DEXA scans only cost me $50...

No it did not. I'm on a keto diet for epilepsy (I have to) which I've been on for around a year and gained about 40 pounds since I started (am 153). I very recently lost some weight but most likely from bowel issues that I've been having. During my lowest weight (was 115) most of my diet was processed food (along with some…

I'm taking lower doses now. I've been doing keto for around a year. The only downfall (in my keto experience) is I gained almost 40 pounds. During my lowest weight, I was vegan and a volume eater, also ate lots of processed foods (seizures were more frequent though).

My seizures decreased on keto diet (I have epilepsy).

I'm currently keto (epilepsy). You can add me if you want.

Fat does not bother me. Only fiber bothers my GP. Everyone who has GP will have their own severity of it. Your's sounds pretty bad. Do what you need to do to manage your symptoms xoxo

My point is it's not for everyone. OP is encouraging others to try it and making statements as to why we should. My response is basically why I cannot.

Last time I ate starch, my blood sugar crashed. And my digestive issues got worse.

Go see a doctor. A GOOD one. I fell into the whole "eat more fiber" trap, until I finally found an educated doctor who tested me for SIBO, colonic inertia (IBS-C), and Gastroparesis. Fiber needs to be avoided at all costs with these conditions or constipation will worsen and transit time will slow even further. I suggest…

@kpk54 I used coconut oil to make fat bombs. I'm sorry the coconut oil didn't agree with you :( have you been tested for any digestive issues as well? Different digestive problems can and can't handle different foods.

Its a possibility that my seizures are due to low blood sugar, although ive had seizures since age 7. I dont have diabetes but my father does. I have reactive hypoglycemia, epilepsy, IBS, Gastroparesis, and SIBO. Veggies, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds, beans, wheat, and most dairy makes me look 5 months pregnant along with…

I'm currently on a keto diet for my epilepsy which is a bit different than the standard keto. For neuro conditions it's 80-90% fat, 5-15% protein, 0-5% carbs (which is what I'm following). Fat doesn't fill be up like protein/carbs do unfortunately. The good thing though is my seizures have been decreasing. Surprisingly,…

I went from extreme pear at 190 to hourglass at 117. Most of the excess weight was stored in my lower half. Looked very disproportionate before losing weight.

Jumping to conclusions? Lol

Go by weekly calories, instead of daily.
-
I use the Fast Tract Diet occasionally which has foods listed in accordance to their rate of digestion time and fermentation. Ps- be careful. 95% of MFP users have no empathy for people with GP and will assume it's an eating disorder. I've taken my fair share of cyber beatings here lol. Inb4thewoos (aka denial)

Why are you trying to stay away from sweets? Is it allergies or are you afraid? Sometimes when you view a food as bad, it can cause you to want it even more (and possibly overeat it when you do). A good strategy is to make room in your daily calories for a dessert. For example, one of my favorite desserts is Ben & jerry's…

I have severe digestive issues. People say to eat more fiber, fruits, veggies, lean meat, and drink more water. What they fail to understand is in my case, fiber makes it 100x worse as does tough meats. And drinking lots of water makes no difference. The unhealthier I eat, the better I feel and less hospital trips I make.…

Am 5'6 (F) and currently 151 pounds with a 24 bmi, however I deal with chronic constipation and will go up to three weeks without... Anyways, am a size 0-2 in pants and XS in tops when not bloated. Idk my body fat but idc. Ultimate goal is to fix this problem so I can get back to my former weight of 117 before developing…

That's good you found what helps you. I tried low carb in the past as well and gained 30 pounds. My current eating habits are 90% what people consider junk food and lose weight no problem. Low carb made me miserable.

Yeah, his physique says otherwise lol. If he was truly undereating, he would look like a concentration camp survivor, not someone energetic and lean with a 6-pack. If you go to many other countries actually, they're food intake isn't even as high as America. It's not undereating. It's our standards. What's considered…

After several traumatic events, I developed PTSD and was diagnosed with low cortisol which is a symptom of Addisons Disease. There are medications provided. Adrenal burnout is a thing.

I got to my lowest weight on 1,000-1,200 net calories and wasn't hurt in the process. All health markers are good. My friend actually eats less than me (because of his very busy schedule along with naturally low appetite). He's shredded.

Yeah it's depressing :( I used to fit in 00 two years ago but am now a size 2 apparently (sigh).

My mother used to be a model. She knows her stuff and won't hesitate to be blunt.

If by running away you mean leaving MFP for a while because medical circumstances, lack of storage space, or personal life situations then yes I run sometimes. I don't mind hearing/seeing what others have to say though (even if the comments are rude). Have spent most of my life being verbally and physically abused so forum…

I have a small lower pudge :(

What's a good goal then? Thanks for explaining by the way.

Yeah I'll admit that was my mistake. 109 isn't a good goal considering my lbm is 110 (last time checked). But I'm fine with 115 because I'll still technically have my lbm. And to answer your question, possibly. I just weighed in at 150.6. My weight has technically been climbing since the end of 2015 (with the occasional…

I stopped the resistance training because of chronic fatigue. My calories range from 1,200 to 1,400 which is fine because I'm currently sedentary and I don't have much of an appetite with chronic nausea.
