Yeah, restaurant calories are outrageous! That's why I always take at least half of the meal home. My bf and I went to Red Robin the other week and I took half of the veggie burger, fries, and broccoli home. And buffets are just a waste of my time (and money) lol...

My BMR is around 1370-1380. My TDEE is 1,800-2,000.

I've been on 1,000-1,200 calories without any binges and burn 1,800-2,000 according to fitbit. Eating high fiber foods and high volume, low calorie foods (lots of produce) helps. So does protein. As for desserts/treats, I usually make my own, otherwise I'll buy Alyssa's vegan bites at a local Publix. And no, 1,200 is not…

If cravings and binging are from low calories then I'm beyond far overdue (and confused why I only did it when eating higher calories). Ironic twist.

Yep, upper half leaned out after losing the originally 55-60 pounds when I was overweight (not counting the additional 7) and occasional lifting. Lower half still needs work because that's the less lean area. Have been including yoga and running to work on leaning out my legs and bottom and to squats with light weights.…

So fruits/veggies/whole grains aren't healthy? Ok...
-
Would you say the same to all the other plant eaters who, by chance, eat low calorie but who operate just fine on a daily basis? Why is it ok to bash vegetarians/vegans? It happens so much :/
-
I never feel hungry since going mainly plant. May go full vegan soon. Still contemplating :)

You're theoretically making fun of my sister's face (and sickly is harsh).

Cravings and binging often occurs when the body is lacking a certain vitamin. Example: chocolate cravings are a sign of magnesium deficiency (mine went away when I increased magnesium rich foods). My years of binging and crazy cravings came to a complete stop when I switched to a whole, mainly plant-based diet with…

It sounds fine to me, as long as YOU'RE comfortable with it. I'm 5'6 and eat around the same amount of calories as you. After experimenting with different calorie amounts and different foods, I've noticed a low calorie (mostly plant-based) lifestyle works best for me because with all the nutrients, I no longer feel…

Depriving, yes. Low calorie, no. They are two separate things. I've been losing weight on low calorie without even trying (while not feeling deprived) and my weight is already on the low end of healthy. Just saying.

I can handle dairy only if its from goat for some reason. Any other dairy gives me digestive upset. So I mainly eat eggs as animal by product, with goat cheese. Ps- my day so far (I tried eating more "dense" foods while less veggies than I normally do). Breakfast- protein shake which totaled to 400 calories and 65 grams of…

By low carb, do you (personally) mean total or net? Because my total ranges from 60-80 (sometimes more), but my net ranges from 20-30 (sometimes less). This is because of massive amounts of fiber. I'm a vegetarian and love plant-based foods. If you go by net, maybe you can increase fiber so you can still eat a fairly…

Thank you for this helpful advice. Would a protein powder be good enough for muscle building?
-
Hmm... Would a competition work then? They tend to eat very low calorie. And the transformations looks great!

Veggies and fruits! For example, lots of cooked veggies with meals. Raw veggies with dip instead of chips. And fruits as snacks. My calories are lower than your's (average of 1,000). I never feel hungry. Am vegetarian by the way so I replace meat calories with low calorie, high volume fruits/veggies. And make sure to get…

Not really trying to lose more weight. In fact, I was 132 a month ago and unintentionally lost 7 more pounds. My plan is a recomp. I lift, run, and sprint. Have leaned out a bit but am still "skinny-fat" in certain areas. I just like eating this way. I haven't been vegetarian for long but I enjoy the switch I made. It's…

I don't think so. I use Walden Farms almost every day by the way. No bad after taste either (in my opinion), and hasn't hindered any results.

Nothing. I'm too nauseous in the morning to eat. I eat my "breakfast" for lunch lol. Sometimes I'll log it as breakfast though and just eat a snack later then log it as lunch. My first meal is usually half a cup of oatmeal (150 calories, 27 carbs, 3 fat, 5 protein, 0 sodium, 4 fiber) ground cinnamon tablespoon (18…

I really suggest you get a DEXA scan. I'm 5'6 and started at around 190 lb and 42% body fat with measurements of 38-36-42. In 2014 I was down to 125 lb but body fat was 27% and measurements of 35-25-38. I'm currently 134 lb and 22% body fat with measurements of 32-23-34, and have gained 10 pounds of muscle since 2014. Do…

Dairy free, yes (I'm allergic). Sugar-free, it depends. I've learned moderation is key. If I consume something with refined sugar, its around workouts. There was actually a time I did an experiment for a few days by eating nothing but Ben and Jerry's dairy-free ice cream and kept it to a 1400 calorie max. No weight gain.

Am 5'6. I've been recomping for over a year (slow). Started recomp after losing too much weight. Originally attempted a crash diet with minimal exercise of any kind when I was obese at 190. I lost over 70 pounds, was lacking nutrition, lean mass, and was eating around 600-800 calories a day. Still had lots of body bad…

I'm 5'6 and started at around 200 so can relate in a way. Lost over 50 pounds and half my body fat (am 130 now). If you need any advice or inspiration, I'll help :)

Thanks for your helpful answer. That's a good point now that I think about it. And to answer your question, I got tested at two places. One was DuBois Regional Medical Center in PA. Another was in Clearfield/Jefferson Head and Neck Surgical Associates INC in PA. They're skin reaction tests. The doctors are…

My symptoms are mostly constipation but it also depends on what I eat. For example: Dairy or gluten = constipation, bloat, and cramps Salad = diarrhea Certain fruits = cramps Sweet potatoes and certain gains = cramps and gas Nut butters and fatty meats = any of the above

Thanks for the input. But how will I stay regular then?
-
Yes I did this when I got closer to my goal weight. I just ate what MFP gave me for maintenance and didn't eat exercise calories back. According to my most recent DEXA scan, I've gained 10 pounds of muscle and body fat went down an additional 5%. Also, I lost more inches. Recomp :)

Whey comes from dairy. I'd rather not chance it. Even one bite of dairy makes me really ill. Do you have a full recipe (measurements and all) for homemade protein bars?
-
You can cause metabolic damage though. Take it from someone who's been anorexic before.
