To answer the OP's question...35 pounds down so far with calorie counting and running every other day.

Tried it for a few months and HATED it. My run distance suffered immensely and I felt terrible all the time. Just wasn't for me.

5.11 miles ran this morning. Calves were still sore from Saturday's 10+ mile run but surprisingly didn't bother me this morning during the run.

On days when I run I often treat myself to something good. Just eating back half the calories usually affords me the ability to enjoy a couple of slices of pizza or some other favorite food. I don't see anything wrong with it. I'm 35 pounds down and it's worked fine for me so far.

Ran 10.34 miles this morning which is a personal best. Pretty sure I could have kept going but didn't want to push it. I'm getting close to signing up for a half marathon.

Ran 5.14 miles this morning.

5.14 miles ran yesterday. Also finally got my food scale and man are measuring cups way off. Also got my yearly exam today. Doc should be excited at my 34 pounds lost.

I run at 5:20 AM and I find it to be peaceful and relaxing.

I had about 75 pounds to lose when I started. Since the beginning of the year I've lost 31 pounds. Just taking it slow and steady, eating right, and exercising. Keep it up and don't be in a hurry. It will come.

Greetings all. I'm 47 and trying to get back in shape. Used to be a pretty serious runner back in the 00s. I'd run 10 miles three to four times a week and was in awesome shape. Then I had some tragedy in my life and depression took hold. Before I knew it I was in my 40s and had ballooned up to 240 pounds. Early this year I…

Not a thing wrong that. In fact you'll find that your speed will improve the more you run without having to put much thought into it. As I dropped weight and my fitness improved my time improved without me even thinking about it. I'm down to averaging about 11 minutes per mile on my long runs (usually anywhere from 5-10…

Take it slow. Try walking for a couple of weeks and then move to mixing some running in with your walks. I used a couch to 5k app to get me started and my runs now are usually somewhere between 5-10 miles.

I run 5-10 miles three times a week. I love running. It's helped me lose 30 pounds since the spring. Plan on running a half marathon soon. Best way to start is to use a couch to 5K app. It will ease you in slowly.

Lots of folks will give you special diets, etc. but the best way to do it is gradually by eating right and exercising. It will be a slow process but it's better to lose it slowly than quickly. Seen lots of folks lose a lot of weight fast and then put it back on plus a few extra. You're going to have to make it a permanent…
