No it does not. I got fat by "clean eating" without counting calories, because I was in surplus. I lost all the excess weight (50 pounds plus more) by counting calories while eating whatever I want. My fasting blood sugar was also prediabetic when I was overweight while "clean eating". It's now lowered dramatically and…

Eat what you love, even if its "unhealthy." It's better than depriving yourself. Everything in moderation.

That's exactly how I lost 70 pounds and went from 190 to 117. No, I wasn't intentionally following a "junk food diet" that I was aware of. I just do better eating mainly junk food lol. When I was very overweight, I was following low-carb, paleo, and keto which I ended up gaining more weight (calorie surplus obviously) and…

Bad food choices don't make you fat. A calorie surplus does. I was obese while following all the diet traps/trends (low-carb, Paleo, Keto, etc). I didn't lose weight until I started monitoring my calories while eating whatever I want (yes, I eat "junk" food every day lol). I went from 187 to 117.

Define cheat meal? I have food allergies that give me rashes and other symptoms, yet every once in a while I give in by eating something I'm allergic to because I miss being able to eat it when I was younger. My skin and digestive system pays for it later though...

Sorry to butt in but after reading all of these comments, my question is...how do you all handle these sweeteners, diet sodas/candies, etc? Everytime I drink a diet soda or use sweetener, my stomach pays for it later... :s every single time.

This seems to go against Lyle's rapid fat loss protocol (PSMF).

I once went through similar in the past (before a diagnosis). I had a 14 pound blockage in my intestines that "masked" weight loss. It had to be removed of course. @ OP- if this continues, see a doctor. Don't listen to those who think black and white. "Physics, physics, physics." Um, what happened to medical circumstances,…

I currently eat a diet void of fruits (with exception on melon and bananas), vegetables (except lettuce), legumes, and whole grains. Its also very low in dietary fats. My diet consists of lean proteins, refined carbs, water, juice (no pulp), jello, Ensure and Orgain nutritional drinks, lowfat dairy, and a few type of…

As someone with gastroparesis, I (and probably nearly everyone from a Facebook group of digestive disorders) can attest that fasting indeed cleanses the body, at least under extreme conditions. Liquid diets can be beneficial as well. Weight loss can happen but that's why nutritional drinks like Ensure and Orgain exist.

egg whites, low fat cheese, low fat ice cream, english muffins, jam, PB2, italian ice, low fat cottage cheese, jello, etc. To sum it up, low fiber and low fat foods. Easy on my digestive system.

I could be considered pear shaped (or not). I don't know but anyways, my ratio is 0.63 and am 5'6. Originally lost over 70 pounds then bulked and recomped and now re-losing some of my bulk pounds (only 5-10 to go).

Congrats on your weight loss. The truth is obvious, and I can definitely relate. Idk exactly what you eat but my staples consists of foods like Cheezits, low-fat ice cream, Jell-O, white bread, canned veggies, egg whites, etc and am losing weight. I use coconut oil on my skin and hair though. Has made a huge difference.

It's all individual and depends on mass, body fat %, bone density, etc. Everyone will have different goals and ideal weights, even those at the same gender and height. I'm 5'6 and started in 2013 at 187, went down to 115, then bulked to 130-135, then recomped for a while (staying between 133-135). After that, I bulked to…

THIS! No routine for me either. Living life to the fullest. Routines are boring as heck. Not retired though. Only 25 lol.

Weight loss is determined by calorie deficit, although if you have digestive issues (GERD, Gastritis, IBS, etc), I would advise for small frequent meals (experience).
-
And how do you know? OP's diary looks similar to how I eat (I have gastroparesis). It's very difficult to eat adequate amounts with gastric issues. God forbid you experience it (inb4 you say you have lol).
-
How long has this been going on? If you're truly having difficulties and are sure your calculations are correct, I would seek medical help (especially if you've been feeling unwell in addition). I had a similar situation where I wasn't losing for a month despite calorie deficit and exercise. In fact, I was actually…

Agreed, although it gets more difficult the less b/f you have to lose. I get DXA scans every year since 2013. I started out as obese (187 lb and 42% bf). Next scan (2014) was 133 lb and 27% bf. Next scan (2015) 135 lb and 23% bf. Most recent scan (2016) 133 lb and 20%. Lean mass has been slowly increasing according to DXA…

Not true. I wasn't losing for over a month while in a deficit despite staying the same size (actually a bit thinner everywhere with the exception of my stomach). Recently had an intestinal blockage of approximately 14 pounds medically/surgically removed. Please don't be so quick to judge OP. It's not always black and…

Low fat diet for me. Granted, I personally enjoy dietary fats from past experience, that ship has sailed now. Have been put on a low fat diet for medical purposes. No more than 30-40 grams a day (gastroparesis).
