  • I eat very few veggies. My daily intake is 2 cups of raw baby spinach that I slather in cheese, meat of some sort, and salsa. Doesn't taste like veggies when it's a taco salad-ish thing. Other than that it's all eggs, sausage, bacon, ground pork, cheese, pepperoni, pulled pork, steak, etc. I would say that most of my…
  • My wife was freaking out about it, so I started cooking for myself. I started losing a lot of weight, she counted calories and lost none. My doctor okayed the diet, my cholesterol dropped 30 points. She is perfectly fine with it now. It's not something she wants to do, but her tune might change when I hit my goal weight..
  • I found an awesome doctor here in Austin, but I got a letter today that he has decided to retire, and I have to find a new one... sucks, but I'll just deal with it and move on..
  • I love eggs. I already eat between 3-7 per day. I'd be willing to bet this wouldn't be that difficult for me, lol.
  • I eat 2 Carb Sense tortillas every day for dinner. 20 grams fiber. Also eat a big spinach salad every day for lunch. No idea about the fiber in that, but there is definitely some.
  • Feel free to add me also if you want. I'm in my 5th month of keto, down 54lbs from my heaviest.
  • I've made fathead pizzas and meatsa's a couple times. I tend to eat too much and go way over on my calories, so I had to stop. Delicious though.
  • I just ate some pork rind nachos. Delicious. Queso, ground pork taco meat style, hot salsa and sour cream. I just dunk the rinds into the fixings, they get soggy if you try them like regular nachos.
  • Never. I don't want to run the risk of enjoying it too much.
  • I had issues the first few weeks, took some Phillip's capsules to get me over the hump. After a few weeks my body adjusted, very seldom have issues any more. Oh, I also take a magnesium/potassium supplement now, too.
  • I can't do that. I know if I cheat just a bit, or reward myself with something that shouldn't be in my diet regardless of fitting in my macros, it will turn in to a cheat week. Then month. For the record, I hate veggies too. I just know that in order to succeed, I can't cheat; ever.
  • Started off at 285. Went low calorie, under 2k per day. A year later I was at 266, constantly having cheat days, weeks, months. Weight yo-yo-ing 'up and down, always hungry. Went on keto at the end of May, am now at 235 without a single hunger pain. Just got my blood work done, cholesterol is down 30 points from prior to…
  • From what I've read about cholesterol, what we eat has a very tiny impact on the cholesterol in our bodies. If eggs and meat do not increase our bad cholesterol, will other foods really increase the good? Serious question.
  • I hoard guitars. They stay in my home office. The rest of the house I want completely clutter free.
  • I want to be 'yummy' again. Far more achievable goal: it may sound odd, but people perceived as obese have a harder time being promoted. Losing the weight will make me more promotable. Currently down 50 lbs total, 40 to go.
  • While I don't drink the flavored syrups, I have a couple coffees with Splenda, and at least 4 bottles of water per day with different artificial sweeteners. No issues with them at all. Better than not drinking water, which is what would happen if I didn't add some flavor, lol.
  • A month or so ago I had started having a little bourbon in the evenings. I noticed a stall on weight loss really quickly, so I stopped it... after the bottle was gone
  • I don't do it. I tried it, had no issues with the taste. I used to be a gym rat, and I never did the smoothie thing because I didn't want to drink my calories. BPC is the same thing' I just don't want to go over my calorie goal by eating something that doesn't make me full. Half and half with Splenda is all I take in my…
  • I never have planned snacks. Normally just 3 meals per day and call it good. Occasionally I'll eat dinner too early and get hungry before bed, so I keep pepperoni and pickles on hand for those times.
  • I wouldn't do the vitamin fast. If you are going to have your blood work checked, you should have it checked in your normal state, which is taking vitamins. Doing a vitamin fast may not give your body time to adjust and really show some odd results.
  • Ah, the fake food bit may be the reason why a couple looked strange. I'm thinking, "hey, I'll take a look at some friends diaries to get some good ideas on diet plans!". Breakfast- rutabagas, chocolate, 1/2 banana, ground cumin, 1/4 cup chitterlings. Nope. No good menu ideas here... Didn't guess that they were throwing…
  • I eat a super consistent diet mostly. 3 eggs and a sausage in the morning, spinach with cheese, salsa and a protein for lunch, then 2 low carb tacos for dinner with eggs, cheese, salsa and a protein. I'm never hungry, but couldn't imagine how bad I would feel skipping one of them. Again, not bashing anyone, it just makes…
  • I have always known that my body likes meat more than anything else. Eat a steak- instant energy. Eat pasta- instant nap. Keto was an attractive WOE because these are the foods I like anyway.
  • Pizza. Cheeseburgers. Cheesecake. Ice cream. Doritos. I've tried substitutes for pizza (fathead pizza) and it was delicious, but caused a stall in my weight loss. I decided I could live without it.
  • The way to get over the soreness is to re-frame it. I was a gym rat for years, even though I don't look much like it now. I learned to love the pain. Pain-progress. When the pain from working out didn't happen, I would push harder the next day to make sure I was actually doing something beneficial. Even today I love that…
  • I've been eating around 30 total, but 10 net carbs per day for a few months. I've found that success for me lies in eating nearly the same things every day. Keeps my body expecting the same amount of food at each meal, so no hunger. My largest carb intake every day is 2 'Carb Sense' tortillas at dinner. 6 grams net, 20…
  • I've been loving the comments about RBF and RNF. I'm convinced I must have the male equivalent of RBF. Maybe RAF? Went to get my hair cut recently, hairdresser was talk, talk, talk to the two guys ahead of me. I sat down, got "How do you want it cut?" Not a single word was spoken by her after that. I've been in my position…
  • Multivitamin- b complex - vitamin C - potassium - magnesium - vitamin D. I take the multivitamin at night, the rest in the am.
  • I told my doctor about a week ago. He said "cool, that would explain why you've lost so much weight". Then stopped talking about it. I asked if he could add regular cholesterol checks with my blood work, he said that makes sense and added the order. He seems to be pretty cool about it.
  • Guess I'm weird. I fall asleep within 30 seconds of hitting the pillow, sleep 5 hours and wake up ready for the day, with no alarm clock. Been that way my whole life. LCHF didn't impact my sleep at all.
