Diabetic over 10+ years. Lost a good amount of weight and I am no longer on diabetic meds.

I still have about 60 lbs. to lose plus need to control the compulsive overeating. It is true the totally opposite types of eating I do. I need to realize that if I ate an extra carb, that I didn't blow my whole day. I have had these extreme habits over 40 years. Someone a year and a half ago did help me eat a "normal"…

I need to not go off the rails if I eat an extra carb. I am continuing to exercise even when I am not eating healthy or in the right quantity.

It helps, thank you. I do know I can't keep so many trigger foods in the house. But I can't seem to break the eat 1 "bad" thing and then I am completely off.

Not a nurse but have had calf pain over 5 years with last year also having back of thigh pain. Every time I mentioned the pain to the doc, they would do a doppler to look for blood clots. Complained the next year, sent me to vein doc who also just did a doppler. It wasn't until my doc moved and a new doc came that he…

Many hospitals have diabetic programs - usually 5 sessions with different health professionals giving you advise and information. Though I did find some conflicting ideas with them.

True, hugs

Great advice for those that are self-conscious.

I get what you are saying. For 40 years I have been yo-yo dieting. It is such a part of me habit that if I were to have a snack or junk that wasn't planned, I then go off the rails. Instead of just saying my next meal I will eat healthy, I just go so off track and it could take me days, weeks or months to gear myself back…

Hi, I go on Petfinder and Adopt-a-Pet every day. I am looking for a female rescue dog who is 10 lbs. or less, hyper-allergenic and I need her to be already trained on a wee-wee pad. Our dog passed in the Spring of 2018 and when we adopted her 16 years earlier through Petfinder. When we got her, she was trained on a pad and…

You all did fantastic! Two years ago I bought a shirt to wear on St. Patty's Day. I knew it didn't fit but it was on sale. Last St. Patty's I tried it on, too tight especially the arms. I was going to give it away but kept it. Tried it on this week, it fits! p.s. I always have problems too with pot lucks, someone's house,…

Thank you all!

When you first come into the class, introduce yourself to the teacher and tell her you are a beginner. It can take many, many classes to learn the basic moves but once you do, it will seem so much easier. If it goes too fast, just march in place or side to side like someone else mentioned. Good luck and have fun

Make sure all the binge food is not longer in your house.

Great insight into yourself. Thanks for sharing. A new day to breath, start over. Hugs

Thank you all who gave me suggestions about the specific books, videos and classes. I appreciate you all!

Hi, I go to Overeaters Annonymous and the program says you need a Higher Power and God is written throughout all their books. Were you born a Budhist or became one later? Is there an easy beginner book on how and why to become a budhist? I am in need of something but do not know what.

Thank you both so much. I was able to change my preferences and I was able to see posts I had responded to. Thank you!!

How do you lose fat without losing weight?

So a few years ago I had my gallbladder removed and was in the hospital with that - I gained 18 lbs. (and was not allowed to eat). A week later there were renegade gallstones as I call them (sludge as the doctor called them) and I was in the hospital for 4 days and gained 8 lbs. Then a month later they had to take out…

My go to snacks are: apple plain or with a serving of almonds, double serving size hummus with baby carrots and it seems now every night I have 3 clementines/cuties. McMEHU: Tell me please about the sugar free cheesecake pudding with Greek yogurt - you do not have to add any milk? Any other directions? Thank you!

I do not know but would like to hear what others have to say. Good luck:)

Had spider veins for a long while. Last 5 years my calf hurts. Every time I told the doc, she had me have a doppler test to see if I have blood clots. Still complained, sends me to vein doc, also had another doppler. No solution. 5 years later I now have different pain in calf and see that I now have varicose veins. I go…

It's only been 2 months. Are you still going to physical therapy? My friend had PT for 6 months. Friend didn't have any problems with the muscle around the knee. Please talk to the orthopedic surgeon for advice. Good luck.

Thank you both. Pill form of curcumin - will look for it. Freezing spinach - then I will always have it for my smoothie and won't run out of the fresh. :) :)

I have and always had a huge problem with the scale. So right now I am weighing every two weeks and having hubby hide it in between, can't be trusted. I have been having a bunch of mini binges lately. If it's given to me or right in front of me, I can't help but think that I need to eat it. Hugs to us all struggling.
