Hello everyone! I am 32, no kids, but do want them some day if the universe deems it possible. I am single, but am newly dating someone so we'll see where that goes. I am a very active person but have had trouble with injuries and depression. Now that I have the mental part under control it's time to crack down on the…

I think you need to meet with your doctor and figure out what medication works for you and your symptoms. I found once I was on the right one and my mood stabilized that it was easier to concentrate on my goals. Pretty much all the medications out there will say "may cause weight gain/loss", they affect everyone…

@kcasteel07 I am very similar stats to you but maybe 20lb heavier and to lose 1lb per week my calories are set to just above 1800. This seems pretty good to me. But, if you are getting 1600 +/- 100 cal then you are still in the safe zone, just make sure to eat back some of your exercise calories so you don't go too low…

If you want the boost of energy for your workout but want to eat after can't you split it up and have an energy boosting snack before then another snack after to help recover? Like two mini meals? Try different timings and see what works for you.

I am not normally a challenge person, but I couldn't resist this one and I need a little extra motivation right now! Just submitted my application :)

I can't speculate as to using the two watches together as I haven't. However, I have a Forerunner 235 and love it. I would get annoyed constantly switching watches personally.

I do this and it really helps since I do rotating shift work and end up napping some days and my schedule is never the same every week. That way I know that my day is 24 hours regardless of when I sleep. If you look at weekly goals it also helps you to be able to add more to days your low so higher days aren't so bad and…

To be a picky pants, it's actually your pace, it is an indicator of how fast you are going but is used by runners to ensure they are not speeding up or slowing down. Time/Distance = Pace......Distance/Time = Speed.

Unless you ate 7000 calories over your maintenance you didn't gain 2.2lb overnight. It is just water weight and probably leftover food in your stomach since you ate more than usual. It will be gone as soon as you get back to normal, no need to reduce your calories by 600 today, just get back on track and it will come off…

I do rotating shift work (days/nights) so I log from midnight to midnight and have my diary labelled 12:00am-4:00am, 4:00am-8:00am....etc. It's easier in case I take a nap etc. cause then I won't have one "day" that is almost 24 hours and one "day" that is way less. If that makes sense....

It seems like bluetooth headphones and placing my phone out of the way is going to be my best option for lifting days. Does anyone have any recommendations about what brand/style etc. is better?

Thanks everyone! Some good ideas for me to ponder.

I work rotating 12 hours shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 5 off). In addition to the great advice above, just keep in mind that your night shifts are technically the same as someone else's day, the principles are the same, eat your food, stay under your calorie goal and be persistent.

I can't say about losing weight cause I am still in the process, however, I gained 100 lb and only went up one size (maybe one and a half) as the rings that used to fit my ring finger now fit my little finger (loosely). It is really going to depend on how you're made how much smaller your fingers get.

I don't get stress cravings so much as stress causes me to make poor food choices, so similar I guess. I have been trying very hard to make sure I have my meals prepared, try to minimize the stress over things I can control and not skipping workouts.

Following the definitions of MFP you set your activity level to what you are EVERYDAY and then you log all EXTRA activity as exercise. Given this definition you would be sedentary and log all of your hiking as exercise. A higher activity level would be if you had a job where you were on your feet walking around all day…

My opinion would be to set your calorie goal using the "Lightly Active" or “Active” setting when it sets up your calorie goal for weight loss (which will take into account your 10,000 steps for your job) then add in your "Purposeful Exercise" calories for the gym, etc. and eat a portion of those back. I always tend to…

I hear ya! This is how my downward spiral started too! I had lost all my university weight...then came visits home, a friends wedding and a big move for work...soon I was up the 30lb I had lost......then I got plantar fasciitis in both feet and couldn't work out for a long time, add in depression and I skyrocketed from 190…

To be honest I really don't think you should worry about it until your throat heals. When I had my tonsils out I ate all the soft things and didn't really gain any appreciable weight. I just made sure I slept a lot so that I could heal while resting. My tonsils were also severely infected so they gave me antibiotics and a…

Hi there! I am 31, no kiddos and started out with 110lb to lose, down 20lb so still 90lb to go! Add me if y'all want to :)

I get absolutely horrible headaches when I cut down on my sugar. I also get migraines. So not fun. I usually give up and give in to some sugar, but if you continue with the no added sugar they should calm down in a few weeks, if that is indeed what is causing them. Dehydration can cause it too.

I find that it helps for me to do meal prep twice a week (or more depending on time). I make sure all my veggies and fruit are washed and cut up (depending on what they are) and I will make meals for 3-4 days. Then change it up and make something different on food prep day #2. I find this helps keep things diverse and…

You can feel free to add me! I am currently 262lb and my goal weight is 160lb.

Very much genetics. I don't lose much in my calves when I lose weight, but this is why someone invented "wide calf" boots lol My calves right now are 19" (the same size as some people's thighs!) and I have boots that go almost to my knee that even have a bit of room. Lose the weight you need to in order to be healthy, the…
