You will get a better response if you post your question in the Getting Started or Fitness forums.

I guess I want some of both worlds. Have a PT who has me on a 3 X a week training plan focused on core work, getting me standing straighter, less back pain and that kind of thing. A mix of heavy weightlifting and core work is how I could best describe it. No bike work (although he hasn't given me the day 3 workout yet) but…

Just kinda bugs me that I see these plans (Higdon, Fitzgerald) with no mention of strength training. <<shrug>>

Need to try caffeine pills. Drinking 3-4 cups can be an issue if the porta potty lineups are too long :)

I started about where you are now (330-340). Not exactly sure as the scale I had at the time didn't go past 300. So first, congrats on your weight loss. One regret I have is not starting to lift heavy sooner. Was probably 250 ish when I started lifting. This means that a good chunk of the weight I lost was not fat, but…

Yup. Those bloody liars who said "just lace up some shoes and go run".......

I bought a pair of trail shoes late last year and did a few runs before the white stuff appeared. I'll get back to it in the spring. I'm lucky as I found the same brand and model of my road shoes in a trail shoe on sale so I just started running ith them. I was mixing it up between road, path and trail for a bit there and…

Just one more voice to say slow down. With the C25K, I still say you need a fitness base before even starting it. Can you walk at a reasonably brisk pace for an hour? If not, then start with working to that before trying to run. Oh, and get good shoes from a good running store before you start running. Your shins/knees…

Grrrrr...... Frikken snow. Nowhere near as much as I want to because I hate the treadmill and I'm not running through snow on ice. And I have a 1/2 on the 23rd that I'm nowhere near ready for so just going to run/walk and finish whenever I finish.

Belong to one I think it's worth it I don't do classes but have had a PT put a program together for me. More lifting than cardio. I run to get my cardio (although the bloody snow has limited this) My end goal is to not be decrepit at 60. At 50 I was well on my way to it. I want to run faster so my gym program has that goal…

Oh, I don't chase them off my lawn anymore. My front doorbell camera informs me they are on the lawn so I just pop into my sprinkler app and turn the sprinklers on. I may be old but I still love technology....

Umm. Wow. Kinda not what I expected when clicking on this. Kudos to you for understanding and having a balanced response. And I get posting just to put it out there. :flowerforyou:

I'm not sure if that changes the answer or not, but please lead with this info next time. If you are under medical supervision, they are the ones to ask. Most answers given here assume a healthy, but overweight person is asking unless otherwise stated. If that is not the case, often the responses are not appropriate.

Doubt I can say what I call them......

I'd love a 5X but can't justify the grand (Cdn) so have settled for a 3HR. I would like the trail mapping but can live without it. But Garmin seem to be the best built.

I've got size 12 boots and the bindings to go with them. SNS both. Had to switch boots as either my feet shrunk or the folks that sold them to me did a bad job. Couldn't find and SNS boots so I switched bindings.

I went looking and made sure mine had caffeine. Have not actually tried them yet.

Oooh Love that stuff. My issue is that I can only drink about 1/3 of what I used to. Weight loss has made me a lightweight in this.

I can't find a health oriented random text generator.....

I paid the hug for you @angelsimbre

@annpt77 has a good diet plan. It's around here somewhere. Expensive though. I think she charges a hug for it (not a real hug, just the click hug below).

Further to this. There was ONE study done at a Canadian University. And while they did not name names, they found most of the products contained far less of the "active" ingredient and many contained fillers that were potential allergens. So if you are sensitive to wheat, they may contain it. Found a G&M article on it.…

Someone protests a bit too much.....

To add to the necro thread, read this https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10084670/it-is-unlikely-that-you-will-lose-weight-consistently-i-e-weight-loss-is-not-linear/p1 Daily fluctuations are perfectly normal.

All I know is my weight is down the morning after killing a bottle. :)
