  • Yes, this happens to me all the time.
  • This isn't a physical issue, this is a psychological issue. I think counseling is the best option, as a recovering anorexic I will tell you that not being accepting of your body will not improve even if you lose more weight. Having people online tell you you look good, or that losing more will make you too skinny won't…
  • I keep my goal set at 20/40/40 carbs/fat/protein. I almost never make this, as my vegetable intake alone on a 1200 calorie diet accounts for about 25% of my total calories. Realistically I can do 30% carbs, which leaves me just enough for vegetables/fruits and one 1/4 of a whole wheat bagel in the morning (sometimes some…
  • Peanuts are a great source of protein and travel easily. Also, a serving of Tuna is 2 ounces (2 per can), so that is 3 cans of tuna a week, which is actually more than I can even stomach (when I was pregnant with my first the limit was 1 can per week). Beans, boneless/skinless chicken breasts and some fish are great…
  • I would suggest dropping down to 2 miles and adding strength training, and maybe cross training instead of one of your run days. When I was training for a marathon I was running exclusively(due to having limited time) and found that it was much harder to lose weight than when I incorporate strength training and biking. The…
  • I don't get that at all, but Gold's Gym actually has a "Lady's Gold" section that is behind frosted glass doors, and it is a smaller, more private version of the regular gym. It's adjacent to a machine that I use a lot, so I always kind of laugh when I see it, but apparently the problem that you have is pretty common with…
  • You didn't mention if you are doing core work at all. It's really the best way to work on the belly and hip area. This could also be a stress issue, as Cortisol (a stress hormone) causes you to retain weight around your stomach instead of legs and butt.
  • A lot of people (about 10% of the population) can't process synthetic B vitamins, so it's worth considering an activated or methylated B vitamin supplement. Things like Folic Acid and the Niacin that they put in breads and pastas don't break down well in everyone, no matter how much you get.
  • I don't struggle with PMDD (or luckily any period related issues), but have had severe depression since college and am a recovering anorexic. It sounds strange, but spicy food helps me on days when I am struggling. It gives you a domapine release in your brain, so it helps improve mood and release stress. When I worked in…
  • Biking. I am a big runner, but due to back surgery I can only do about 15 miles a week, which means I have to find cross training to make up the difference. I started doing the recumbent bike when I was pregnant, and I can't believe how much it has improved my strenght in my legs and my run time. I have to do the recumbent…
  • Cheezits. Whenever I have a little bit to drink and I know I've busted my diet anyways, I always buy cheezits. I don't keep them in the house normally.
  • You are my hero if you went to New Orleans and kept it that lean. There is no chance that I will make that happen In Costa Rica next month, but it's inspiring!
  • I'm also going for damp. When I drink I can drink a TON, which also makes me really, really hungry. My husband sells wine so we get basically an endless supply for free, and I have two girlfriends who I am very close with (one has a non-custodial child, but both are single), so there is happy hour at least once a week.…
