  • I have some Irish in me but I am mostly Hungarian....lol I think I might have gone into ketosis though. Hubby about fell over from my breath when I kissed him yesterday....lol
  • kpk54, the only reason I am thinking about Keto is because people say you lose so much faster and wanted to at least get a chunk of this weight off. I can easily stay at 50-75 carbs a day and still have my potatoes and my sandwich if I want. I am bouncing back and forth. The last for days, I have had 50, 32 and 26 carbs.…
  • I am pretty good. I can stay under 50 a day and still have a sandwich on my 8grams of carb bread and a small potato or noodle side dish with dinner when I want. I just have to watch the portion. I know when you do eat carbs, it isn't supposed to be what I am allowing myself but I am just getting started and I really don't…
  • I am ashamed to admit that come Thanksgiving day, I will definitely have a small helping of stuffing and mashed potatoes with gravy on my plate but it is a small amount, I think I can still stay around 50 carbs. My actual favorite of Thanksgiving is the crispy turkey skin so YUM. We usually get a Honey Backed Ham from…
  • Since I am just trying to stay around 50-75 carbs..although today I am only looking at 18, I can still have my tuna or ham sandwich. My bread is only 35 calories a slice and 8 carbs a slice. That was most of my 18 today....lol. I could easily fit in a couple loaded potato skins but might just stick with eating my 1/2lb…
  • Thanks Jessica!
  • I have been wanting a Boston Cream Doughnut soooooooooooooooo bad but haven't given in. I am not keto though. I am only low carb. I am trying to stay between 50 and 75 so I can still have a sandwich at lunch which is 16 grams of carbs with the bread I use and I can have a starchy side dish with dinner as long as I don't…
  • THANK YOU. I have been trying to stay within the 2300mg of sodium. I usually come in several hundred under that on a regular basis. I will go read up on the low sodium stuff in the Launchpad. I had no clue I needed more sodium.
  • Thank you so much RowdysLady for making me feel welcome. I just bookmarked a bunch of low carb sites on Facebook and several of the low carb recipe sites from here in the group.
  • I honestly don't eat many veggies at all. I do have a 1/2 cup of green beans every couple of days but I am bad. I actually prefer my meat. I only eat lunch and dinner and am usually very satified...I don't feel deprived or hungry. I try and keep just enough carb grams available to have 1 sandwich and a small baked potato…
  • I just started watching my carbs. I am keeping them under 75 grams but I am only under 50 grams more than a day or two in a row so no keto. No way I could give up potatoes and I like the occasional sandwich. Keeping them on the low end I can still have a baked potato with dinner or some other rice or noodle side dish and…
  • Feel free to add me everyone. SW 204, CW 187, GW 150 to start and then might go for another 10-20. Just started 35 days ago.
  • I also switched to Soda Stream a few years ago. I was drinking regular Pepsi. I was still drinking 2 liters of the soda stream cola till I started here 5 weeks ago. Now I allow myself 1/4 of that over the course of a whole day. I don't drink coffee or any other hot drinks so that is my go to in the morning and a little…
  • I lost 15 lbs even in my first 4 weeks ...like you, I am guessing the first several was water...then it slowed up and I am losing about 2 a week. I just hit my 1 month mark yesterday. I have a long way to go too, Mandy and I would be glad to talk with you and be a "buddy". I am on the computer throughout the day most of…
  • About a week ago I stopped doing breakfast because I wasn't really hungry and thought I could have better lunch and dinner and I have enjoyed doing it this way. I do all my eating between noon and 6 pm and have loved doing it that way.
  • I am really new to all the diet and exercise stuff but from what I have seen on here and read, I would think you would want to up your calories and add some weights to your exercising to gain lean muscle.
  • Oh my....at 107lbs for your height, I can't imagine you having any spare fat to lose.
  • I never thought of that seska422. THANKS
  • Hey...ya got people talking....HAHAHAHAHA
  • Yes...I have been eating less than 1200 the past several days.
  • rileysowner. Yes, I do have a digital scale that I am using. For things like condiments though I am still using a teaspoon and tablespoon measuring spoon to do it.
  • Am I doing it wrong? I am not eating 1200 calories but would if I wanted more food. I am still fitting in a fast food burger or a processed frozen meal now and then along with all the healthier fresh lean meats. Unfortunately, I am not a fruit and veggie person so it makes it a little more difficult to "eat right" but what…
  • Exactly...most of what I see is people pushing to make sure you get in no less than 1200 for women. I have never seen anyone advocating starving yourself.
  • I have seen some crazy stuff on here and so much conflicting advice that I don't know which way is up so I am doing what feels right for me. I feel great eating the way I am and have more energy than I did before. I do like reading the different discussion threads though. I was just amazed at how many people "know" what…
  • Hell...I am getting yelled at for not eating enough. I used to until I started eating better...Now I get full faster and stay full longer. I am 5'3" and 40lbs overweight and I do not exercise. I have started walking but I just don't see the sense in eating when I am not hungry. If I am hungry, I will eat more...simple
  • Oh...and for the record, I felt like complete CRAP after eating that burger. I felt tired and lethargic...I made myself go out and walk right after and when I sat down and tried standing back up I was dizzy and felt icky for a couple of hours. I won't be doing that again.
  • For the TDEE, I put in that I was mostly sedentary....in the house sitting or laying down most of the time with some walking. I have been going outside a few times a day doing 10 minute walks at 3.5mph. not much but something.
  • Here are my stats. I am 47 year old woman. 5'3" and currently 194lbs. Depending on which of the 3 you look at (they were all fairly close), my BMR ranged from 1489-1577 depending on which of the 3 sites you go by. My TDEE which I guess is the number I need to stay focused on with calorie intake ranges from 1727-1830. If I…
  • You all have been great. I just feel like crap because there is so much information and I have read through many many discussion threads on MFP and just when I think I have a handle on stuff, I find conflicting info and both sides always sound so sure of themselves. I never used to drink plain water...I used my soda stream…
