'Thug Kitchen' is great, super tasty recipes, and the swearing makes it really fun to read. 'From pasta to pancakes' is a great student cookbook with step by step pictures which makes it really easy to follow.

Freezing is good, also you can freeze them as lollies- i like to make lollies with orange juice, strawberries and water- because they are frozen they aren't too tart. If you don't have moulds you can just use plastic cups.

Really great bulk meal is lentil and spinach stew/soup, you can find it on bbc good food website. Very hearty but low calorie and makes loads. As many have said humous and veggies are great, as are salads. With my salads i'll often make some roast butternut squash, or some baked tofu for my dinner, and save half for my salad. Also ricecakes or crackers with low fat cottage cheese is tasty and has high protein if you eat cheese.
