I did an easy solo 22 miler on Saturday. Nothing on Sunday - was feeling under the weather...still am. Going to try to do a moderate 70 miler on Saturday in prep for the Cool Breeze Century on 8/20. We'll see how that goes. Not really feeling the joie de vivre of cycling right now.

Oh I need to get one of those rear radar thingys!

Yeah I wouldn't go more than 400/hr. I weigh 205 now, and for an hour of hard climbing uphill I burn about 600 cals. I burn about 400 cals for moderate riding per hour.

Nice Regina! Any mile is a good mile, flat or no. Where I am, even the "flat" bike paths have some tilt to them. Nice ride Bob! I think a regular Mon/Fri post is a good idea.

Oh, to your point Bob..the fires are mostly contained, but we probably won't ride that area for awhile. Lot's of other place to go though!

Stopped at the (in)famous Neptune's Net for a quick bite, then 16 miles back on PCH. In all 46 miles and 4700' of elevation. Tough…

Bob, that sounds like an amazing ride! I just looked it up...gourmetcentury.com/ride/. There's one in Sonoma on Oct 29th. It's a 6 hour drive but we may have to do it! Was actually planning on going up to Sonoma on Thursday to check out the college there for DS.

Yo!

Wish I could do that. I drive 47 miles each way. If I were to bike it would be more like 60 miles each way with lots of hills.

My core and arm strength are pathetic. Down side to being cycling centric. Pity because these muscles help with cycling. Looking forward to retirement in x years so I can go to the gym!

I also like adding pics and links and being able to quote. Seeing the original post as you are writing yours.
