How many carbohydrates are in your diet? The doctor in my weight loss program wants to "wean me off of sugar." Sugar means sugar and carbohydrates per the food label. The doctor said I am hungry (and subsequently overeat) because my insulin is high. A high insulin level is caused by the intake of sugars and carbohydrates.…

I set a lot of goals for myself at the beginning of January 2016. Two of them were to get on the spin bike every day, and to meditate every day. The spin bike lasted for 1 month. I got discouraged, since I didn't see much progress in terms of weight loss. The meditation lasted for 130+ consecutive days. I noticed profound…

Daily meditation. You could start out doing 5-10 minutes per day. And, work up to 20 or 30 minutes per day. I found that daily meditation made a profound difference in the way that I felt. It's important to do it every day, and get into a consistent practice.

I developed osteoarthritis in both knees from running (1990-94). Now, I swim and I started working out with a personal trainer for dryland strength training. My trainer taught me to keep my lower legs straight up and down, when I do squats. You bend at the waist, and stick your butt back.

Motivated this time to get the weight off. Doing a medical weight loss program, swimming, and working with a personal trainer 1 day per week. Wish me luck! Actually, when I get into weight loss mode, I drop like a rock.
