• Not the pools near where I live in Switzerland...
• And falling over / loosing balance trying to do squats..... my old PT thought I was messing him about.... my feet just wouldn’t do it
• I’m not sure. I’m not allowed to take the boot off unless I’m lying down and have to wear it whilst sleeping Incase I stretch the tendon by accident. So getting to and from the pool and in and out would not be easy....
• My husband has never expected me to wait on him... otherwise I would never of married him....:) I don't do it when I'm fully able bodied....but I do do all the cooking at home... I really enjoy it and since retiring at 45 the kitchen has become a bit of a no go zone for my husband (or any house guests).... even when he…
• originally from Manchester UK, but now in Switzerland.
• Thank you everyone. I’ll have a google of your recommendations Local collage or community collage isn’t an option as I live in Switzerland and my German is really only conversational - not at the level I would need for studies.
• Neither, I recently. Bought a skagen smart watch, more because of the looks than usability though. It has a step counter and vibrates when I get a call or email/message.... that’s all I need.... and it tells the time whilst looking good IMO
• I just buy the ones that are anti burp....
• I thought I’d come back and post how things went in case it’s ever useful to anyone else... The surgery didn’t go to plan because the tendon was too ‘contracted’ and so they did an open surgery with a cut about 5 or 6 inches. I was in hospital overnight and allowed home wearing a vacoped ‘boot’ I was weight bearing the day…
• I have the withings scales and love them. Both hubby and myself have it set to send our measurements straight to the app on our phones. It recognizes which of us is on the scales even though we are only about 8kg difference in weight. They are stylish and easy to clean too.
• For those calories I’d rather have a square of Lindt choc....
• I’ve been a Fd/e cup all my life regardless of my weight.... don’t be embarrassed - embrace them. Get a good bra fitting and you will feel very different about how they look. Or if that doesn’t help then. Good minimizer bra in the right size will also help. If they are causing physical or psychological issues then can’t…
• I have no idea either - what are they ?? Isn't it better to have a small square of high quality chocolate ? thats what I usually do If I need a choc fix.... but I do live in Switzerland so we have really good chocolate.... :)
• I have no idea what that Ezekiel Bread is I'm afraid.... I live in Switzerland and don't get anywhere near the amount of products I see people talk about on here. My 'ready meal' section in the supermarket only have ready made pasta - ravioli- and pizzas. our frozen food section is about half an aisle in the…
• For me its all in the planning. I also just don't buy foods that I know I will grab if they are around. I don't have crisps in the house as they are my weakness. I also cook double every time I cook and so there is always a stash of home made food in the freezer. I also plan what I am going to eat for the day and enter it…
• I would use up what you have but then find different things to replace them with. I grate cheese myself and freeze it (for example) and use it later on lasagne or if I make a quiche. Do you have a cash and carry place like cost-co ? maybe try shopping there. Its in bulk, but you can make larger portions and freeze some for…
• I use my treadmill at home all the time. I get up, put on gym gear, use the treadmill then do the cleaning then shower and get on with my day. There are a couple of TV shows I watch that I can watch at the same time too. Like others have said if you turn it into a routine it can work. Also, as someone has said, look at the…
• I saw 2 specialists and both agreed that stretching is not going to help me at all at this point. So I guess thats why they didn't suggest a night splint... however I will ask my physic about this for the other foot as I currently don't have any pain in that one... but the same limited range of movement..... Had I actually…
• I have fine naturally curly (and coloured hair) I only use no poo cleaners maybe once a week if my hair is really sweaty after a work out. All the other days I wash using a conditioner for curly hair. It’s light enough that it’s also my leave in conditioner too. I buy from deva curl. It’s not for everyone but my hair loves…
• Hi eptanubrata yes, I'm doing stretches for my muscles and rolling my foot over a bottle of water that has been frozen to help with the inflammation. the stretches aren't helping much to be honest.... I have some arch support for my shoes which helps during the walk, but I still get a lot of pain afterwards. even just a…
• It has to be a proper English Bacon Buttie :) Fluffy white bread, salted butter and back bacon. None of that streaky stuff. A soft egg would be a bonus.
• I'm so glad I've read this and to the OP for asking. I'm having surgery in 2 weeks to lengthen my achilles tendon and so I will be restricted with what I do. (though I have been quite restricted for the last 6 months due to the pain) I never thought about needing more calories to heal but of course it makes perfect sense…
• thats what I have an issue with. They are expensive and most say they need to be a certain temperature. Any I buy will need to be shipped from somewhere and so it could just be a big money wasting exercise.....
• I bought a soda stream that carbonates my water. I drink 2 of the refillable bottles a day. I carbonate them in the morning and then I can see clearly how much I'm drinking. Slices of citrus fruit liven the water up. I also just started drinking herbal teas. liquorice and peppermint or lemon and ginger are my faves. I'd…
• My Kroger store carries Bubba pickles which are "live" and the taste really, really good.
I've had that brand, they are delicious!
You have no idea how lucky you are having such a wide choice readily available..... I miss the USA and UK supermarkets.
• I live in Switzerland. There is a lot that is not readily available here that I used to take for granted. On the other hand there is a lot that is available that others struggle to find. Raw milk for example can be bought at most farmers own small shops. I just take along my own bottle.
• thanks I'll look into kefir. I've hear about its existence but don't know anything about it.... I'm off to google it.
• I've never seen any, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places... I'll ask around.
• In the interests of clarity the person I was talking about has been a friend for over 15 years, she convinced me to re-start with MFP and when we were 'chatting' on messenger and I said 'what was with the sausage at breakfast' she laughed and said that was why she wanted me to read her diary. She is still a friend and…
