I am also motivated by looking better for my other half and also just to feel more confident. The scale says I'm losing weight (first time I've ever been consistently losing), and I guess what is really keeping me going is knowing that this time next year, I will look better than I look today.

Exactly this! In my head (and sometimes looking in the mirror) I do not see the mass that appears say, when I'm caught on camera. It's usually a shock to see my true size. In my head, I'm a bit overweight. In reality it's 70lbs or so.

I tried on a top on a whim this morning, which previously showed up all my lumps and bumps. Today it only showed a little. I felt so happy! I think I'll be using the top as a progress marker. On a "scale related" victory = I've reached 10% of my target weight loss goal this morning. Yay for me! Well done everyone!

This made me chuckle so much - the thought of losing weight to the point of having to change the way I rise from a seat. This actually made add my first "two cents" to the message board. On another note, I am only a few weeks into my journey and these messages have been so inspirational. I greatly look forward to all these…
