward.
  • I'm nervous and scared about the surgery. It's all of the unknown things that are causing my fears. Praying all will turn out fine. Good luck to you.
  • I hope all goes well! I'm so happy for you!
  • Hopefully I'll be getting sleeved within the next month or so. Feel free to add me
  • Heaviest Weight: 284 Current Weight: 280 Goal Weight: 180 (or less) Current pants size: 24 Current shirt size: 3X Current age: 35 I started my weight loss journey back in June of 2016 by attending a WLS seminar held at my local medical center. Soon after, I saw my doctor and received the referral to go my weight loss…
  • Thanks! Good luck to you too! I started this journey last June, so almost a year ago. Hopefully I'll be close to my goal in one year from now.
  • I was just started on levothyroxin, as I have apparent hypothyroid issues going on. It would explain some of my weight and energy problems. Good luck!
  • My NSV is that I passed the psychological evaluation required by insurance and now I'm one step closer to surgery
  • I've been MIA for a bit. I was looking at getting sleeve surgery in January, but ended up getting pregnant in October which resulted in a loss in late November. Kinda put my weight loss on hold as I ate my emotions and gained back the ten pounds I lost. Ugh. Anyway, my recent NSV was calling my weight loss clinic and…
  • Acceptance of everyone, no matter their looks, is a nice thought. However, I think that by accepting obesity as healthy is kind of like saying "Go ahead, keep gaining weight. You'll be fine." It should be "I accept the way you look and I'm not judging. Let's give you the tools and the support to get to a healthier weight."…
  • Thank you for all of the positive comments. I'm so ready for this. Scared, but ready!
  • I can't wait to be where you are. Congratulations!
  • I recently went through my dresser and bagged up all of the clothes that I don't currently wear. They will be too big, so might as well make some room for new stuff :) I have some smaller size jeans (that I saved from a few years ago) that I'm looking forward to wearing!
  • Thank you all for your insightful replies! I'm feeling nervous about being able to care for my little children right after surgery. I have a 3 and 5 year old that require a lot of attention and supervision. How long did it take you all to heal? Me either. I think this is what scares me the most. I've never even had a…
  • The type of weight-loss procedure to get it totally up to you. Definitely do your research well on all of the procedures before you decide. I've heard mixed reviews about the lap-band (mostly negative as compared to other options). I started out by attending a weight-loss seminar that was being held at my local hospital.…
  • 1. Try to get to the gym at least 3 days a week. 2. On days that I don't make it to the gym, take a walk around the neighborhood. 3. More water! 4. Prepare more meals at home/better meal planning. 5. More salads with protein. 6. Try a Zumba class? 7. Eat more healthier snacks/reduce carbs
  • I don't know what my problem is this month. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut of zero motivation and my weight loss had plateaued. Same goals for next month as I posted for this month. Next month I've got to get my a** in gear!
  • I'm a mother of two kids and I've been on a weight loss program since June. I'm trying to get to a healthy weight, because I am also sick of being the overweight mom. Plus, life is so much harder when carrying around all the excess weight! So far I've lost around 15 pounds since starting my program. Losing weight is not…

  • Abe would be my guess for taking Lucille "like a champ", because you know he would have. It breaks my heart because he's my favorite character on the show.
  • You wouldn't want to see my diary, as I haven't had surgery yet, but I am interested to what the post-op diet is for you. How long were you on liquids? When did you start more solid foods? Congrats on 15 pounds so far!
  • During my marriage, I got fat and my ex-husband got even fatter (he tipped the scale at 350, me at 280). It was getting out of control and I knew something had to be done. We started a weight loss program and he lost about 20 pounds before he started going back to old habits and sneaking Burger King and pizza while he was…
  • I found out at my appointment today that I could be having my sleeve surgery as soon as the last part of November. My dietitian and nurse at my clinic have both had WLS and they have had great results, but honestly I'm feeling nervous the closer it approaches.

  • Final update: SW: 277 (July 8) CW: 268.9 (September 12) GW: 257 (September 12) I didn't quite make the goal of 20 pounds, but I'm happy with my 8.1 pounds lost
  • That is strange how some places say no carbonation and others are OK with it. My dietitian is really against it and she had me thinking I could never drink it again.
  • I have over 100 pounds to lose. I started my weight loss program in June and I've lost around 13 pounds so far. It's a struggle, for sure! HW: 282 CW: 269 GW: 150 Feel free to add me
  • I was the same way, so for a long time I avoided going to the gym. One day I came to the realization that the other people working out are just doing their own thing, and they likely don't even notice me or care that I'm there. Once you realize that too, there will be nothing can stop you!
  • My dietitian told me that having carbonated beverages such as soda after surgery would expand the new stomach/pouch and that wouldn't be a good thing. I don't think a sip here or there would expand it that much, but I don't know for sure. I pretty sure that I will be staying away from carbonation as I don't want to take…
