Is why if it has "government" on it I don't pay attention to it. For goodness sake they can't balance their own checkbook. How they suppose to balance *my* diet. *shakes head* Still can't figure out this nutritionist thing. Think I'm with everyone else. Put her on the unemployment line.

I am new to lowering carbs so I probably can't offer advice that would mean anything to you. I do eat more than you do carb wise. I just wanted to let you know that in the small shift I have made so far, my appetite has decreased quite a lot. My struggle is fats. It's been beat into my had for years that they are bad and I…

Wow you guys are so friendly! I love it! and thank you again. KenSmith - *slaps forehead* For the life of me I kept reading "Dr. Seuss" and totally getting that because of Green Eggs and Ham! I will check this guy out .. thanks .. I think. Your devil and angel has got me wondering though LOL!

Wow - thank you guys. I will definitely take notes on your suggestions and start incorporating them. CarlydogsMom thanks for the detail. That helps me! And Packerjohn. Thanks for that link! That is very useful :)

Thanks everyone! And who knows ... I just may end up there. I may not. But I'm loving the support and information. Working on adjusting my macros a bit. I have them set to 40c/30p/30f right now. I will give that a week and see how it all makes me feel. Feeling well, good health and what's right for me and my body. That's…

I would be very wary of Paxil. Just an FYI ☺ Definitely read the fine print on side effects for weight gain.

I know right? I literally just found this out about myself about a month ago. Eat a bowl of oatmeal because they tell you to. Within an hour I am wanting to knaw hubby's arm off! I'm 54 years old. You'd think I would have caught on. I guess I'm slow on the uptake LOL But it is a great post and very valid for some.

^^ This ... right there.

Feel free to add me! I'm no robot. You'll see me talking mostly in the evenings!

Is there a sample meal plan for a day somewhere that can be looked at?

Chips and salt! Favorite is Dill Pickle chips ... then Ruffles, then Lays, Lays Wavey, Doritos, Tostitos ... and yeah, it goes on and on.

You have to find what works for you. Sometimes it's a trial and error to find out what keeps you satisfied. I've been using MFP for about a month and I don't eliminate anything. I just make sure I stay within my calories. It has been working well so far. I don't feel deprived, I have energy and I'm enjoying it. I went from…

Wow ... great job so far! Keep it up. GO YOU!

I haven't been here long. Before I *officially* started and was getting use to the app and logging, I read a ton of threads here. Do you have to? No, I don't believe you do. Should you? Probably. One thing I've seen over and over again is the closer people get to goal weight the harder time they have loosing OR they flat…

I have to admit I do get food bored. "Here is chicken number 4,859,159". So I do look constantly for ways to spice things up and add a different taste to things. Usually that's only dinner though. Typically I'm good with breakfast and lunch being relatively the same.

Killian's Irish Red with a bag of dill pickle chips. This combo will destroy me. Chips/salt of any kind. I flat out can't moderate them :(

This is a hugely educational thread! Thank you so much!

I'm someone that understands this. I tend to have an obsessive personality and scales are a no go for me. I don't own one any more. Just a food scale! There is something about seeing that number. Now what I do is gauge how I'm doing by clothing fit, how I feel and how my food diary looks. If I want to weigh, I stop by my…

Save the cash, buy a new car :) I actually have tried this. I did feel good on it. I wasn't on it long enough to loose weight or anything like that. Maybe a month at most? Had a free trial from a friend. I did have some more energy. If you like to eat, I mean physically enjoy chewing food and tasting it, it isn't for you.…

I tend to be my own worst enemy. So clearly, I'm my own biggest obstacle LOL

Anyone feel free to add. I'm 54 :)

Am I reading this right? I do hope this is a typo.

Log every day. During the work week I prelog the evening before what I'm taking to work to eat and also my breakfast because I don't have time to mess with logging before work. Dinner I log as I'm making it. Weekends I generally log as it goes into my mouth because if I don't, I'll forget.

@ajourney2luv - I was wondering when someone was going to notice that sodium level LOL. It's definitely an issue for me. I LOVE salt. I was looking over that yesterday and reset my goals on that downward by a large margin. Also I'm rather shocked at how much sodium the Ole Extreme Wellness Tortilla wrap has in it! As well…

Yes and I appreciated them. I was given exactly what I asked for! I am the obsessive type and I want to know exactly what I am dealing with. It might be something I relax on later down the road but for me right now, it's important to be as accurate as possible. If I run across any stumbling blocks I can refer back and see…

@kchartinc - thank you! I agree I tend to be a bit carb heavy. Love avocados! I do eat them but lately they have been icky at the store I usually shop. I will practice with switching some things up. Thank you for taking the time to reply. @RoxieDawn - Thank you! I tend to get confused on the condiments and such whether…

Nice one!

Yup - love me some cheese. Any kind. And it's the ONLY food that if I haven't tried a particular kind I won't hesitate to put it in my mouth. Do have to say I'm not a fan of swiss cheese though. Not sure why.
