Ah yes! Well I don't want to look competition lean (actually, I would love to, but I haven't quite got that level of dedication!) but lean as in maybe get to about 18%-20% body fat. I've always been good at losing large quantities of weight but I've never really shifted the fat so this time I am determinnnned!

Thanks so much for your advice. On this point: 'Yes you can get leaner by recomping, but that's a bit different to getting lean at 4'11" and 120lbs.' do you mean that the only way to get that 'lean' look at my height would be to do a bulk and a cut? Sorry if I sound stupid!

Thanks so much for your reponse. My TDEE is around 1600 and I tend to eat around 1450 so I'll stick with this and see what happens. I aim for 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight (have been doing that for about 2 weeks now) but do need to get better at hitting my other macros. Sounds like I'm sort of doing the right…

My question... anyone who knows a bit about body recomping, do you think I'm ready to do so or should I lose weight first? I'm 4ft 11in, aged 24, female, 120lbs, BMI of 24, body fat of 25%, have been weight training 4x a week for about 2 months, walk every day and do cardio for an hour on a Saturday. I don't mind my…

I'm in :) Age: 24 120 lbs 4ft 11ins Aim: To lose body fat and gain muscle. I want to look lean :) If that means losing weight too then that's fine but as my BMI is healthy it's more about the aesthetics for me as opposed to the scale! I eat between 1,400 - 1,600 calories a day and work out about 5 times a week x

I do weights 4 times a week and an hour of cardio on top of that (bokwa, which I love and just do for fun really, not the fitness benefits, although it burns a hell of a lot of calories!) I also walk at least 10k-12k steps per day

Feel free to add me too! I'm not aiming to lose weight necessarily but I am trying to maintain weight/lose fat and gain a ton of muscle :)

4'11, weight 120lbs, about 27% body fat. I weight train 4x per week, walk for 40 mins about 5x a week and I do an hour of cardio on Saturdays. I'm trying to get lean and gain muscle, so I'm eating about 1,400 a day. I think this should be more but I am SO FULL at the moment so slowly increasing.

Yeah I saw that lol... I used the scooby one instead :)

I'll try! It's leg day today, so hopefully that'll work me up some more of an appetite.

Thanks so much for all your input. Today I increased my calories to 1400 on here and on my Fitbit, I know I'm going to struggle to eat that much but I'm going to try! I already feel so full and it's only lunch, haha!

Ok thanks TeaBea. Also thanks J72Fit. I guess it's because I'm so short I'm literally always advised to eat no more than about 1,300. Hard to get used to. I will start increasing :#

Thanks TeaBea! My body fat percentage is quite high. I think it's like, 27% or something like that. I am a typical 'skinny fat' person. So in order to lose this fat and gain muscle, you're saying I should eat around 1,600 Cals a day? Even if I want to lose the fat? (I'm so used to yoyo dieting over the years it's a hard…
