I really like your positive attitude. If you ever want more friends, feel free to add me. :)

I get the flu shot every year. And every year I do have a reaction...mild flu-like symptoms & a very sore arm. However, this is manageable and far better than getting the flu. I think most people who talk about getting sick after a flu shot either were already in the process of getting sick or are just experiencing some…

Re: the scale: 1. If you cook something with multiple portions, weigh each of the ingredients & create a recipe for the entire thing. Then, weigh the whole thing once cooked & include the number of ounces (or grams in your case) as the number of servings. When you eat a portion, just weigh it & include the number of…

Added you. :)

NorCal Organic is my absolute favorite. No crap in it & it's organic. No GMOs. Humane Association certified. Great texture. I use the one that is just whey & <1% lecithin (which makes it easier to mix into things). They also offer one without lecithin. While they do offer different flavors, I've found that the plain one…

A sleep clinic could very helpful for you. Its a pain to do it, but so many people have been helped by it. Doctors often overprescribe meds which can then have other issues. Seeing a clinical psychologist--one who focuses on food issues could also really help. Someone mentioned you being tall. If so, maybe re-evaluate how…

Cut back to an amount that seems doable to you. I do think if you just go on thirst, you may not be drinking enough. (Certainly true for me.) However, you can overdo it. I decided to start out at a set number (in my case, 7 glasses) & then saw how I felt...& looked at the color of my pee. Over time, I found I tend to do…

My diet plan is to really focus on whole foods that taste great & are filled with fiber-rich vegetables & fruit so I'm not hungry. Here's what I ate today. Breakfast - 276 calories: My usual 16 oz smoothie made w PB2, protein powder, unsweetened almond milk, yogurt & ice. I add whatever fruit & greens I have on hand to the…

I average 1400-1600ish & my diary is open to friends.

I haven't been able to exercise in 21 months due to a tropical disease closely followed by spine surgery & some other medical issues...& the scale kept on creeping up. Now in the healing phase, I decided enough was enough. Even if I couldn't lose weight without exercise at least I could stop gaining weight. To my surprise,…

I average between 1400-1600ish a day. My diary is open to friends. :)

Your diary is private currently. If you change that, we can definitely take a look & provide comments.

I think it would be a great idea to find a registered dietician and nutritionist. They can help you with meal planning & set you on the right path to succeed.

If you calculate the number of calories needed to maintain your weight (e.g., 2,000 calories) & then eat less than that number (e.g., 1,400 calories), you are eating at a deficit. Fewer calories in means you'll lose weight. Of course exercise helps & so does eating healthier, whole foods that are fiber-rich more often. I…

1. Eat lots of nutritionally dense foods. 2. Pack in the fiber-rich veggies & fruit making them a focus (e.g., a heaping portion of broccoli w meal) as well as little extra add-ins (e.g., some raw spinach in a smoothie--you can't even taste it). 3. Feeling hungry between meals? Eat a nearly calorie-free food/drink like…

You can add me too if you like. :)

Once a week. Otherwise, I think you get too crazed about it.

You don't seem to have your diary open to the public. Once you open it, I'd be happy to take a look.

I understand you are netting 1000 calories and not eating a 1000 calories for the day, but I'm concerned that you think you're likely eating too few calories that your period has essentially stopped. You can lose weight eating...especially if you're eating the right amount of calories with the right amount of macros filled…

Welcome! I try to eat fairly clean as well. In terms of motivation, it can help to gather some MFP friends to help. Add friends & you'll see them post all sorts of motivational things. +When they work out, it nudges you to work out as well. Also, how about trying something new which might make you want to work out (e.g., a…

Ignore the haters. I had spine surgery & it's taking me a looonnnng time to get better. Right now, just a little bit of walking is all I can manage. If you continue to eat healthy, you will lose weight. (Feel free to add me if you want to motivate each other.)

I found it really helps if you fill up on fiber (e.g., 30 g a day). If you add in 1-2 servings of veggies for every meal (not juice or lettuce, but good, fiber-rich stuff like cauliflower & broccoli), a little fiber-rich fruit like apples & whole grains, you are FAR less likely to be hungry. If you ensure you have enough…

I've always weighed my individual ingredients, but never the final product & then entering the weight as the number of servings. This is brilliant!

My scale is pretty light and not too large. You could easily fit one in your bag & bring the scale with you. They even have ones made for travel. Weighing after school & on days you have off also helps. Scales are also not very expensive which makes it easier.

Cannot agree with this more. Also, a digital scale is key. I was only using measuring cups when I first tried this & thought I was accurate. And also used equivalents (e.g., 1 apple). Nope, I was waaay off in my calorie counts. Buy a scale & weigh everything.

I'm still recovering from spine surgery so am unable to exercise. I am able to get in a tiny bit of walking, but am positive it is far less than what you do. I've lost 18 lbs since July 26. It's not only tracking calories & macros, it's also making sure you eat better food like lots of veggies. (However, the more exercise…

And a day or two lower is ok. Consistently that much lower can set you up for failure.
-
You need to buy a scale as well. If you don't have one, you may actually be having far more or less than you think you are having.

I completely agree with La Croix...just wonderful. Also herbal teas both hot & iced. You can get some really fantastic tasting ones like hibiscus. Yum!
