5K Christmas fun run today. The temps were warmer than the last few day but the wind is a lot stronger. I still need to run another 7 miles today to stay on track.

I will be running in a 5K costume fun run called the candy-cane cash dash tomorrow. There is a prize for the top male / female runners (hahaha, I don't have a prayer) as well as the best costume.

I LOVE peaches, but all my recipes are horrible for any aspect of dieting or eating healthy. Peach ice cream, peach cobbler, peach jam.....

-22 ?!?!? wow, I thought my run this morning at 17 (-8C) was bad. I need to get new gloves, these lightweight cotton ones aren't effective enough at this temp. The UA balaclava kept my face from freezing but that thing was soaked when I took it off. It's a miracle of science that it was providing any warmth at all. Maybe…

wow. You sound like a guy I saw this evening. Running in shorts, a light top and a hat. I looked at the temp gauge when I passed him and it read 36 (before any windchill). I was just thinking, I would be freezing to death with so little on. I think we all have a preferred temp to be at. I hate the cold, and I'm usually…

Lol, i hate the treadmill too!

Well, I knew the cold weather was coming, so I bought set of fleece lined pants and top (the really thin ones, like compression clothing) along with some wool/spandex knee socks and a lightweight balaclava. Then all that was worn under my regular shirt/shorts/hat and track suit. It was a balmy 33 this morning and I was…

I took the day off from running. After running every day for the last couple weeks, and logging 39 miles last week alone, my legs were getting progressively more sore so I felt I needed a day of just rest. Part of my brain is saying "look at all the miles youre missing out on" but it sure felt good to sleep another hour…

Hahaha, true!

I highly recommend giving them a try! If they are anything like the store I visited (Red Coyote) you are going to be very happy. Being helped by people who REALLY know a product made a huge difference.

but they said he killed all the boys 10 and older. I think he has a weak spot for girls and women because of his past.

I was working when the show aired, so I had to avoid this thread until I could watch the DVR. I think Negan is supposed to be someone who respects strength and courage. He takes delight in torturing and killing people who cry and grovel (even though that is what he demands of them). He seems to respect those without the…

I really worry about those thin mesh panels on my shoes when we get to the snowy/slushy season (which may be very soon). I'm toying with the notion of going back to my winter combat boots for that. I know they are at least waterproof!

I am FULL! But so far I have only eaten 2382 calories, and I still have 587 left to eat and still be in calorie goals! It helps that I made 2 no-sugar pies for today, so theres a lot of calories gone. Then I ran 7 miles this morning which gave me a lot more calories to fill up. Going to have another slice of pie here in a…

Came in 3rd for my group in the Turkey Trot 5K race today, and I ran a new personal best of 25:37 for an 8:15 average!
-
I also will be running in a Turkey Trot 5K tomorrow morning.
-
driven over those many times, going to have to check out this run for next year!

You've missed the point of the entire thread. It's not about "maintaining calories", it's about hunger cues. Where it was easier to eat 1400 calories a day for month after month, upping the calories to 1800 is triggering the body to want (even demand) even more. It happens to a LOT of us and its frustrating and confusing.
-
LOL, you are my new best friend! Haha, those recipes look great AND small in size. PERFECT! Thank you!
-
ok, thanks. I'm going to copy and add that recipe to my list of thing to try.
-
Part of it is that you can't make a "slice of pie", you get a full pie and nobody but me to eat it.
-
That sounds really good but I have to ask a question. How "firm" does it come out after cooking? I have a serious hate of coconut flour, not for taste but because I have never had a good recipe using it. They always completely fall apart, having no body to them.
-
Oh my gosh that sounds fabulous! I make a homemade sugar free bbq sauce and i would destroy some of that bacony goodness with it!
-
Lol
-
thank you all, I like to look at it as giving myself the gift of health. Breaking that sugar addiction has be tough!

I understand your frustration and I'm battling it myself. I was 5 pounds away from my goal when I went on a cruise in September. I started out good, but by the end I had lost all control. I was determined to get back on track after getting home but its been a huge battle. Ever since, I have had good (disciplined) stretches…

Theres your problem. STOP BREAKING THE DIET!!!. Then start weighing and measuring everything so you can calculate exactly how many calories you eat. Last, stop eating back your exercise calories. Once you start losing, slowly add back SOME of thosr exercise cals
-
It's gross but it's what I do too. My nose runs when running in the cold.
-
Nope, i get it from people quite often and i never talk about my weight or diet unless directly asked
-
yeah, it was 39 here, and I decided shortly into my route that I need gloves, and a hat. I see wool socks and neck/face gator in the near future too. I hate cold! 20F running? I'm dreading when it gets to that point this winter.
