Thanks everyone! I appreciate the feedback :)

Thank you to you both for suggesting I look into gall bladder or gall stones. I googled gall bladder issues and my symptoms do match up. Next time I see my primary doc, I'll ask her about that.

I definitely see your point: I probably didn't give myself heart disease in a year. I'll look into the dairy thing and see if I'm developing an intolerance. Thanks for the suggestion. Digestive issues had occurred to me and I tried taking Tums at one point, but I won't rule it out because, you're right, it does seem like…

Philadelphia. Lived in Cincinnati, Florida, Washington State and Iowa. Never moving again. Hopefully. 7 months low carb. Just found this group a few weeks ago. I'm a pescatarian doing LCHF so there's a lot of yogurt and peanut butter in my life.

Everyone's suggestions and ideas are really helpful! I just fell off the wagon, too, for 2 days and yesterday managed to wrestle it in and went back to my usual whole fat yogurt and peanut butter regimen. I've fallen off the wagon twice before and am trying to learn my lesson. This last time, I wasn't really craving carbs…

I just had to explain why fat is okay over dinner last night. Here's what I said … when you stop eating carbs, your body starts to use fat as fuel. Because you're burning fat as fuel, the fat doesn't stay in your system. That's a pretty loose description but it seemed to answer their question. I also had my cholesterol…

I don't eat red meat, chicken, basically anything that can run away from me. For this reason, nuts, peanuts and peanut butter are a big part of my keto diet and it works just fine. In fact, I utterly rely upon those foods to help fill me up and especially when I don't have time to cook. Everyone else is right: it's very…

I am currently starving and have been since yesterday! I'm eating way too much but it's all low-carb. Hoping to ride this out. Been here twice before since I started LCHF last March and and those times I've talked myself into eating carbs again just to try to feel full. This time I have vowed I will literally eat an entire…

I was just watching carbs and then I stopped losing weight. So I started watching calories too and started losing again. I'm hoping to go through a few weeks of measuring everything and then just be able to "eye-ball" serving sizes after awhile.

I don't eat red meat. I usually eat whole fat plain yogurt, peanut butter, cheese, eggs and tofu. I also like textured vegetable protein (TVP) and have figured out how to season it so it's pretty good as a base for a Mexican casserole. By that I mean, just seasoned TVP in a small dish, melt cheese on top in microwave, add…

Hello! I'm new to this forum, too. Looking to share ideas, experience and support! Feel free to send me a friend request.

Welcome to your new diet journey! I'm not a medical person or a dietician so please just take this as my own experience. To lose weight on LCHF (low carb high fat) I have needed to restrict calories. The bonus of LCHF is that it's much easier to eat lightly because I don't have intense food cravings and I don't feel crazy…

I agree with other posts about making sure you have enough sodium to help prevent "keto flu." I add salt to my drinking water and actually like the taste quite a bit. And, I have gone through the keto-adaptation phase three times in the past six months (i.e. I went back to eating carbs and had to start again.) I've noticed…

Hi everyone! I'm doing low-carb, keto, too and would love some friends so we can compare notes and help each other stick with it. Please add me! Thanx!
