I'd log it as physical activity since it's only on the weekends not daily. But see what everybody else on here says. I'm a newbie so what do I know? As for your hunger during your shift can you pack a nutritious snack like a piece of fruit or some veggies to fill you without adding a lot of calories?

In the beginning, I logged my water. I needed that check to insure I drank at least 8 glasses. As I have gone more used to drinking water, I stopped being so anal about logging it. I log every other liquid separately, especially the ones with calories but I do log my tea mostly because I put honey in it which has sugar &…

You wrap your head around the idea that fitness / exercise is boring but necessary so you do it anyway. Even 1/2 hour. Watch TV or listen to music while you do it. Sneak in some movement too. Do squats when you load the dishwasher, the washing machine & the dryer. I do leg lifts while I brush my teeth (It helps to assure…

We're the same age. My diary is open but it's more of a what not to do. That said, I am determined to be able to proudly wear a bikini on my next birthday.

First what do you want to do? If you don't want to lose weight, tell him to take a flying leap. Since you said you want to be healthier, define that for yourself. Then recognizing that he was trying to do the right thing, but screwed it up, lovingly & calmly talk to him. Start by telling him you appreciate that he wants to…

I'm not worried per se. I do know I ate & drank a lot -- sometimes almost 3,000 calories at the last 2 picnics. About 1,000 calories were alcohol. Again, it's certainly not an everyday thing & it will be combined with movement but if anybody had some strategies, I'd be thrilled to hear them.

Don't go too crazy in the beginning. Deprivation is a sure way to fail. Stick to your calories. Move. Find what works for you & then stick to that. Although I go over my calories more often then I get under 1200, my nutrition has improved tremendously. A true lifestyle change is about baby steps. You didn't add those…

I have an open diary but it's more a cautionary tale about what not to do.

Invest in a slicer. Make your own turkey breast & roast beef. Slice them for your sandwiches

Quantity a/k/a portion size is important. You can eat whatever you want, you just can't eat too much of it. Especially in America, we have no concept about correct portions because we supersize everything.

I count 1/2 of my shopping walking, not all of it because there is so much shopping, stopping, trying on etc. but it is movement so it does count for something.
-
Alcohol for me too. I can say no to food but the empty booze calories get me every time.
-
Go to another gym or do what you have been doing & work out when you have the gym to yourself. Do not tell your boss that you prefer not to discuss work at that moment.
-
If you are hungry, eat the exercise calories back. If you are not there is no need to consume calories. The key to weight loss is not to consume more then your TDEE but you need about a 500 calorie per day deficit to lose 1 pound per week

If it fits in your budget try it out There is no contract. You do need to give them written notice before the 10th of the month to end your contract or it will automatically renew. So for example if you try to cancel on September 19th you will still get stuck paying for October. But at $10 per month for a plain membership…

Excellent. I am so jealous. I want to be a size 6 again.

Look at everything you learned. Your eyes have now been opened. It is shocking but from here you go forward with the ability to make better choices because you now have more info.
-
As I have progressed through this journey I have learned three very important things 1. Junk doesn't fill me up & keep me satisfied; healthier choices do leave me fuller 2. Austerity -- being told I can't have something doesn't work for me. But I have learned to eat more sensible portions of things for example 12 chips (1…

Don't work. What I needed to give up was large portions. That is where my problem was. When I started learned what a proper portion should be I was shocked. I still eat chips but now I eat 1 portion -- 12 chips -- not half the bag. I still eat ice cream but 1/2 cup not a giant bowl full. When I finally stopped drinking…

I eat them back but I'm at 1200 so I almost have to; I do tend to manually input a smaller number (at least a 10% reduction) then what MFP says I earned. I would eat some but not all of yours back to be on the safe side. Don't feel like you have to eat. If you are not hungry, don't eat.

I'm supposed to be on 1200 calories per day. I'm over more then under but as long as I'm within 100 - 150 I don't get too excited if I know I was being good. Yesterday I had ice cream & popcorn. I was only 26 calories over. Austerity doesn't work for me. I have lost at least 9 pounds in two months, with lots of indulging…

I make a Mexican lasagna that has a lot of veggies & beans in it. You substitute tortillas for the noodles & salsa for the tomato sauce. The one I made last night had refried beans, a can of black beans, a can of corn (but you could use fresh), salsa with lots of tomatoes & a layer of thinly sliced fresh yellow squash &…

I agree with a lot of what has been said. If you can't just have a little -- like 2 cookies -- don't keep the stuff in the house. At the very least get it off the counter and up on a high shelf. I was always a sweets junk food junkie -- cake, cookies, ice cream, & gallons of regular Pepsi etc. We still have ice cream in…

Although I can't speak to the person's credentials take the time to go to the classes offered by PFs resident "trainer." Mine is pretty good & he has taught me a lot of things. I do the PF 30 minute circuit using the red light green light system and doing the steps in between. I try to do that once per week. I do one of…

I love the brownies. They taste like real brownies to me, not chalky at all. Satisfied my chocolate cravings, didn't add much to my calories & gave me much needed fiber. A great deal all around as far as I was concerned.
-
None of this is about your weight. It's all about him being awful. Remember that. Console yourself with one piece of chocolate if you must but then think about the fact that the best revenge is living well. Get out there, diet, exercise & do what you have to do to make yourself happy. When you are in a better emotional…

I think that is excellent. Good for you. Nobody's laughing. The Olympics are over. You aren't being judged on time & this isn't a competition. You are out there exercising which is the only important thing! If you enjoy an exercise do it. Don't worry if it's not somebody's else favorite.

Since this is your 1st day here, you have to give it some time. Read the stickies that RoxieDawn pointed out to you. Start logging. The logging alone is eye opening. When you get the hang of that you will realize how important measuring can be. Portion control is key. Pay attention for two weeks to see if you are in fact…
