There's no benefit to it aside from indirectly helping someone eat less calories. IF depends on the person. Some people prefer it while others don't. My boyfriend for example loves it. He eats one meal a day which helps him eat less. He's lost over 50 pounds. Me? I can't do it. In fact, last time I tried IF, I almost died…

Eating unprocessed foods can backfire when dieting.

If you need a low sodium snack to hold you off, eat a cucumber and/or a bowl of shirataki noodles. Or chug coffee. This is what I do.

When they say too much exercise hurts results, they're referring to water retention, cravings, mental health, etc. I used to exercise a lot (both weight lifting and cardio). My progress was masked by extreme water retention. My thighs swelled. My face puffed up. I got bloated. Went to the doctors. Got tests run. My…

I'm not a parent but my mom was a SAHM. She cooked strictly whole foods and wouldn't keep any processed food in the house. She never brought fast food home either nor took me out to places that had fast food. It was either "eat healthy and finish your plate or don't eat at all". The end result led to frequent binging on…

For me it's the opposite. It's easier to diet when I eat whatever I want while staying under my calories. I tried that with healthy filling foods but ended up overeating on them because I was subconsciously trying to fill a mental void (that void being variety and flexibility). Now I make sure to get 1 gram of protein…

I can't intermittent fast, at least not without health consequences. Last time I tried IF, I almost went into a hypoglycemic coma (was hospitalized). That's when I stopped completely.

I mentioned in my post that my profile pic isn't recent. I just never changed it lol. I'm 160 now (picture of me standing forward).
-
Thanks. That was actually going to be my next question. It's not just my family/friends/etc that's making the decision hard for me. It's whether or not I'm now at certain health risks because of my current weight.
-
I avoid them.
-
I've been both obese and underweight. When I was obese, I would get compliments from women and picked on by men. When I was underweight, I would get compliments from men and picked on by women.

Drama for today: My best friend's dog died today. She messaged me, crying. I've known them both for 10 years. R.I.P. buddy. 😭🐕🐶💜

Either all or almost all. It was a long list. Many of the suggestions actually came from low carb groups and bowel disorder groups on facebook. Also links, research, diabetic books, IBS books, etc. Lots of reading and experimenting.
-
Correct, I do. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who does though (i.e. some of the other commenters who are mentioning their IBS). But really, I've tried everything. Monk fruit extract, sucralose, xylitol, erythritol, aspartame, maltitol, and more that i can't think of at the moment. Only stevia and sugar get along with…

How often do I have cheat days? Almost daily. My diet is mostly junk food lol.

That's what happens to me when I DO eat fiber. Have experienced 20+ pound obstructions before.
-
Fiber constipates me (no matter how much water I drink). Fiber is unnecessary roughage and taxing to the intestines. I've dramatically lowered fiber and am finally having regular bowel movements and less bloating/pain.
-
Fiber is unnecessary
-
Considering you don't believe in large bowel obstructions, let's hope it never happens to you.
-
Sugar gives you diarrhea. 😬 Maybe this is one of the many reasons that so many people these days try to avoid it. 🤔

I hate steak 🤢

I agree. They don't take muscle into consideration. There's also bowel diseases, tumors, excessive water retention, and other possibilities that can substantially make a large error in the individual's real weight. I've had 20+ pound blockages that had to be medically removed. Made a large difference in BMI but not in my…

Sorry if that confused you. By end of the weekdays, I meant by Friday or Saturday morning (usually before a carb up). I do weigh on only the mornings.

I LOL'd!!! 🤣

Abusive ex boyfriend is trying to sue me for breaking up with him (he claims it did damages that affected his job, pay, hobbies, and quality of life). I recently had to use the last of my savings to hire a defense lawyer, which is hard enough considering I'm trying to finish college here. I'm surprised even he found a…

My two favorite quotes: "If you can't control it, don't worry about it." "The less you care, the happier you'll be."
-
Ha. This reminds me of when I used to be obese (and very large in size). People still complimented me and encouraged me to be happy with who I am and that I looked great, etc. As someone with PCOS, Hypothyroidism, and with T2 diabetes running in my family, if I were to have just listened to them and not lost 50+ pounds and…

Warm liquids have helped me. Tea, coffee, almond milk, light hot cocoa, broth, etc. Gives me a full sensation for very little calories. Then I'm no longer interested in snacking.
