An 83 year old man deadlifting 450 pounds is awesome for sure, fair play

Chewing on a boot! Lmao @rainbowbow got me laughing hard, probably burnt a few calories! @leaninsc the cinnamon ones sound good. Planning is massive, fail to prepare and all that makes life tougher for sure.

Eating 4 times a day could well be the answer, if I can shuffle things round at work and push dinner slightly to the right I could manage a similar routine. 4 hours is my natural hunger cycle, if not slightly quicker. I haven't tried Ezekiel bread or pita before but I'm willing to try anything if it keeps me fuller for…

I typically have a carb only for my afternoon meal so I usually have either 1/2 cup oatmeal, 5oz sweet potato, ezekiel pita and salsa, 1/2 cup brown rice, or 2oz whole grain pasta salad. Fills me, satisfying, keeps my blood sugar level steady, and holds me over until dinner. That is what has been working for me. 3pm used…

I'll knock some up then, at least this way you can have 100% confidence in what has gone into your food. Anyone have any healthy snack tips for between meals, afternoons are hardest for me

Well said @makingmark

@leaninsc I searched that PB and it does look awesome, no wonder you can destroy it lol! Not sure it's available in the UK tho???

I'd be dubious eating anything from a guy called "Crazy Richard" anyway @leaninsc

7000 calories consumed clean!? Geez, you'd be chewing the cud longer than an Aberdeen Angus cow to get through that much. Plus the subsequent methane will get you banned from the gym in no time, so it'll be solo training in the great outdoors for anyone attempting that challenge

If I see an increase in muscle mass, reduced body fat and a subsequent higher metabolic rate then I certainly won't complain if this leaves more scope for the odd indulgence here and there.

If only my calorie deficit was as large as my bank account deficit it'd be plain sailing. CICO all the way from here.

What is juice plus? Will that speed up my weight loss program? @kinsella

I like your thinking leaninsc, our bodies and subsequently our health are the best investments we can ever make

*Correction my calorie goal is 2100

Hey, thx for the reply. Ive set MFP for a 1llb a week weight loss goal. Today is day 24 and I'm 8llbs down so I'm ahead of schedule. I wanted a decent start but I couldn't know how fast or slow the weight would come off. Should I continue as I am? My daily calorie target is 1900, I'm reluctant to increase this if I'm…

Great points, thank you. For sure i wanna trim down but not at the expense of muscle mass or my BMR. As I progress I will add strength training to my exercise routine whilst maintaining a balanced diet. Im 3 weeks in and realise that I have lots to learn, both in terms of nutrition and exercise programmes but I'm looking…

Thx for all the replies! Lots of great info in there. I've been trying to keep a calorie deficit whilst eating much healthier along the way. At the same time I've really upped the activity levels but like many have said here, MFP or my iPhone is clearly overstating my steps/activity. I'll chalk some off this score in my…
