1. My doctor took me off two of my blood pressure meds, and my A1c is 5.6. 2. Tracking consistently - one meal at a time, one day at a time, one week at a time. 3. Get to a healthy weight, probably 145-149.

I started it this past winter, but had to set it aside. It is on my list to pick up and start again later this fall once I am inside more. (Yes! I can edit my reply after posting too soon!) I had heard good things about the book and wanted to see for myself.

Sorry – I got called away from my office before I posted my response. I am curious to see how other people handle this. As I said in the intro, I love most things having to do with food. Sometimes I am fine with that. At other times it seems as if I spend a lot of time and energy thinking about food and eating. I have…

In the past, road trip snacks always included chips and peanut M&M's. Meals were generally burgers and fries to go. Now, I have a cooler for the car and pack grapes, baby carrots, cut up fruits and veggies, and sandwiches. We seldom stop for a meal and it is easier to have what we need readily available.

I guess I'll have to close the kitchen first while you are away. Mine is being shut down right now.

I still "see" myself as the thin, fit person I was until my late twenties or early thirties. I didn't think of myself as obese at my highest weight, and I still don't have that mental picture of myself, even though the mirror tells me otherwise. Sometimes, even while looking at myself in the mirror, I don't think I see…

I track on WW using SP. The new program works for me, my food choices haven't changed much, and a lot of my recipes are stored there. Plus, my F2F meeting is important. I use the site to look for new recipes, and I check out Connect as well. Connect is a vastly different experience than this board, but it has its place on…

I'm closing mine, too. The dishwasher is on, the lights are out, breakfast and lunch are packed, there is no reason to go back in that room.

I'm ready to switch out my summer berries for apples. I haven't seen Zestar apples here, but haven't really looked either. Now I will.

On one of the previous WW plans, as podkey mentioned, you had to use activity points on the day you earned them. I routinely broke that rule. I was more strenuously active at that time, and I usually wasn’t hungry on the day of the activity (leaving unused points), but I was the next day. So I would back-track parts of my…

Yes! This week I measured my tortilla chips into serving size baggies to make tracking easier and more accurate. Bonus - one bag of chips outlasted the week, rather than disappearing after one or two days.

Dishwasher is ready to start. Evening snack measured, tracked, and consumed. Time to close the kitchen!

What has helped me recently is getting my fridge and pantry (my spaces) set up to make times when I just don't care less damaging. I am working on the behavior, but I can also do what I can to make the consequences less severe.

No pop-ups here, but I have an ad blocker turned on. Now I get notices from various sites that ask me if I won't please turn off my ad blocker so I can see ads from their sponsors.

@Flintwinch - I am enjoying the Harry Bosch series as well.

Thanks again - I'm taking notes for my reading list!

Kitchen is closed here, too. Time for football!

Thanks for some great ideas, both WL and other. One thing that I look forward to in the fall and winter is having more time to read. :) I am going to restart the Beck Diet solution. Got to day nine earlier this year, and put it away, but what I did read and the exercises I did make me want to go back and finish the book.…

And the freezer door and the pantry door!
