  • Team Pie - heads up, I typically try to ride into work on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.. get a ride in on Saturday and for the sake of this challenge I will try (TRY) to get myself out on my typical off days to go at least 10 miles.
  • My thingy posted twice.. so ah, just deleting that, sorry!

  • I'm interested in this. I'm commuting to work 3 times a week, 23.8 miles, in preparation for a 204 miler in July. I will set up a Strava account tonight and figure out how to get it to work with my Garmin. https://www.strava.com/athletes/toughmudderaddict
  • 3/1 - 9.3 miles (hot chocolate 15k - 1 hour 25 minutes) 3/3 - 3 miles 12.3 miles done - Goal 75-104 miles
  • Alright, alright, alright.. I'm in.. for something like 75 miles and if I truly follow the plan I have it will be more like 100.
  • Just ordered a pair of Woolie Boolies after reading through this post. I can't wait to get them in the mail! I froze my feet off last year riding to work, none of that this year.
  • It is almost time for my own commute to work to start for the season. My commute is 25ish miles one way and then I usually take the bus home (with my bike - work gives us a huge discount for the bus so it's practically free). Give yourself a lot more time than you think you're going to need to arrive to work on time. The…
  • I have the 610 and I like it when it works. I believe there was a time zone update that messed the whole world up but I've found workarounds and am able to use it again for more than 2 miles..... yay. I suggest staying away from the 610 for now.
  • So, I'm not in Europe BUT! I use a light that was originally designed to fit on my bike handle bars.. Google search "Serfas Silicone USB bicycle head light" and you'll find something very similar to what I use - this easily slips around my finger and lights up my way, I don't have to physically be holding it as it just…
  • I run the same route around the same time every other day or so.. In doing so I know who is a "regular" out for their daily walk with the dog or alone and who looks like they don't belong. I guess it depends where you live though. I am running in a residential area that is fairly quiet but not dead by any means.

  • I do most of my running in the dark due to my work schedule and the sun not correlating to my liking and it's kind of nice actually.. I carry a small light that I originally purchased for biking but it wasn't bright enough to use on my bike (I need to see quite a bit ahead of me for biking, not so much for running). This…
  • My short term goals (next few months) are a 15K in the beginning of March and a half in April. Long term I would like to do a full marathon.. maybe this summer.
  • Oh hey! It took me forever to find my way back to the challenge but here I am! I'm starting up training again so my monthly goal is.. 35 this month. 01/07 - 2 miles 01/08 - 2 miles 01/10 - 3 miles 01/12 - 2 miles 9 of 35 miles down.
  • I have runtastic but I've never created a route before going out to run! Therefore, I can't answer your question but I did want to say that I love the app!
  • This makes me sad. I ate a WHOLE Snickers Peanut Butter Squared or whatever the heck they are called just this past weekend and when I want to eat a candy bar I fricken eat that *kitten* and cut back on something else. ETA - How can you throw it away  haha
  • This for sure. Some days it takes a whole lot to get my butt out there however, once I'm out there I wouldn't rather be anywhere else. All the stress melts away and I can just zone out.... until the car over there, that one - right there ---> Yeah that jerk, he doesn't see me because he's not looking and ... "oh…
  • This. I don't typically eat breakfast and the past 3 times I've done TM I've eaten McDonald's oatmeal on the way there (2 hours prior to event time) and that has done fantastic for me.. but that's me. I'll probably eat some oatmeal for number 4 which will occur on the 27th.
  • If I didn't run in the rain I wouldn't be able to run outside for the majority of the year.. (Seattle).. I was forced to stop running after winding up in a cast (broken foot from over training for a half marathon and doing Insanity constantly). Running on a treadmill is not for me unless I'm trying to work on specific…
  • I live in Seattle thus running in the great outdoors in the winter requires one to run in the rain constantly. My advice to you is this: Do not wear cotton. Cotton will get wet, heavy, cause chaffing and not dry. Same for your socks and under garments, no cotton!! Some people prefer to wear a hat with a brim on rainy days…
  • Tough Mudder #4 coming up on the 27th. My advice to you is... Just enjoy it. It's not a race. Don't psych yourself out about any of the obstacles - don't think about the millions of ice pieces in Arctic Enema, just jump in, hold your breath, dive under, and get the F out. Don't eat anything you haven't trained with already…
