I'm still losing weight (body fat) and I've been working on my health for about 2 years now. I stopped tracking CICO so rigorously for the past few months, but I was able to maintain. That gives me confidence I can keep the weight off long term. I think it's pretty well known how easy it is to regain lost weight, but if…

Congrats on your progress! I think CICO has a bad reputation because lots of people have heard of it and tried it, but no one really talks about all the skills that go into it. First, you have to learn to measure accurately, which was actually pretty challenging for me until I got a food scale. Second, you have to know…

Hello and welcome! <3 25 lbs is great! Keep up the good work!

Omg this is amazing!

I love tacos too, so I've been making them at home to keep the calories down. If I worked at an office and tacos were around, I'd have a hard time resisting too. I think budgeting for them was a good idea, because it shows you are making a diligent effort towards healthy habits. One bad day, doesn't have to end things for…

Congrats! Small changes add up over time. :)

Losing weight has been great for my health but even at a slow pace, I've started feeling kind of awkward about my body as it changes. I don't want to demotivate anyone, just make people aware that if you lose a lot of weight, it can feel weird at times. The best way I can describe it is that my body feels very loose and…

Welcome and congrats on your progress!

Using a food scale to measure my snacks is way easier for me than using cups, for some reason. I have a snack just about every day, but only a very small amount. I don't like to eat snacks from the bag anymore. I use a little dish.

Amazing!

How can I tell if I am mineral deficient? (Potassium, magnesium, zinc, calcium etc.) My multi vitamin doesn't have any of these, and I'm trying to lose weight (fat) and regain muscle. Should I supplement?

Wow, only 85 days?! 😱 That's so much progress. Congrats!
-
Oh this looks so good! Thanks for the idea. : )

Okay, instead of pasta have you tried zoodles aka Zucchini noodles ? They are amazing! Especially if you make like a light roux, or butter, or sprinkle some Parmesan on top.

I have no qualifications to give advice but if you're cutting carbs yes, please pay attention to the fiber. (I learned the hard way.) "The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020–2025 recommends that adults eat 22 to 34 grams of fiber each day, the specific amount will depend on your age and sex." More info I try to have…

Congrats!! 😀 I want to ask... did you primarily focus on food or fitness? Or maybe both? I'm wondering because we have similar goals. Thanks!

Congrats! I want to start meal prepping, but it's hard to get started. Any tips to make it more convenient or less of a pain? 😅

Just putting this out there in case it helps someone. No one told me that lowering my carbs (not even doing keto or low-carb, just sticking to set macros) would require me to be extra conscious about water-soluble fiber intake. "The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020–2025 recommends that adults eat 22 to 34 grams of…

Looks like you didn't just lose weight, but built up a lot of muscle. Congrats!

Yay! I love to see other 5'1" women posting on here. You're doing great, keep it up!
-
Welcome! I'm also short (5'1) and this is my second time at MFP. It's a slow and steady process, but stick with it. Glad to see you here. :D

I don't have ADHD, (I have other mental health issues) but I also find it easier to weigh myself every day. I like to have an idea of when and why my weight is fluctuating. Tracking everything daily seems to help keep me on track. ;) I lose focus easily otherwise.

Hi, welcome!

"Weight loss is made in the kitchen. Fitness is made in the gym."

Is it hunger or is it cravings? Hard to tell the difference between the two sometimes. It takes practice :)

Wow Congrats!

Go Ray!

I think it helps to look at counting calories as just a way to be more mindful about what you're eating. It's really easy to overeat or eat something that has a crazy amount of calories. Tracking definitely helps to keep things in check. Welcome and may your health improve. :)

Hello fellow short friend! I'm aiming for a slow weight loss, too (1-1.5 lbs a week). Good luck to you. If you did it once, you can do it again! It's just a matter of being consistent.:D

I'm 5'1" so everyone is tall to me 😅 but even if I wasn't a shorty, I don't care about a person's height. Would you really want to date someone who doesn't like you based on height? I wouldn't.
