It's not a shocking and offensive concept. The point was that the article had no context as to what consisted of overexercise nor did it provide sufficient data to point the finger that being active/exercising for more than an hour a day was the sole cause of the increases found. The forums are littered with questions…

Deja vu. I did the cone of shame in that other thread too when I accidentally revived it way back when. LMAO.

We need to make this happen.

Even though males have an easier time with gaining muscle, it still isn't as simple as "went to the gym for a month and got bulky." Unless you're taking something that's messing with your testosterone levels, it'd be awhile before you'd reach that kind of goal and you'd have to do it on purpose. If you look at the first…

Well if you're still concerned that something might be inaccurate because you have to keep putting the scale away, if you go to a gym maybe rely on their scale more than the one you use at home? If you don't go to a gym, perhaps rely more on measurements over the scale?

Not sure what you mean you can't balance pedal. Do you mean you're having a hard time staying upright? Have you ever been on a bicycle before? If not, is there anyone that might be able to help you as you learn?

HIIT is not a magical exercise that is going to suddenly make your body realize it needs to lose fat/weight. There is no "healthy shocking your body" - to put it bluntly. It's going to be a calorie deficit and patience. And that's if the scale # ends up being what really matters to the OP - like with what 88olds said in…

I would check how tight you have your shoes. Even if they seem loose to start with, your feet could be swelling and causing the discomfort. I used to have an elliptical at home and ran into the numb feet issue. I ended up trying a few sessions barefoot and there was no numbing at all.

Honestly this^ As much as I wish someone here could help you, they can't. If you still have the info from the doctor and team you worked with before, I'd suggest calling them as soon as possible. If you are unable to reach them, here is a link from MFP. If you scroll down, it has links that might be able to help you.…

Well, it can help you when starting out to increase strength. Are you looking to improve your physique for a goal such as bodybuilding? Or just trying to decrease your body fat %? For decreasing body fat % - that's going to rely more on a calorie deficit. But strength training in general will help lessen the amount of…

It's probably been mentioned (as I haven't read through all the pages)...but this reminds me of the thread where someone was very adamant that 1 lb of feathers was lighter than 1 lb of rocks. ETA: OMG, the link was posted. WOW! I am seriously surprised that thread is still up!

It's usually the ideal pushed to do cardio on off days from lifting, but doing both on the same day isn't unheard of. Overall it'll depend on your goals which you do first and how many hours in between your cardio and strength training workouts. So if you're a runner training for a race, you'd make it a focus to do cardio…

What sort of success are you looking for exactly? I use them as part of my strength training routine and they work fine in helping to build strength, if that's what you are curious about.

As Anvil said right off the bat - "I won’t comment on 900 minutes of exercise per week without more context to frame it." It is rare that a majority of people will look at an actual study. That's how the China Study got away with cherry-picking things from other studies, as well as "stating facts" that turned out not to…

Have to agree with what Wheel said on both counts. In no way did he say that everything had to be 100% true. Just when things get published (especially on a trusted site) without any actual basis IN truth - their reader base will still take it as 100% true without looking up on it with a discerning eye and understanding…

^This sums up everything I think about the MFP blog.

I also have reactive hypoglylcemia. When I tried out low carbs it actually exacerbated it, along with my migraines. I think it just comes down to an individual thing because I've met others who say it they do better with low carb and others who are similar to me and it actually creates a negative reaction.

Just started on FFXIV Reborne. Currently doing the free trial but it's looking pretty good that I'll probably buy into the mmo. I still think I'll wait to around lvl 27-30 before I make a final decision.

I really hope these woos are just someone who mistook the woo button as a "yay" thing. Because otherwise I have no idea. Pretty much most of the replies are the exact opposite of "woo".

Wow, thanks for the info! Was wondering that myself.

Well, science does tend to trump belief - which is what a lot of people who rely on supposed weight loss aides tend to go with. The belief that there is a miracle pill or powder that will allow us to take the easy road to our goals.

Haven't been able to watch hockey for a few years now but I've always loved the Pittsburgh Penguins - through good and bad. :D

Here's a link to a group on MFP for vegans and vegetarians called Happy Herbivores They have links to resources and recipes there.

Well, if you run into him again hope you post it. Really curious to see what he says for his reasoning as to why he gave you those numbers. :D

Not to mention insightful and truthful. No idea were negative comes into play.

I never realized it'd be so full of carbs.
