  • I never use cast iron for eggs, I only use it for higher heat items like bacon and steak. I use ceramic pans for eggs, never an issue with sticking.
  • NSV today. I had promised my team if they accomplished a certain task by Wednesday that I would buy pizza on Friday. They got it done, so today I drove a half hour from the office to pick up 10 of the best pizzas in Austin. Drove back to the office smelling them the whole way, took them in, and ate tuna, baby spinach, mayo…
  • I keep Aidells smoked chicken sausages on hand. I probably eat 2 per day regularly. 45 seconds in the microwave and ready to go. I like the habenero and pepper jack cheese ones. Perfect for my macros.
  • I get naked and look in the mirror. Carb cravings gone, lol.
  • Cheddar cheese and pepperoni. Sweetest snack ever
  • I used Parmesan for a chicken coating that turned out awesome.
  • Anyone can feel free to add me... I have no idea how to add friends, so someone can feel free to tell me how to do that also, lol.
  • He just won't pay you for it..
  • I'm a simple man, lol. Breakfast is almost always an Aidells smoked chicken sausage and 3 eggs. Lunch is baby spinach and either tuna/mayo, or ground pork and cheese (liking the pork much more than the tuna). Dinner is another chicken sausage, 2 eggs, cheese and 2 low carb/high fiber tortillas. Weekends I switch it up a…
  • Thanks for that. No idea why I didn't see that when I looked at their site. I'm not sensitive to MSG, which doesn't actually seem to be a real thing anyway according to recent studies. No idea what made me feel so bad then.... Still, I guess the only way to truly control my intake is to cook it myself.
  • Quack. Absolutely the definition of quack. The only deviation I would add to that is paid shill. Pay him money, he touts your ground sawdust and arsenic pills as a miracle weight loss medicine.
  • The only 'cheats' I've had since I started keto is going over my calorie goals. Lucky for me, I have no sweet tooth. The stuff I used to 'cheat' with is now the stuff I am supposed to eat, lol.
  • When I ate carbs, fiber was my friend. Kept me regular as clockwork. Now that I'm keto, eating fiber causes bad things to happen... Evil things.. Things we don't talk about lest they hear us... Seriously though, I'm much better regulated without it now. Odd, isn't it?
  • I'm open to friends also. Always good to have support.

  • Phillips tablets work really well, and are gentle. I find myself having to take them every couple weeks or so. Had an issue a month ago, took a different kind and spent the entire night in pain. Work night too, wasn't the best idea, lol. But yeah, lots of water, keep sodium up.
  • Prior to keto I had taken to buying dried fruit and nut mix and eating it on the drive home. Logic was that I would eat that before dinner, and wouldn't be as hungry. One day I realized that my baggies of mix were getting bigger, yet my portions at dinner stayed the same. Poured out my ziplock and measured the portions for…
  • I'm so happy there is no one in this thread that actually thinks "Dr." Oz knows what he is talking about. I despise woo.
  • I found some foods I like early on in the program, and eat nearly the same diet every day. 3 eggs and a sausage (Aidells smoked chicken with habanero and jack cheese) for breakfast. Tuna, spinach, mayo and Parmesan cheese crisps for lunch. 2 eggs, another sausage, made into tacos with high fiber-low carb tortillas with…
  • I grew up really poor. Fast food was a once or twice per year treat, and was used as a reward. I learned early on that when I was allowed to eat junk food I had to make the most of it. Fast forward 20 years, and I did most of my own cooking, but on Friday I would reward myself with an entire family meal from KFC, or a box…
  • I've had several NSV's lately. My company Culture Committee held an ice cream social today. Didn't touch it. My wedding ring almost falls off these days too. Weight has stalled for a week or so, but I'm still feeling good about the progress.

  • My carb intake is <20 per day, but it hasn't stopped me from enjoying some good bourbon a few times. Haven't noticed anything unusual.
  • Spent my bachelor life at 190 lbs, gym rat, constantly active. Often described as yummy. Got married at 38; she didn't like the gym, hiking, sports, sightseeing, traveling. She loves pasta, bread and potatoes. I gained 10 lbs per year for 10 years. Was no longer "yummy". No real health concerns, but one day I accidentally…
  • Did some research.. Seems the protein isn't a complete chain, which is why they put a disclaimer on the bag. Some sites say that due to the incomplete nature of the chain it gets converted to carbs, but other sites don't include that bit, so no real way to verify it.
  • Isn't the protein in pork rinds unusable though? Could have sworn I read that they actually weren't a source of protein.. I'll be back, doing research n stuff.
  • It will settle itself out. Keep calm and keto on.
  • I have the same thing every day. Solid white albacore tuna, mayonnaise and baby spinach. I put Parmesan cheese whisps on top for texture.
  • Hmmm. I'm 49, married for 11 years. After being very active in high school, then 8 years military, then working construction I never worried about my diet. Gym rat, spent 5-6 days per week working out. Great shape, then got married at 38. Wife wasn't in to hiking, working out, or social events, and I gradually stopped…
  • I am firmly in the "pro-GMO" camp. I hear many folks claiming we can feed the world organically, but the numbers do not hold up. We can't feed the current worlds population, how about when we hit 9 billion? Now throw in climate change. We need crops that can withstand heat, drought, cold snaps, less water, and will need…

  • I tried them, and liked them a bit, but not enough to make them worth the effort. Making egg/cream cheese pancakes worked out well though. Much simpler. Glad you liked it though. Anything that helps keep you going is a good thing, right?
