Jess I find if you cook the pancakes on lower heat they tend to get done and taste better. I've toiled around with the carbquik quite a bit and I love it. The biscuits are very yummy when warm. The key to really anything I've noticed is lower heat longer time seems to always work better as it tends to burn or have a…

Thanks for the posts everyone. The past 9 weeks here on MFP have been great and now 72lbs lost I feel really good that this time things are going to stick. No more dieting for me. The changes I've made in my life have been very good so far and losing this weight has made me stronger than I ever thought I could be again.…

I've not been updating this post much but now I've lost 72lbs and I'm at 445.lbs and am on track to lose most my weight in a year. Thanks for all the new friends and the ppl who have believed in me. You all are and have been amazing.

Got some Pretty awesome news that the scale kicked out...Lost 12lbs...crazy right? So far down 47lbs in 5 weeks...I know at some point the brakes will hit once my body starts to level off in a normal calorie burn but for now I'm enjoying what I see...and most certainly how I feel!

Today...I really started digging into music...things that can keep your spirit up and get you moving...inspiration comes in all forms and I really love music...I've gone back to the times in the 80's where I'd sit listening to the radio to try and grab that song I just had to have to make my Mix Tape complete...man was I a…

@Mamawrain You dance your butt off girl! At the end of the day it's all about how you are feeling and a crock-pot is a GREAT idea because you burn much less stuff and well it will save you $$$ on batteries...those suckers aren't cheap! I attribute a lot of who I am as a person to my Mom. I was the oldest of 3 kids and She…

@painterm81 Man...surgery...I've been so far really lucky...I started to feel like I would be lucky to see 45...but I still had the weight...and then one day I was like...I am not giving up...something just "clicked" and that was about 5 weeks ago this monday and I've felt so much better...I haven't eliminated the carbs…

I've never been super crazy about soda...I found I really only drink the stuff with like Pizza or Mexican food etc...but after logging a Lg. Dr. Pepper 30 days ago...and seeing that 100 carb poison in my list...yeah it really wasn't hard to put it down completely. I didn't replace it with anything diet either...heard my…

@solieco1 You are most certainly strong carrying dogs...heck I just said dog food but you just took it up a notch! Go you!

@kittygonzalez3511 And the funny thing is healthy doesn't have to be expensive...it's just that it's a huge social shift that companies would have to make for it to be mass marketable to the consumer. Don't get me started lol, I could go on for days about that kind of stuff.
-
@mzsierra528 You got this though. I read your post too and I know where you are at. Don't give up..You have so much to be thankful for and you are strong. Look where you have been and where you are today. You got this!
-
@mzsierra528 Wow 195! That is so awesome...30lbs is alot but look how far you've come. That has to feel great knowing you've accomplished so much... I use a few things to help keep me motivated...and for me it's been the dog food scale...haha before ppl think I'm crazy I think how big a 50lb bag of dog food is and that's…

@solieco1 Thanks for all that great feedback. I'm so ready to do this. I did the diet rollercoasters before and got down to the 300lb area..never under it  but I felt and thought I looked pretty ok for the way I carried the weight. What am I talking about...thinking how I felt at 500lbs I felt freaking amazing at…

@kittygonzalez3511 Hey! MFP didn't have a friend request waiting for me so I sent you one. Thanks so much for the great feedback and support. I really hesitated on posting as I've said before I'm not the "social butterfly" but I'm really glad I did. So many here are so supportive and are struggling with the obesity…

@JoenDeb1958 I've changed a lot in my life these past 30 days to not be the over 500lb man I once was and I've done that! I think changing my food was actually pretty easy. I know for some doing that is a huge task. My next 30 days I'm working on changing how I think and today I thought this. For all of those who suffer…

@kittygonzalez3511 Thanks Kitty for the great reply! Appreciate the kind words and hope to help others as much as the help and support has been given to me. I'm glad I posted and kick myself for not reaching out sooner.

@MarkusDarwath Ah ok I see what you were saying and yeah the sugar alcs can spike some but not others, I'm on the same page with you now. I'm not diabetic...yet but I've had some hovering numbers that worried me so I try to find ways to make sure I don't cross that threshold.
-
@lindarpolk Thanks so much for the encouragement. I can't wait to hit that first 50 mark and i love your pic...it's so true and a great way to face things.
-
@mamawrain Thanks! This will probably sound incredibly lame but hey since I've admitted to be a mountain of a person then I guess I can admit anything right...I learned my cooking from my Mom. I adore her in every way and I want to be the one thing she doesn't have to worry about. I'm sure she worries about burying her…

@Markusdarkus I was thinking about trying those Mission tortillas. I've been using Aldi's flatbread like flat out wraps for things like burritos or instead of sandwich bread. Seems to work out well lots of fiber in them. I heard of Mama Lupes tortillas too on a few low carb sites. Sorry about the fiber thing…

Yeah I know what you mean...Show me a good Ribeye and I can easily put away 20oz of steak! I'm not so bad on the fats, but sometimes the sweets kill me. I limit my carbs but not eliminate them. Doing probably around 100 a day or so. Most of those aren't net though as I just track carbs. I guess I always really wonder when…

@brians_girl_89 Thanks! It's been a challenge and can't wait to do 15 to 20 more so I can hit my first goal!
-
Thanks @ThorneDust I'm really normally not so shy...meet me 10 years ago and I was the life of the party but now it's a different story where I let my weight trap me and make me into something I really am not. I know I've trapped myself and only I am to blame but I'm starting to change all that now and I'm determined to…
-
@eburns55555 It most certainly does feel like you are moving a mountain when you are at this size, but what I really can't believe at least for me is cutting those carbs down has helped energy levels so much..I know it's not just the carbs, but the sugars, calories, fat etc...but just with my focus being on carbs it's…
-
@Edollah Your message really hits home because I tell myself that stuff now. I've been up and down..never at 500lbs but at 300lbs...I know I'm starting way behind the gate on this one and it will take time, hard work and I'm sure to make mistakes along the way. I'm really strong now and have fought off most cravings over…

@luluinica So great to hear you've completed your journey! Being vigilant like you said is key. Thank you for offering to cheer me on. On some days I'm sure I'll need it. It's always good to to have that extra voice to push you to stay strong. Thanks again for the kind words.

@jdelaroy Great information. I have some pictures taken so I can gauge the differences and I don't want to be the take a photo every day person but I think the 30 day thing is a great idea. Also on the measurements I need to get a tape, time to take a trip to Amazon or hey better yet I'll set a goal to get off my butt and…

Being honest with myself was probably the hardest thing I had to do. Way harder than cutting out calories or carbs. I look at people who really struggle with difficult challenges in life such as cancer, or losing a loved one, or other serious diseases that they can't really control. I thought to myself ..self I said..You…
-
@OhMsDiva You know I've kind of felt the same way I'm not super nuts about eating tons of food, but I guess as I aged I never stopped eating like I was the chubby kid at 230lbs and 19. Being active in my 20's mostly kept me at my weight but a few changes in life like a terrible unloving marriage I stayed way to long in and…

@mamawrain Thanks for the encouragement! If you ever need a laugh then I'm that guy...well most days I am. I warn you though I can be a bit of a nerd, being in IT and all that I know how the Geek Speak and all that jazz. Each day I wake up I've been practicing on my first thoughts of the day are about how I will succeed.…
