Check the salt entry you used against the USDA value. People sometimes put things in and if you differ from the units they use it gives you completely insane values.

Even if you stumble and eat something with too many calories or whatever, it won't blow your diet. You get to keep all the good changes you've made, and you can just do better the next day. Good luck!

A crutch is not optional when you have a broken leg and need to ambulate; also you can pound a nail in effectively with any number of things besides a hammer. I must say I didn't know the whole goal of this site/app was to get in tune with anything. I thought it was to help people lose weight/get fit. I use this tool to…

Used to be a lot of stuff had ephedra in it, especially weight loss supplements and power shakes and things. Then they banned it because people had heart attacks. Since that experience I'm kind of a freak about supplements or drinks or powders and refuse to take them unless I know exactly what's in them, and no,…

I stopped reading at "mucus-causing, disease-fueling cocktail." That's a little too overwrought for me. I'm supposed to drink 8 oz of milk per day, for the calcium and vitamin D. Regular milk has carbs, cream doesn't have the D. Cashew milk (at least the kind I buy) has no carbs and is fortified with... calcium and vitamin…

I also love wine and spirits (beer too, but that's a once-in-a-while thing right now). A glass or two of wine or rum or vodka at the end of the day is lovely. Sometimes I add sparkling water to make it last a bit longer. I like the idea about logging it first thing in the morning. It's all about fitting it into your…

Cool thread. So many morning people! Second shift home worker here, now inspired to look at my day and maybe make it a little more schedule-ish. Usually take doggies for short walks during the day and a long walk after work, try to get in some yoga and a baby upper body strength training routine, but often forget about the…

I'm not sure this is true. Different antibiotics target different species, and there's not one that's effective against every single species. It will surely change up the mix, but it's not eradicating the whole thing and starting fresh. I don't think changing your gut flora would cure diabetes, but I have read some…

Firstly, g(s) just means gram(s) as in gram singular or grams plural. Secondly, a lot of the entries, even the verified ones, are inaccurate and/or give you crazy values on some units. When I can't get an accurate one, I make my own, as stated above, either using the label or looking up the USDA values.

A lot of the initial weight loss is water, no lie. Doesn't negate the fact that LCHF makes it pretty easy for me to maintain a deficit and gives me more energy to be active, so I keep losing and it can't all be water. As for the 11 lb water gain on refeed, not surprised. When I overcarb I retain water like crazy, and also…

I tend to go clockwise because the whole setup seems to be beckoning the other way and I'm contrary, but I'll work counterclockwise due to peer pressure. ;) In front of you as you go in, and to the right: Flowers Deli (with sushi kiosk and olive bar) Bakery on the right, cheese on the left Produce (including specialty…

That's not cognitive-behavioral therapy. That's a combination of affirmations and should-ing. I can say over and over again that super carby food won't make me want more super carby food, but that won't make it true. I can do six shots of rum and repeat over and over that I'm not drunk, but I'll still be drunk. Wishing…

I totally believe in depriving myself of things that aren't good for me. That's why I quit smoking and that's why I don't eat super carby food at this time. I don't like the results I get from doing those things, kind of like how I don't drink 12 margaritas on a work night even if I want to, because I don't want to deal…

A Whopper is 770 calories, I looked it up. The last time I ate at Whataburger my burger and fries were close to 2000 calories, which is why I don't eat at Whataburger these days. The only thing I could find at BK that was less than 400 cals was a single order of fries. Even the fish was over 400. MFP does not tell you that…

I thought she meant bananas from 7-11. Heh. I'm not sure what the purpose of the post is, though. Coming on a forum for general diet and weight loss help to post how you eat so much and still lose weight seems... off.

There's a certain span of time when I get the munchies, so I try to be in bed before then.

I read a little about paleo/primal when researching diets, but they seemed to think I had unlimited funds to buy all this super pricey food. Since I don't, I didn't even bother to go further. Since then I've read a few things that make me question the facts on it, but it's really academic since I have no plans to go in…

As a young thing I answered an ad in the paper for a job, turned out to be an elderly couple selling Herbalife. I'd never heard of it and stupidly went to a thing, one of those rah-rah rallies, where some dude gave me an "herbal drink" in which the herb was ephedra, and I got the hard sell while I was completely high.…

You're gonna do what you do, and that's cool. I mean when I get to a maintenance level, maybe I'll stop weighing and logging and maybe I won't. It can be irritating to do it all the time, and I admit that when I want to freestyle cook and just throw things in and experiment it kind of sucks, but nothing will ever kill the…

I completely admit to being obsessive about weighing and logging because I'm an obsessive person, and I'm always going to be obsessed with something or other, so it might as well be that! LOL.

There is a disconnect somewhere. My appetite is chancy on low carb, and I have very low calorie days, but they always average out over the week to at least 1200. I honestly don't see how you can be walking around and coherent on 500 cals a day and then swinging down to 200, and you almost certainly are not getting all the…

I work second shift, and I find that counting when I wake up as the "beginning" of the day and when I go to bed as the "end" of the day works best for me. I find it disheartening to wake up without a clean slate.

Anyone who literally says to me, "Choose between me and X!" has really already made a choice, and I'm not into ultimatums, so my answer to that would be to wave goodbye. HOWEVER, there is a difference between, "It's fitness or me!" and, "I really can't handle you spending six hours a day at the gym." It may sound like the…

I love tea, very few kinds I don't like (green being one of them). I have so much tea y'all, it doesn't even fit in the cabinet. My son inherited my love of tea. I bought him a gourd thing to drink his yerba mate out of. Heh. Anyway, since I love tea, one time I decided to try this Lacey Somebody Dieter's Tea. Remember…

Plain old green cabbage. It's good.

I pay attention to macros and stay pretty focused on meeting the fat goal and carb limit, because fat keeps me satisfied and carbs make me want to eat more. Which is why I do LCHF. To me macros are about satiety more than anything else. I really need to recalculate my protein, though, because the way my percentages are set…

Hey thanks for this! Never occurred to me before.

We have one and I love it. I don't use the syrups much, don't like the taste. A squeeze of lime or lemon works for me. Wish I knew how to get some minerals in it but it's great for when I don't have the cash for Topo Chico.
-
Nope, not about me or anyone else. Guess I wasn't very good at making it generic. I just feel like a lot of people get accused of making excuses when they're going flat out like a lizard already and really can't do more.

Rats! Thanks.
