You can add me. I don't look at it like a diet - this is a complete lifestyle change for me which I have stuck to for the first time in my life.
-
I burn 1,000 calories on an elliptical 2 to 3 times a week in an hour - but that's also moving at a 4.0 to 6.0 mph pace.

You can add me as a friend - as of today I have lost 46 pounds and am 6 pounds away from my goal weight. LOTS of hurdles along the past 20 weeks, including almost quitting multiple times, but very glad I didn't.

Singingflutelady: To clarify, I apologize, my first goal is to be at 185 and I have 8 pounds to go. Once I achieve that my trainer and I are going to concentrate on getting me bulked up with muscle. It will take longer than I want, but change is a process not an event :)

I am basing that on they get the flu shot because they swear by it and then within a month or 2 get the flu - I have seen it time and time again. Like I said - I haven't had one of those in over 20 years, won't get one again and I haven't gotten sick with the flu since that last shot in the military.
-
I haven't had a flu shot since I left the military over 20 years ago and haven't had the flu since. Exercising, living a healthy lifestyle and taking vitamins has prevented me from becoming sick when everyone else around me, who has gotten flu shots and swears by them, is getting really sick. These same people ask "why…

I wanted to respond to say that I personally do cardio walks outside up/down hills, use the Elliptical machine at the gym and easily burn off 1,000 calories a session in the process. Not bragging, just stating a fact. Last Wednesday I exceeded my goal of 1,000 calories in 65 minutes on the Elliptical machine at the gym…

I sit WAY, WAY less than I used to since starting to track my food intake, working out with my trainer and walking. My free time is spent on doing active things, mind and/or body: I started playing piano again after 35 years, reading, sitting and just listening to the rain or birds chirping and cooking healthy weekly meals…

You can add me - I was a product of emotional eating off and on for a long time. I still do it every so often, but will be more than willing to lend a hand.

You can add me if you want. I did roller coaster weight loss for years and years until finding this site/group.

Also: this needs to be a complete lifestyle change, NOT just a diet, and to keep the weight off it has to be permanent, NOT just a new year's resolution. These were mistakes I was making for years in my life, but only corrected recently.
-
The hardest part for me was to start logging in all of my food intake daily, not the working out - I actually had to adjust my carb intake WAY down, which was keeping me from dropping pounds. Logging your meals into this site, water included, is a really good start. You can go from there and tweak everything as needed, but…

I am on this site daily, sometimes twice a day, logging my food intake and just exploring the site. Sending a friend request.

Hi!! I am looking for strength, muscle and lots of stamina because I am planning a major hiking trip also: for me it's Machu Picchu in Peru which is tons of backpacking. I want to make sure I can handle not only how much walking is involved, but also carrying a pack, so I am preparing now. Plan on spending 2 weeks…

I am also working with a personal trainer, twice a week, and it kicks my butt every single time but my body is starting to seriously transform like it never has before. I would love to join you on this journey so we can accomplish our weight loss together and achieve our goals - I have about 25 pounds to lose, so let's do…

I have also yo yoed with dieting for years, which is why I am in the process of completely changing everything in my life because I want to succeed and keep the weight off this time. I'm sending a request.

I am also new to the forum, but have been logging in the app for some time, looking for extra motivation from individuals on here. My body is transforming in the mirror before my eyes because of things I am doing fitness wise, and it is such an awesome feeling!! Add me if you would like.

I have found through bitter experience that many people, including family, don't really support something like this because they get jealous - they say things like "well this is what happens when you get older, just deal with it" or "it's ok, have just one more" or "you look fine, why are you doing this?". To be successful…

I also found it VERY helpful and motivating to write down your exact goals (what would you like to accomplish in a month, 3 months, 6 month and even a year from now - what do you want out of all this?? A healthy lifestyle, to fit back in jeans, be strong and muscular, etc. I wrote everything down, signed, dated, framed and…

Me too!! I made excuses for the past 15 years as to why I can't lose weight and live healthy, and 2 of my favorites were: no money or time - with both of these I just had to juggle around my weekly schedule and monthly finances to make it happen. I cut the cable, lowered my car insurance and did MANY other things so I…
