I often have the same problem. Some days I just run non stop and I'm too in a hurry and too stressed to feel hungry. But on sedentary days, especially when I'm supposed to be studying, it's so much more tempting to just procrastinate by snacking. And concentrating on reading is much more difficult due to cravings/hunger…

This is so true. I know that the reason I'm so fixated on food is because I constantly plan my meals in my head. I'm doing the TDEE mrthod, so sometimes my plan changes throughout the day, so I constantly have adjust it, log it, delete it, log again. I often cook certain things ahead so I'm pre-weighing things, deviding it…

Do you find that you feel hungrier on more active days eating the same number of calories?
-
Same. This is in part why I started to wonder about glycogen depletion.
-
I didn't think it was sequential. I know that one starts to use stored fat alongside glycogen as long as there isn't enough energy coming from food. What I was wondering is whether and how the glycogen stores get replenished if there's a consistent energy deficit. I was under the impression (probably wrong) that unless one…

Wow thanks everyone for your replies! It's really interesting how different activities have very different effect on everyone's hunger levels. I myself feel also hungrier a few hours after my runs and especially the next day.

Syncing Fitbit and MFP is very tricky. What seems to have happened is that MFP is adding your Fitbit calories (BMR + activity) to MFP calorie estimations which ALREADY includes your BMR calories. So you end up thinking you burn almost twice of what you're actually burning. Most people on MFP would advise you not to sync…

Thank you! It's very helpful. It seems to be the best way to find the most accurate data.

Chia seeds are among the most confusing ones. According to some websites they have basically zero net carbs and according to others they're 8g net carbs per 100

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm at the end of the day four and I'm feeling much less hungry than before. Maybe the worst is really over? Also, to everyone assuming I was referring to craving junk carby food - I wasn't really. I was hungry, i wanted more food in general, inluding low carb food. Although certain…

Thank you! That's reassuring. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little easier than today and I'll feel some difference by the end of this week. I admit it I'm probably overdosing a little on fat bombs. Though they feel more like a treat than a diet food. But I'm eating lots of delicious foods and snacking all day. And since low…

Thanks for the advice! I will try to be patient! Well, I figured that cold turkey would be better in my case since I already struggled with hunger before and lowering carbs slowly would mean I'd be even hungrier for longer. I assumed cold turkey would allow me to reach ketosis quicker and that it's better to get it over…

Great! Thank you!!

Yes, I know it's really strange. It wasn't always like this. I used to wake up and not be hungry until lunch and I'm used to be able to go hours without food. And when I was hungry it didn't feel so intense. The weird hunger started several weeks ago. And I can't figure out what changed. I weigh petty much the same (I even…

My average deficit lately has been about 400. Some days its 0 or I might even eat over my maintanance calories I still feel hungry. A couple of weeks ago I tried to eat like 3000 for several days in a row and still had this unsatisfied hunger sensation behind the sensation of fullness, if that makes sense. So I don't think…

Thanks! I've heard about him. I'll look it up!

What type of foods do you think are best to avoid and what are those that are beneficial. It's interesting because according to the classic quidelines in the country where I'm from there are lots of foods that are otherwise considered as very healthy, that are adviced to be avoided with gastritis or an ulcer. While…

I am gaining weight rather fast. I gained 7lb in the last 4 weeks or so. But that's the thing, I don't have regular acid reflux symptoms (burning sensation in the esaphogus or stomach, bitter taste in the mouth etc.) But maybe it presents itself differently sometimes? I'll try to see a doctor as soon as possible. Thank you!

The night is really hard for me. I usually wake up at least 2-3 times feeling ravenous and I need to eat something if I want to be able to fall asleep again. I usually eat some cereal with almond milk or almond milk and toast. Because acidic/fibrous foods make things worse and foods that coat the stomach bring relief…

Tums don't work. I've started taking omeprazole (proton pump inhibiter) and so far no improvement. :( I'm hoping that maybe I should give it more time to have an effect.

No, I really doubt it's my protein intake. I tried different macro ratios. I tried 40% and 50% protein, I tried lowering my carbs to 30%. I tried upping my fat. My fiber intake has been pretty significant, too (like 50-70g daily.

I used to wake up and not be hungry for many hours and water fasting for a day was easy. I tried IF in the past and while it didn't go with my particular lifestyle it was pretty easy. Now I'm so ravenous that I can't imagine to not be able to eat something for many hours. But like I said in the previous thread that I made…

Well, I live in France and the labels here don't count fiber as carbs so if I understand that right, it won't be counted as such in the MFP diary either when I scan. For veggies I now search I the in the database using the french name and it doesn't seem to count fiber a carbs.
-
That's very helpful! Thanks!!
-
So in the diary itself the carbs and fiber are separate? This is what I wanted to know! I mostly use non-US entries, so I should be fine. I just need to be attentive and avoid US entries for generic foods like veggies.
-
I've heard about this approach! It sounds interesting. I could give it a try and 'fast' on days when I don't exercise.
-
I'm following this thread. I have exact same problem. I just started a very similar thread a few days ago and so far I haven't found a solution. I'm the same weight and activity level/TDEE as you and about 10 lbs heavier. I also have the hardest time maintaining even a small deficit because of intense constant hunger. If I…

My insulin and sugar levels were within norm last time I made tests (a year ago). At the moment, carbs constitute about 50% of my intake which is quite a lot. I've tried lower and very low carb intakes before and was miserable the entire time (hungry and just feeling nasty in general). The longest I've lasted was slightly…

Yes, I'm aware that cigarettes are generally considered an appetite suppressant, even though I never noticed a big difference between the times I smoked and didn't. The thing is, I've stopped smoking for periods of time, long and short, many times before and I've never seemed to have this hunger problem. Also, like I said,…
