  • I actually do have Medicare (and Medicaid) because I'm on Disability. I had a stroke 10 years ago (because of A-fib), kept trying to work, and I just can't keep up with stuff. Even simple desk jobs end up being too much, if I try to go every day of the week, eventually my heart MAKES me rest by freaking out and putting me…
  • I love lunch meat, but it's got a lot of sodium. I'm starting to try choosing other brands than the one I used to get. It's challenging, cuz I keep wanting a certain flavor... and "honey smoked turkey breast" doesn't seem to have a low sodium option! I have heart failure, and retain fluid easily. My feet don't swell, it…
  • All year: volunteer for a local no-kill animal rescue... I mostly clean and care at the cat shelter Winter: stay in bed with an electric blanket and my kitties and SLEEP Warm weather: fishing, repairing small engine stuff (gas only, electric engines cofuse me LOL)
  • I replaced the batteries in mine, and figured I had to recalibrate it somehow. Looked online, couldn't find anything about it. Weighed a box of cat litter labeled 19 lbs, got 19.6. ....not sure the cardboard box it's packed in weighs over half a pound?? But when I weigh myself, it seems right (72.4 the last couple days).…
  • Yesterday was the first time I went over 2000. Usually I get 1600-1800. I had 3/4 of my Boost & milk mix, but had to stop because of the tummy upset. The milk/Carnation and pudding I BARELY finished. Dinner was technically 2 meals...I ate a taco and some soda, took a break for an hour, then had half a burrito supreme and…
  • Yeah, I have Boost High Calorie (530 per 8oz). Insurance pays for it, and even with 2 a day I'm still barely getting 2000 calories with trying to eat smaller stuff every couple hours.
  • My family doctor is who gave me the Reglan, which did a LITTLE bit to help my appetite, but absolutely piddly squat for the nausea - which is my bigger annoyance. I have wondered if it's my stomach. I know it's not mental, or an eating disorder... I LOVE food, I WANT to gain weight...I know I look horrible as a walking…
  • Yes if you're drinking a lot of water, you would need to get enough sodium to be stable. Really, the best thing to do is ask your doctor what to do for YOUR situation. My reason for BP medication is complicated, not a typical case like most people. I was just trying to give general advice :)
  • this is my walking trail, in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains
  • Yup, in the summer. In winter I drink hot chocolate that's 150 calories, with whole milk, so it's 300 calories per cup :)
  • Lowering your sodium intake to 1500-2000mg daily helps with lowering blood pressure. Also, stay WELL hydrated. Swelling of your lower extremities is usually a sign of water retention, which can be by having too much sodium, and/or your heart not working properly. I'm on the low sodium, 6+ glasses of fluid per day, and…
  • For the record, regular ice cream only has 120 calories per serving (usually half cup). I noticed to get the higher amount, I gotta spend more $ and get fancy like gelato or H aagen Dasz thst has 250+ per serving ... and those I'd rather just eat by themselves, as they taste to good to mix up with other junk LOL
  • I'm trying to gain weight... I need all the calories I can get ;)
  • I only use one serving, which on most jars is 2 tablespoons (not sure how many grams that is). For the PB I'm currently using, that's 180 calories. I should probably switch to Nutella, since 2 tbs is 200 calories
  • Mrs Dash is awesome! I'm trying to gain weight, so everything I use you wouldn't want LOL For fresh/raw veggies, I like Ranch dressing (you could use Lite), or hummus. Sabra brand hummus is good...I like the Roasted Pine Nut.
  • I COULD eat it separate. Kinda just want to have a quick all-in-one thing, though. Usually when I'm at the end of the day and need to catch up before bed. It's 8pm, and I'm still supposed to have another 850 calories to meet my MINIMUM goal. This happens all the time :/
  • They steam the milk at 120 Fahrenheit, instead of the usual 160. Meat cooks at 160...guess what your lips and tongue are? ;) I like to be able to drink it right away, instead of waiting for it to cool down so I don't burn my mouth
  • Salted caramel hot chocolate: whole milk, 120f, whipped cream Chocolate filled croissant, warmed. I only go in the winter, if I get a gift card at the holidays. Too poor to spoil myself.
  • I love their food! But yes, too expensive. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I want a real meal, like from Apple Bees or Sizzler. I only easy at 5 guys if somebody else is paying, or with gift card (that somebody else paid for)
  • 7/1 0.26 miles 10 minutes Stopped to rest 3 or 4 times. Gonna remember to bring my oxygen next time and try to do the whole 10 minutes in one go, without my chest feeling like it's going to implode LOL
  • 7/1 0.26 miles 10 minutes I forgot it was July already! Didn't have my oxygen machine, had to stop and rest 3 or 4 times. I'm only going to walk on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for now. I'll bring my oxygen next week, and see if I can do the full 10 minutes without my chest feeling like it's going to implode at 4…
  • I keep my phone with me always :) I'll look into the app, thanks!
  • I love the taste of peppermint, But it didn't do anything for me, tummy wise. I tried tea and natural oil candy drops.
  • Is it Bundaberg Ginger Beer? That stuff is awesome. ...but expensive (for me)
  • I really need to start walking. Can we do time, instead of distance? I have various health issues... I can start with 15 minutes, and try to up from there. I don't really have a way to measure distance. ... maybe use Google Earth ruler feature? LOL
  • Milk. A gallon lasts me about 3 days. ...and yes, I live alone. I love milk! Next is snack foods like granola bars, Chex mix, pop tarts, etc.
  • Well, I'm trying to gain, not lose, but I still need some accountability! LOL SW: 72.6 lbs GW: 95 CW: 72.6 I just got this app the other day, so I'm literally starting all fresh!

  • Nah, everything I read about marijuana says it can cause heart rhythm problems... I have enough of those already LOL (born with severe heart defects) But if I could, I would. Might help with my back pain, too. I have narcotics, but they make me nauseated also! Last time I took Hydrocodone in December, and threw up a…
  • What things will actually work, and what things won't. Mint supposedly helps soothe tummy, but doesn't for me. I guess I'm trying ginger next :) I prefer to do research and use science evidence based things, instead of "woo" and old wives tales LOL
  • That's what the Reglan was for. It didn't really work. It just emptied my stomach so I was more ready to eat again in 2 hours instead of still feeling full (another problem I have!)
