I think, too, people have no concept of weight in general. Like, I weigh 318 and 328 a few weeks ago. I'm also 6' tall. So while I'm very clearly overweight, people are FLOORED when I Say the actual number. Even at my lightest when I was 17 I was 180 and only slightly pudgy in the stomach and people would make comments…

I'm younger, 26, but I'm 6' tall and married to someone much shorter. I generally don't know many other women near my height, and it's definitely been a struggle in some aspects.

I drink core power protein shakes but not as a replacement. I find that drinking my calories does not at all satisfy my feelings of hunger, so I don't use it as a meal. I just use shakes as a suppliment to my diet.

I wonder if you're much shorter than me because i, as a 6' tall female who started at 328 and currently is 318, eat 2400 calories a day and I've lost 3lbs a week foe 3 weeks. I'm sure it'll taper off but hey I'm happy. I don't log my workouts yet because in the past I over rewarded myself with food for workouts and I need…

I benched 135lbs yesterday. It had been a year long goal since I started with a bench of 95lbs. It also looks super badass with the big plates on there so I was stoked all day yesterday.

I LOVE Lane Bryant's high impact sports bras, but they have the underwire. They're the first sports bra where I didn't feel squished, was supported, comfortable, breathable. Thick straps, enough clasps. I just dig on them. They have some underwire free but I stay away from that because I just hate it.

Yes, but only the workouts I want to do, and usually after the fact. Hate the hell out of cardio and will be grumpy start to finish, but lifting is my heart. I love lifting. About 3/4 into my workout I'm cranky and want to stop, but at the end I get that lovely endorphin kick I always heard of but never experienced until I…

This is hard for me too but in general: if my stomach makes actual noise, I need to be eating more. If I think I'm hungry and I drink a whole ton of water and am OK, I'm just bored or cranky about logging or something. To me, it sounds like you aren't eating enough in general because I do not experience that acute level of…

I do my best to log every day but I am human and do not always. I'm on a 20 day streak where I have logged the good and bad every day so that's something.

I eat usually about 2100 a day and I am losing fairly quickly still (I'm over 300lbs though). I also powerlift a few times a week and eat more than that on those days. Oh, and I'm 6' so 2100 calories is a big deficit for me right now.
-
I feel like that isn't a lot of calories at all, what are your stats like weight height etc.? I snack all day rather than 3 meals because even though I eat the same amount it just makes me feel better to graze as the day goes by. A 6lb loss is still 6lbs that you didn't gain. It is still great progress. 3lbs a month is…

Any activity you do that is more than you were doing before will help. But all you need to do to lose weight is eat less than your burn. So you can workout all you want, if you eat too much it won't help at all.

I don't think weight loss surgery is necessarily an easy way out, it just isn't feasible or the right choice for people. On MFP I personally haven't met anyone who has had any kind of wls, and it isn't something that I've considered for myself at any point but not because I don't think it has merit, it just isn't the right…
-
Yeah I would say I have to lose over 100lbs. It's been just a couple weeks that I've been back on mfp for it and having a friend list definitely helps. Anyone can feel free to add me, I'm a 6' amazon with a long way to go still.

Oh hey. I know where Gurnee is, I grew up in Wheaton and live a bit further south than that now.

So I visited AZ in March, I'm from Chicagoland and not used to heat at all. Hiking in the 90 degree days was....terrible. I drank so much water. But, I bet because you are more fit and more used to the climate, you can handle better heat. So use sunblock, drink so much water, avoid too much direct sunlight, and do what you…

My husband when he was growing up with his brothers used to put butter on saltine crackers. He said this started at restaurants where they gave you bread before your meal, but his parents wouldn't let them "spoil their appetite" with the bread so they switched to the soup crackers. It baffles me. I cannot even comprehend…

All I know is I sure as heck can't run, and maybe that spastic thing I can do that gets me faster than a walk would be considered a jog? It's like..barely faster than my walk but hey. Gotta start with something.

I mean, I'm 6' tall, though female and heavier than you are by about 40lbs and I eat 2100 a day which is a goal to lose 1.5 a week so I'm thinking you should be eating more. How accurate is your logging? As in, do you weigh all your solid food, measure liquids, all that good stuff? You might be eating more than you think…

So much more water. More calories ( About 4 years ago I lost about 50lbs by eating 1600 a day which is so low for my height and I gained it all back with interest). Training for a power lifting competition next year. Cook at home more.

I spray oil and I never put anything on pasta? This is a thing? Learn something new every day. I make scampi sometimes without oil but then again if I don't know what I'm missing maybe that's why? I honestly have no idea.
-
Also 26 and I have no idea how much I want to lose because my goals are no longer entirely weight related, but I'm 6' and started at 328 so definitely a lot of body fat to get rid of. Anyone can feel free to add me but I'm not sure how exciting I am hah

I dunno. I did this before and was great and when I tried to start a couple months ago I just had a really hard time actually doing it. I didn't start again until just over 2 weeks ago and I've been super successful with it so far but I'm not sure what happened in my brain that made it finally be a priority for me again. I…

I take a generic multivitamin, prescription strength vitamin d (50000mg), magnesium, and calcium. Taking all these still leaves me deficient because I have absorption issues and if I don't take these I have serious issues. I get my bloodwork done every 6 months because of this, so I'm not sure if I count as I take vitamins…

I put it in my deviled eggs recipe but that's 100% the only time I ever have it.

I don't find it monotonous but I mostly lurk and don't really talk. A few years ago when I was on under a different username I posted TONS but not so much on this one. -shrug- I don't mind, but I also don't need/want a lot of social stimulation.

I have a watch-Samsung Gear Fit 2-and while in itself it was not a magic gadget that made me do better, I find that when I wear it I am more likely to get my butt up and do more than just sit around. I like it. I don't use it to log calorie burns, but it helps me with my activity level. It also helps me monitor my anxiety…

I would like to know this, too. I was thinking about updating every 10lbs or so because I am starting so heavy but really that was just an arbitrary number I decided on.

Oh my gosh I have the same issue and it's driving me insane. Never had much acne as a teen but my skin is AWFUL lately. I'm dairy free and eating much better (as in, cut the greasy fast foods and that kind of stuff but still eat sometimes freezer meals, etc.). It's been terrible.

Start weight lifting whenever you want, just start easy, make sure your form is great, and it will be fine. I'm 321 and I have been powerlifting for about 1.5 years now, first with a trainer, then in my garage. It's fantastic.
