  • I lasted on the keto diet for about a month. I lost ten pounds but I felt horrible. Online it said that the symptoms (nausea, headaches, and fatigue) were supposed to go away but they persisted. Its very hard to maintain too. Also, I went off of it and within a week I had gained back the weight that I lost in that month.
  • Two days after my SO broke up with me I decided to make a change. That was about five months ago and I have lost 20 pounds since then. But find other motivators because its difficult to continue losing weight and get over them if they are your only reason. Make a list of other reasons to lose weight, that's what helped me.…
  • I used to do that a lot, like binge eating whenever I was bored or had a bad day. I chew gum all of the time. Taking a walk, reading, playing an instrument, even watching a good TV show is better than reaching for the chips that are calling your name. • American Horror story and scandal or basically anything Shonda Rhimes writes.
  • It's a HUGE motivator to see pictures of your "old self". I really struggle with eating right, so whenever I feel like going back to unhealthy eating I look at old pictures of myself. You should take pictures to track progress because the numbers are never enough. Good luck!
  • I am also 5'6 and 142 pounds. In about five months I have lost 20 pounds on a 1200 calorie diet. I want to reach 130 but things have slowed down the last couple weeks. I try to get on or right above my calorie goal (so my metabolism doesn't bottom out). Good luck!
