I cycle Kettlebell training and barbell training. My goals are mostly Kettlebell oriented and I tend to enjoy dynamic lifts (Olympic lifting, KB swings, KB cleans, KB high pulls, and KB snatch). Here are some Kettlebell programs that I would recommend for a beginner: Simple and Sinister by Pavel…

You've received lots of good suggestions. I would add waiter walks, low trap work, and rotator cuff work to your list for shoulder stability. If it helps, I do timed farmers walks around my apartment when I can't do them outside. This isn't stability related, but have you thought about using a foam roller? I have been…

I take a multi and a magnesium supplement a couple times a week.

The best shoe for you is going to depend on your foot and your gait. I would go to a local running store, have them do a gait analysis and a shoe fitting.

Are you making your protein macro? From the bit I saw on your screen shot most likely not. Add a protein source to every meal and snack. I agree with the people who are telling you to switch to 1 lb a week.

I checked him out. As someone who has been training primarily with Kettlebells for the past two years, I wouldn't trust this guy with my body. In his words,"through trial and error he has figured out how to use Kettlebells effectively". I expected to see either a Kettlebell sport certification, an RKC certification, or a…

It depends on the type of Kettlebell work you are doing. If you are practicing movements with a focus on strength, I would log it as strength training. If you are doing work that is 30seconds on 30 seconds off and you are moving pretty quick I would log it as circuit training. If you post the video, I could tell you…

Include a protein source at every meal and snack.

I lived in Fairbanks, AK for three years and here are some things that helped me: - Try to get outside while it is daylight - Be social. Make plans for game nights and meeting up with friends a couple times per week. - Stay active. - Remember that the days are getting longer. Notice it. Be happy about it. - If it gets…

One thing that hasn't been mentioned, if you are not currently taking a prenatal you should start. As others have said, eat at maintenance and talk with your provider about nutrition and weight gain. Congratulations!

That's me:-) I'm using Pavel's Kettlebell Minimum right now to work through an injury (always get a good warm up!). I've paired that with this simple strength training template by Nia Shanks. http://www.niashanks.com/ultimate-lift-like-girl-workout-template/ My goal right now is to get back to where I was pre injury (12k…

Are visits to a dietician covered in your insurance? It would be worth a visit.

I can speak to the Kettlebell part of your question. I would recommend picking up a copy of Enter the Kettlebell by Pavel. Pavel is responsible for bringing Kettlebell training to the US. He has intro level Kettlebell users practicing 4 times a week for no longer than 30 min. A good tool to use in conjunction with that is…

Nice work! Shoveling out by hand is kind of like bringing a stick to a gun fight. At least your snow isn't that deep yet.

I get at least 120g of protein per day off of 2250 calories. Here are some ideas for making that happen: -include a protein source at every meal and snack. -pre plan your meals so that you know what you need to do with your snacks to hit your protein macro. -there is nothing wrong with adding a shake:-) Here are some of my…

My goals with push ups. Right now, I just want to get back to doing push ups on the ground again. I injured my shoulder in late July and am still healing. My plan to get my push ups back involves doing the exercises my Physical Therapist gave me, gradually taking my push up to the ground (right now I do them on a chair),…

I have very sensitive rosacea prone skin. I wash my sunscreen off before I workout and just do a water rinse after. I use Neutrogena extra gentle non foaming face wash for all my face wash needs. The only wipes my face will tolerate are the Neutrogena make up remover towelettes. If I were you, try taking your make up off…

I'm not 100% Paleo anymore, but I still cook a lot of Paleo recipes. I will send you a friend request.

Have you been to physical therapy for your back?

I just want to share a bit of my weight loss story with you as encouragement:-) When I lost the baby weight, I would go 4 weeks sometimes without losing anything then I would drop two to five pounds. I have lost all of the weight from my pregnancy plus an extra 10 (25lb total). It took some time. I started my weight loss…

I don't log much anymore but would love to share ideas:-)

Firstly, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope that there is some justice pending this investigation. All the male trainers I've had were very knowledgeable and professional. They never touched me except to give me a high five.

I would use the recipe builder and weigh each of your portions separately. Weigh the meat mixture, potatoes, and the container separately if you want to be super specific. When I make a shepherd's pie, I make it in a casserole dish, divide the portions as evenly as I can and call it a day. That being said, the only macro I…

I usually fill half my plate with veggies. If there are calorie heavy sides, I usually eat a small half fist sized serving. I also have a palm sized serving of protein:-)

Also start rolling to your side to get up from lying down.

Stop doing planks and anything else that crunches the abdominals. I went to physical therapy for mine and was able to get it to close.

Ok, so here is how my last pregnancy went. I started my pregnancy at 160lb (I'm 5'9"). I weighed 200 when I was admitted to labor and delivery. I weighed 190 after I had my baby. At my 6 week check up I weighed 174. The loss was all water weight. It took me 6 months to get back to 160. I currently weigh 150 and my baby is…

I weight trained throughout my entire pregnancy. I found some really good support and information here: https://www.girlsgonestrong.com/blog/category/pregnancy/ I also really loved this Pilates video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8M7X73qN-b0

It really depends on the size and location of your gap. I had a 2 finger gap post pregnancy and, through working with a physical therapist, got it to close all the way. Definitely get in to see a physical therapist. They may be able to save you from having to have surgery.

I use the Rubbermaid 4 cup rectangular containers and the ziplock 2 cup rounds most of the time. I think the glassware containers are nice for storing things in the fridge, but I find them to be really heavy for taking a meal on the go. I also have some of the circular Glad snap top containers for large salads.
