You look slightly overweight, right on the cusp of a normal range. I have no idea what you weigh, partly because I have no idea how tall you are. But you don't look noticeably heavy, so I'm not going to worry about the number.

It is. The reason we have a flu season in the winter may be from a combination of factors, but it seems to be primarily because the virus does better in a cool, dry environment: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/05/health/research/05flu.html As others have said, getting enough sleep can also help.

Unlike the US, in Canada, "natural" is a regulated term. Salt probably counts as "an added... mineral nutrient." http://www.inspection.gc.ca/food/labelling/food-labelling-for-industry/method-of-production-claims/eng/1389379565794/1389380926083?chap=2

That's true, and it's because "natural" is not a regulated term. They could put literally anything in the jar and call it "natural", and there's not a thing the FTC can do about it.

"Vacation" and "woes" are two words that should not go together. The fact that you've put them together suggests you're worrying about this way too much. You're not going to set yourself back that much no matter what. Just go, have fun, and don't worry.

Generally speaking, the main difference is that regular peanut butter has had the peanut oil removed and replaced with a less expensive vegetable oil, and has a sweetener added. Often the replacement oil is also hydrogenated to keep it from separating. Natural peanut butter will retain the natural peanut oil -- which is…

Practice in self-control from my religious days. The point of religious fasting isn't to impress God; it's to strengthen the control of the mind/nous/soul over the body. So in certain seasons, and certain times of the week, I just got used to feeling a little hungry or denying myself something I really wanted. Now, I…

No. But then, expensive fitness trackers don't really work either for tracking anything other than heart rate. http://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2017/05/fitness-trackers-accurately-measure-heart-rate-but-not-calories-burned.html

Mint chocolate chip. This is probably true for me, as with Girl Scout Thin Mints, for nostalgic reasons, since I'm not otherwise crazy about that combination of flavors. Were I coming to ice cream with a blank slate, I might prefer butter pecan.

https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/boost-your-immune-system/ https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/more-boosting/ I'm afraid that if you're going to be gathering together with a lot of people from all corners of the realm, you're going to encounter strange virus strains your body hasn't dealt with before, and you're likely to…

The guy who's flexing in those photos is NOT chubby. Congratulations! You look like you've been lifting with a good amount of success, so you should probably pay less attention to BMI than if you were scrawny like me. That much muscle will put your BMI into the overweight range even if your body fat % is fairly low.

The fluid ounce is a measure of volume, not weight. You measure it with a cup or spoon, not a scale. Now, 1 fl. oz of water indeed weighs about 1 avoirdupois oz, which is why the measures have the same name, but not everything has the same density as water. And volume is a very unreliable way of measuring solids, even…

This is why God gave us middle fingers.

I left for a 2-week vacation the day after you posted your OP. I stopped logging, paid no attention to what I ate, made sure I got dessert at least once a day, did quite a bit of walking but also spent entire days sitting down, watching a sporting event, and drinking beer, and only managed to get a run in 2 out of the 12…

They're wrong. Edit: Although I should clarify I was talking about someone you know well. Doing this with random strangers is inappropriate.
-
What makes you think that's acceptable?
-
Having a sensitive, quiet talk with someone about an issue that may be adversely affecting their health and quality of life is not fat shaming. Calling them a fat*kitten* is exactly fat shaming.

I just got back from a 2-week vacation where I stopped logging entirely, paid no attention to what I ate apart from making sure I got at least one dessert every day, and ran what felt like only a portion of my usual distance only 2 days out of the 12. Yeah, there were days when I did a lot of walking, but there were also…

By my calculations, you're getting a bit more than 2,000 cal/day. I don't know how you're calculating your breakfast burrito, but when I add it up using the USDA database it comes to 667 calories, assuming the hot sauce is negligible. (8 4 oz ham at 70 cal/oz, 3 extra large eggs at 80 cal each, 1 48g flour tortilla at 147…

Special occasions are special. I wouldn't call them cheating. Part of the problem with our modern eating habits is that we eat all the time the way people used eat only on special occasions. If we successfully control our eating at all other times, what on earth could possibly be cheating about a celebratory feast when…

About 4.1 cal/min for men and 3.1 cal/minute for women. See http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0079342 for the details. Their test subjects averaged 22 years old, so if you're older you likely burn a tad less. But I have to say, if you're having sex just for the calorie burn, I suggest you…

It will never give you less than 1200. Your goal loss rate might be kind of aggressive if that's what it's giving you.

200 cal for a serving of fried rice and 500 for the chicken is probably reasonable. Depending on what others ingredients they use in the chicken that might actually be kind of high.

Except what you're describing isn't the Imperial system, it's the American system. The two systems are nearly identical, but measurement of fluid volume is the one area where they differ significantly. American fluid ounces are larger than Imperial fluid ounces; an Imperial fluid ounce therefore weighs less than an…

Me too! My favorite is the King of Diamonds. What's yours?

That's as may be, but he mods are nobody's friend. :#

Even worse: Starch itself is a polysaccharide consisting of bonded glucoses, so chemically speaking it's loaded with sugars. It just doesn't taste sweet because of the resulting molecular structure.

Preferentially on-topic for the forum, I would think. And we can't expect everyone will agree with what we say.

I hit my final weight loss target yesterday and switched to maintenance without changing my exercise habits. That got me a bowl of ice cream last night to ensure I ate back at least half my exercise calories. Fat and sugar are yummy! Still didn't quite eat enough by the counts, but I was feeling kinda full by then.

Same for me. When what has in fact happened is that I've lost the fat that used to surround them, so I look more cut and veiny.
