There's these pics too. Most recent on the right. My stomach has been distending several inches after meals, lately. If anyone here can relate or went through similar, please share xoxo

I do weigh and log. In fact, after cutting out the fat bombs and cream cheese while replacing with lots of nonstarchy veggies, my calories actually lowered slightly (200-300 less). Even if I was miscalculating, 20 pounds in a month seems very off.

Thank you, everyone, for the suggestions. I'll try them out (well, the ones I probably can). I see my neurologist in 4 weeks. No sooner availabilities. I've had epilepsy since early childhood, by the way (after a head injury when I was 5 or 6) so it's not a result of dieting. And as for my former weight of 117, I felt more…

Thanks, will do. I see her in a month (her next availability). Will try my best to hang in there in the meantime.

I mentioned earlier that I did try counting on keto here and there but it's hard to stick to. I feel constantly hungry and thinking about food all the time (something I never did on my former eating, when unfortunately I was having lots of seizures). Maybe my stomach is super stretched out? Idk :(
-
If I didn't have epilepsy, I would stop keto and do WFPB in a heartbeat (which is high volume, low fat). Everyone gets full differently.
-
I've had epilepsy since age 7.

Post meal bg is good on keto. It's the fasting I can't do.
-
Thank you for the link. :) My current goal weight is 125 by the way.

I used coconut oil for a while. Not anymore. As for intermittent fasting, I can't do it. I have non-diabetic hypoglycemia (doctor doesn't know why) and the longer I go without eating, the more my blood sugar continues to drop. It hit 24mg/dl the last time I went 20 hours without eating (was following 20:4) which produced a…

Another thing to add. I got updated bloodwork done. Before keto (on my high carb, mainly plant based diet), my fasting insulin was 4. My recent fasting insulin is now 11. People say keto is supposed to lower insulin, not raise it but I suspect it's from the weight gain.

Dietary approach before keto (left) and current (right). Weight/size before keto, 117 (left) and recent, 151 (right). I feel more sluggish.

Will too much protein kick me out of ketosis? Lots of people say that but idk if its true.
-
Yes, I've learned lol.
-
That's a good idea but I may get kicked out of ketosis if I eat too many veggies? It seems like a catch-22.
-
Yes and no. I'm a volume eater. It's easier for me to stick with a diet if I feel physically full (that "satieted" feeling people swear by on keto never really came to me). Hence, why I adhere to calorie deficits a lot better the more plant based I go.
-
I was told calories dont matter on keto. Granted, I do still occasionally count despite what people swear by "no need to count." But calorie deficit seems a lot harder on keto as opposed to my former, higher volume lower calorie diet. I'm a volume eater.

Work as in for weight loss? If so, often yes. Because it helps certain people indirectly eat less. Work medically? Yes. I'm on keto (not for weight loss) and my epilepsy is under much better control. My chronic migraines have significantly reduced as well.

My BMI was 25 back in 2016 (I mentioned that already). Its not anymore. The blockage is gone.
-
Not true. I follow a keto diet (for my epilepsy) and most days are actually close to zero carb. I used to be vegan/vegetarian and had the worst digestive issues I've ever experienced. The main one being chronic constipation, despite how much water I drank. Now my meat, egg, cheese, fats, diet not only has reduced my…

Yes. A couple of years ago, my GI doctor thought their scale was broken because I'm a small size (2) and was 25 pounds overweight. It was an intestinal blockage (that ended up bring removed).
-
I was overweight by 25 pounds in 2016. Am a size 2 and was back then as well. I had a huge blockage in my intestines that had to be removed. Lost the weight immediately. BMI is not helpful. Edit: Woo= denial. Lol. It's ok if you don't believe me. My medical records are stashed away anyways ;)

Well, I'm doing keto for my epilepsy. My seizures have gone from weekly to every 2 months despite being on the same medications. I don't have any weight to lose. I wouldn't call it a craze and I will definitely stay on it. It's either that or end up back in the hospital with temporary partial paralysis again after grandmal…

Lethal injection. Quick and convenient. It's better than dying a slooowwwwwwww and painful death.
-
I'm on keto and my seizures have reduced. I couldn't be happier. Why so much judgement? If you took a look at my updated medical records, you guys would sing a different tune before you go around bashing people's eating habits again.

I want to get back into modeling. In 2015, after losing 70 pounds (going from overweight to underweight), an agency took me right away. But after two abusive relationships, I've regained half the weight. Was a size 00 and am now a 4. Granted, I've been doing weightlifting and got an updated DEXA scan and apparently some of…

I always lose from my waist first and thighs last. But my body is extremely stubborn. It's to the point where my thighs are 20 inches each and my waist is 23. My upper body looks semi-anorexic (ribs, x-small, etc) while my lower body is medium size and covered in cellulite. My top and bottom half look like they came from…

Getting to a low body fat%. Yes, I know how weight loss works (CICO) but in a nutshell: I used to be obese at almost 200 pounds and 43% body fat. I got down to 117-121 pounds (bordering underweight) by 20 months and was at 27% body fat with an undernourished physique. No MFP or logging at the time. Just undereating, kinda…

Thanks! :) And congrats, that's amazing progress! Just take it one step at a time with building muscle. Here's a collage if that helps at all (my current weight fluctuates between 150-155.

I joined MFP to make adjustments and learn more about macros/percentages. Although I was at a comfortable weight after intuitive eating, I was skinny-fat. Since then (while using MFP) I've re-gained half of what I lost. My ultimate goal is to get really lean (not to be confused with skinny-fat).
