Walking outside in nature helps me tremendously. It helped me get off anti anxiety medicine and I actually feel much better just doing my walking than I ever did on the medication. Edited to fix a typo :)

A great place I like to find healthy recipes is www.skinnytaste.com - it's all free, tons of awesome recipes that are pretty easy to make and very tasty. They also all have their nutrition info posted, so it's easy to track. That was the biggest change I made when I started at the beginning of January (started at 305lbs) -…

Sorry you got thrown into the PCOS club, but there are a lot of us here who can relate. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005 when I was 18 years old, just heading off to college. In that time, I've learned a lot about how PCOS affects MY body. And that's the thing - PCOS affects every BODY differently. Some women deal with…

I'm taller and weigh more than my boyfriend. I don't think it should really matter at all. I was a little insecure about it at first, but then I thought - his height or weight isn't what makes me feel loved, appreciated and safe. It's how he treats me and how we are together. So as long as the mutual care and respect is…

A couple weeks ago, I accidentally had a dinner of Girl Scouts Samoas... those are my favorite. I ate 600 calories worth. But the great thing about CICO is that I just accepted that that was my dinner for the day, and still stayed within my calories and still lost weight that week. Mmmmm Samoas

I have taken it. I don’t have anything positive to say about it and it sounds like you’re mainly looking for people who view it positively, so I will just leave it at that.

Hi there - sorry you've been thrown into the PCOS club, but there are a lot of us here :) I'm not a success story yet, so all I can add is that you are not alone and this doesn't have to rule your life, even though it may feel like that at times. Many women with PCOS find success following a low carb diet, mainly because…

I started at 305, but I'm aaaaaalmost into the 280s now (291 currently). Also, I'm a fellow Okie! I'm 5'11", so my goal weight is a little higher, but the amount of weight I need to lose is about the same as yours. Let's be friends!

I agree with this. I was actually in an extremely similar situation a few years ago. I was dating a guy who was separated, not divorced yet, and the ex-wife ended up needing to move back in for various (similar) reasons. Granted, we weren't as serious as it sounds like you guys are, but I told him that just wasn't going to…

I love Amy's! Just had one for lunch today. I usually try to eat more home cooked meals (skinnytaste.com is my savior for recipes), but when I don't have anything readily prepared already, Amy's meals are my go-to. I won't buy any other frozen meal. I usually try to find them on sale, but I'd rather pay a little bit extra…

Anything pizza related was my favorite. We had pizza sticks (like skinny pepperoni hot pockets) on the lunch menu rotation, and we did pizza bread sometimes too, and then on the really lucky days, we had ACTUAL pizza delivered.

I like to do a toasted English muffin with peanut butter on top. I buy the double protein Oatmeal/cinnamon English muffins (Thomas brand) and the Jif whips peanut butter.

I unfortunately don't have any words of wisdom, but just wanted to let you know I'm experiencing the same thing. You're not alone. But I will be lurking to see if anyone else has any good suggestions... it can be pretty miserable this time of year.

@JezebelBoo yay! That's exciting! Hope it all goes well :)

Almonds are my go-to when I need a healthy snack that will keep me feeling satisfied for a while. I guess the "low calorie" part of that is debatable with almonds - the ones I eat are 170 cals for about 1/4 cup - but they are satisfying and a healthier choice.

I get pretty much all my recipes from www.skinnytaste.com - it's free and she posts all the nutrition info, and she has categories if you are looking for something specific like low carb, gluten free, dairy free, etc. Everything I've cooked from there has been super tasty and easy to make.

I just started a couple weeks ago at 305, so I'm right there with ya! I'm down to 294 as of this morning. I'm also 5'11"!

Ohh, yes if you have that little to lose, it sounds like a smaller deficit would be much more manageable! I weigh quite a bit more than you, so my "lose 2lb per week" calorie goal is still decently high, but if I got to the point where it was telling me to eat 1200-1300 calories, I think I would do what you're doing and…
-
I'm only a couple weeks into this, but I did have my TOM during my first week on MFP and I had a couple days where I either ate at a smaller deficit or ate at maintenance, and in the end, I still had a good loss that week. It all depends on the person, but for me, it seems I do better with a controlled higher-calorie day…
-
I just go with whatever MFP tells me to eat with my goal set to lose 2lbs per week. Right now, that number is 1710, it started at 1740. I readjust it each week with my weigh-in. I would STARVE on 1200! 1740 was even hard to get used to at first, but that just made me realize how much I was eating before.

I also have PCOS and overall could stand to lose about 100lbs, but I'm only focused on 50 right now... I have a tendency to get overwhelmed. I'm not vegan, but I can definitely commiserate about trying to lose weight with PCOS! It can make it harder. Feel free to add me :)
-
My people! I've only been at this about a week and a half, but I'm 5'11", SW 305, CW 298, GW (for now) 250, but I will see what I want to do next once I hit that milestone. I'm trying not to overwhelm myself. Feel free to add me! I don't have many friends on here yet. Good luck to everyone! Edit to add my sizes: pants…

Pictures from a vacation and then going to the doctor not long after that and seeing a number that was about 30lbs higher than the last time I'd been there... huge wake-up call, and that number also happened to be the most I've ever weighed in my life. I knew my clothes weren't fitting great but I didn't realize I had…

I definitely have days where I'm hungrier than others, so I will eat a little more sometimes. As long as I have SOME sort of deficit, I'm satisfied.. and I also have days where I don't eat all my calories because I'm just not particularly hungry that day, so I think it all evens out. Like others have said, it's your…

I think this every time I see people looking for more friends to keep them on track. Most people on here struggle enough with keeping themselves on track, let alone trying to keep others on track, so I feel like that's also kind of putting an unfair expectation on the people on your friends list. It's not their job to keep…

I have PCOS also! Sucks, doesn't it? And yes, I've been told (and have read) that losing weight really is the game changer. I also have read a million places that keto is the best diet for ladies with PCOS, and for fertility in general, but it just isn't realistic for me long term, so I'm really hoping I can get the weight…

Hi there! I'm 31 and also on a baby journey! We haven't started trying yet, so I'm not to the point of looking at IUIs or IVF, but I did have a family planning appointment with my doctor when I got my IUD taken out last month and she told me to try to get my weight down to have the best chances at conceiving and having a…

I love OT! It's the only thing that actually feels fun and I don't hate it - the music & specific exercises are different every time, so it's still got good variety and doesn't get boring, although the overall structure of the class is basically the same for the most part. Only downside in my opinion is how expensive it is…

I have a desk job, so I don't move much during the day, but I have found if I make a slight effort to walk around a bit at lunch, then an hour of walking in the evening gets me to my 10k step goal. I'm not too strict about the exact step count anymore, as I was mainly using the Fitbit to give me an idea of a good level of…

You don't need a cleanse, you just need a healthier day to follow and get back to normal. As the above posters said, cleanses and detoxes are not worth anything, but it sounds like what you mean is you just want to get rid of the bloat and general crappy feeling that can come with overeating. Drink plenty of water, get…
