  • Thanks, everyone. Yes, lesson learned. Best thing is to cut calories and take your time. And thanks to Pokemon Go my kids are bugging me to walk all the time now, lol! Nothing like a good support group.
  • I have another discussion on who did the test. Bad, bad decision made there. Thanks, everyone!
  • Thanks, all. Haunghtinglyfit, I need to lose 100. My bmr is 1900 so if I eat 1200 I'm not too from my goal. I plan to take it slow. After my experience I quit for a year so any progress is better than that. I appreciate all the positive feedback I've been getting. I feel good today.
  • I'm from Texas - what is C25K? Ok google...
  • It's really hard to do with kids - you give so much and all you want is a brownie! I've been there and am well familiar - I wish I had used this site 10 years ago. Add me and let's help each other~ You will do it!

  • Nighteater, wishing you the best of luck! You have a great reason and you can do it. Hopefully you don't end up Hangry and single! JK... I've tried the low carb and it worked for me. Here's an alternative... It takes 3,500 calories to lose a pound. So know your BMR and estimate low on the calories burned - I think gym…
  • Oh, add me! I'm over 40 and looking for friends. I'm kind of a loner and I just realized MFP has this. I'm looking forward to hearing how other journeys are going.

  • Add me, please. I'm also looking for friends and I've noticed how positive everyone is. I didn't know there was a feed!
  • You can do it! Are you looking for recipes, exercise help or just friends? I'm here for all three! :)
  • I've really been focusing on tracking everything I eat and I noticed one of the reasons I was failing before is because I was allowing cheat days. I was great all week, so why not reward myself? Right now I'm working on the theory that it takes 3,500 calories to lose one pound. If you take your BMR plus calories burned per…
  • I'm new, too. I find it's hard to get to the gym, but my kids do like to take walks and I feel Mom guilt when I tell them no. So their support is asking me to walk. :) It's been helping!
  • Horoscopa, looking forward to the journey!
  • I did this DNA test and ended up so discouraged. Those percents are very hard to hit. And I like long walks or biking, but they told me my body "doesn't process fat" So unless I did high intensity and high protein it wouldn't work. I failed. Just didn't like life that way.
  • I was trying to track everything, 35/35/30 was recommended (and I got real darn tired of protein drinks), high intensity workouts, vitamins up the wazoo.... Now I'm just trying to keep a 500-1000 calorie deficit per day. Just going to give it a couple months and see. No rules. Just keep a deficit.
  • I just had a sweet potato and black bean chili relleno and it was delish! Roast the chili in the oven, removremove the skin, then use boiled potatoes and black beans to stuff. Top with green salsa. Spinach and mushroom enchiladas are also good with the same green sauce. Quick and easy.
