I would check again online about this. A punnet of fresh strawberries has only around 93 calories.

Have a couple of glasses of water first, and then see if you really need to eat.

I am on 1200 calories a day but I also follow a low Glycemic Index diet. This means I eat almost no bread, potatoes and anything else that is a fast carb food. For breakfast, I have two thin rashers of grilled bacon, a poached egg and some button mushrooms, together with a cup of tea. I never feel hungry and I eat my main…

I'm on 1200 a day too. I make a vegetable soup, freeze it in small plastic containers, then I can just heat one up for supper or lunch. I use chopped celery, onion, garlic, carrot, leek, red pepper, haricot blanc beans and a stock cube. Sautee it all in a tablespoon of olive oil, pour on boiling water until you have an…

Maize cracker is my life saver. Only 43 calories, no salt or sugar and taste like popcorn. I bought a cheese parer and I pare two thin slices of my goat's cheese Brebis and it fills a gap every time. Also a great alternative for a dessert.

I changed to sweet potatoes because they release sugar more slowly than ordinary potatoes, which keeps you from feeling hungry for longer. That's the best reason to change to them.

The thought of getting type 2 diabetes keeps me on track, I don't want to get my legs amputated, suffer kidney failure, go blind etc. It's a very powerful motivation for me.

Amazing, and I bet you cut your diabetes risk dramatically too!

I used to feel hungry all the time, but that's because I was eating fast carbs like bread, white rice and pasta. I then checked out the low GL/GI index and realised that if I wanted to lose weight and not feel hungry, I needed to change what I ate for slow release carbs that kept me fuller for longer. It works and now I…

I totally agree with this posting. I recently heard a Doctor say "If you put more calories in your mouth than your body is burning, you gain weight, simple as!" I still have my glass of wine with lunch and enjoy it, but it's always within my daily allowance and mentally, I'm feeling great about what I eat now.

I think there may be a simpler answer to this. When I joined, I found that I was eating a bigger breakfast and lunch but by supper time, I had very few calories left. So I switched to a low cal breakfast and less at lunch, but then found that I struggled to get the surplus calories down! So now, after a few weeks, I've…

Totally makes sense to me. I think the reason that most people fail with eating regimes is that they restrict every little thing they like. A small treat now and then is a boost for me, and as I still lose about 1 lb a week even with the small glass of wine, I'm happy.

I totally agree, but I eat good wholesome meals, with loads of veg and salad and most days I have calories to spare so I have a glass of wine and I feel great about my eating plan. It's the main reason I won't need to give up on it.
-
I agree, but I don't have anywhere near the size of a regular shot.

I like a glass of white wine or a Gin & Tonic, so I have a glass full of zero calorie tonic and a tiny drop of gin just to taste. I really hate sugary foods and desserts, so I have my small glass of white wine with my lunch ( I live in France, we have our main meal between 12 and 2pm) and I still have a few calories to…

re: scrambled eggs versus Boiled or poached ... Scrambled egg usually has butter added, boiled or poached don't therefore less fat and less calories. Given the amount of oils and fats that the op is using each day, anywhere she can cut down has to be a help.

Hi there, I can't see any drinks on your diary. What are you drinking throughout the day? Are you having plenty of water? Also, there's quite q bit of olive oil there, I have cut mine down to a couple of teaspoons per meal and that helped. I also changed to a low GL regime which means I eat slow acting sugars not fast…
