@merph518 This is a wonderful NSV - would you consider getting a new badge photo to celebrate? Your badge picture is definitely not the new you!

I am pretty happy to have come up with a way to participate in my work department's "Valentine's Day Gift Bag" thing. Most everyone puts in a piece of candy for each bag but I am going to give everyone a non-food gift. I found some balsa wood heart shapes which I am painting in the colors of the (awful tasting)…

It finally happened: After reading so many wonderful posts about going down a belt notch or dress size, I get to post one for me! I went shopping for new slacks and my new ones do not have an elastic waist, they have a button band and zipper! But the kicker is that the jeans are an 18, no more 22/24Ws. Woot! Woot!

@88olds Deserve is a word that I think is worthy of reflection; thank you for posting the topic. Your intro certainly had my mind thinking about not only the criminal justice system ("Yup, they got what they deserve") but also being a child and hearing adults around me using the word negatively, such as: You got what you…

The Great Cornbread Debate! @conniewilkins56 and @bmeadows380 your descriptions of cornbread variations are spot on! I've enjoyed both styles depending on my mood and locale but since living in NM I had no idea that there is a whole other realm of cornbread - I call it southwest cornbread because I've eaten it in AZ, too.…

According to the oracle of google search, the FitBit2 Charge is not water proof (it is water resistant). This may explain the inaccurate reading.

@conniewilkins56 - agreed, our LL group does indeed feel more like "home" - safe and familiar. ...and, I've been meaning to ask, your new picture features something in a casserole-type of dish, what's cooking?!

Seriously. Diamonds. Love them shiny things!

Golf. I deliberately chose to learn to play golf so that I would be outside, get in some walking, and be with one or more friends for a couple of hours. This season will be my second for league play and I am very much looking forward to it. It may sound odd, but I have a hankering to try pickleball. My parks and rec…

I think of grits as the USA's version of polenta...….sweet or savory, creamy or solid, oh, the poor-man's go to staple. Humble and delicious for sure.

@Tammiann1961 / Tammi - Welcome! 'Sconsin?! I smile as I type "Wisconsin" because it reminds me of my time in Illinois, which was special and wonderful. My family moved to Illinois and I went to high school and college during the (ahem) late 70's...… Anyhow, thought I'd let you know that I think being a grandmother is the…

@whitevanman1530 / Wayne - Welcome! Nottingham? Brilliant! Don't totally laugh at me, but seriously, my kids were raised with Sunday Tea here in the USA. My Dad was an exceptional cricket player and every Sunday of my childhood was spent at the cricket field, so tea is an important tradition for me. What kind of deliveries…

@maureenkhilde - Welcome! I, too, like to prepare most of food from scratch, at home. I like to cook. My current challenge is learning to use my InstaPot from Santa this Christmas. Now our YouTube profile is clogged with any and all InstaPot videos, lol. Looking forward to having you here. Pam

@bmeadows380 Welcome! I can relate to the if-I-order-it-I'll-eat-eat routine, that's me! Just Wednesday I took a leap of faith at the local McDs by asking to substitute an egg white for the Canadian bacon on the egg white delight sandwich - and they did, for no extra charge. Go me! Who knew? Your avatar looked familiar to…

@weightloss42020 / Becky - Welcome! I have three children, too - they are all grown now and live independently from me. I have seven step children, also grown-up people. So that's ten in all - wow - right?! Feel free to ask questions, look around, and feel at home. Pam

@JackKsavestheday Hi, Jack, welcome! My diary is open - so it's an invite, not a snoop, lol. Looking forward to you joining the group. Jump in anywhere! Pam

@maiomaio71 I love dosas! My dad came to the USA from India and he missed "home cooking" - this was in the early 60's when ethnic food was not predominantly available. Anyhow, he taught himself how to make many dishes and I adapted his samosa recipe to baked instead of fried. I use the same samosa ingredients but instead…

@skyegonestrong Welcome! Great introduction and background - the support provided here is pretty darn wonderful. As @NovusDies often comments, jump in, ask questions, start conversations and do it at your own pace. Pam

@ZoneFive Welcome! I read your post and thought to myself, "Hey, that was (is) my concern, too" about getting moving. Although I've been making changes for a year now it was pretty cool to actually think about the PROGRESS I've made in 2019. Don't get me wrong, I'm not running any marathons or lighting the exercise world…

@astidog99 I simply adore trifle! Good for you coming up with a more reasonable calorie option!

Hello, friends. I am happy that today has the last of our house guests returning to their home. Let the house cleaning begin once again! Washing linens are a big deal right now. With the exception of Christmas Eve and Day, I have been to the gym every day and feel empowered by getting out of the house and taking a break…
