I'm qualified in this area, as a Professor, a Physician (Neurologist), a neuroscientist and a geneticist, who actively works, is federally (NIH) funded, and publishes work on autism. I feel bad for the confusion on this thread, and I think it is understandable, given that we really didn't know the first thing about autism…
