Instead of hitting Starbucks on the way to my son's soccer game, I made a hot chocolate with half heavy cream and half water....and added cocoa powder and a little swerve. It helped up my fat for the day and I avoided all the deliciousness that may have tempted me. :)

Do you eat dairy? I have heard cutting out that helps for some people. Otherwise, try intermittent fasting. I personally love it.

1) depends on the person. I stick to less than 20 total carbs per day. Most start at 20 net and adjust depending on how their body reacts. 2) that's fine -- just watch your macros on fat and protein. 3) a cheat meal is miserable in my world. I feel like poop for days after. It has set my out of ketosis for days...not worth…

Oh boy...probably the first time my husband and I tried regular low carb MANY MANY years ago. We ate so much bacon. I still have flashbacks anytime I see bacon now. I do eat it on occasion but only if someone else has cooked it for me. I can still remember the type/package we bought at the store.........

I was a carb addict. The only way that I was able to change my behavior was going keto (high fat/low carb). Carbs were a trigger for me to keep eating...and eating...and eating. Everyone is different!

Oh boy...I shouldn't have opened this thread but here it goes. I like to take butter, queso shredded cheese, and cream cheese spinach/artichoke dip...and melt it together. I then take Whisps "crackers" and devour it. It's totally dangerous. BUT I do get my fat in for the day ;)

I'm one of those people that watches what is in my skin products....same with makeup. For a while I was making all of our skin care products, soaps, etc....(nerd alert!). That said, I really love using jojoba oil with a drop of frankincense and copaiba oil. It sounds silly but it was worked wonders in my wrinkles and…

I don't think there is any difference when you do your IF. I tend to do morning as well because I just don't enjoy eating right away when I get up...it has always made me nauseous. Just seemed like the best for my schedule. If I worked either a second or third shift, I would definitely adjust it to work with whatever was…

No, because it is one more thing for me to constantly obsess about...I already try not to think about the scale and checking ketones would just give me another bad habit. But I do know many use the finger stick machines to get accurate readings.

Great job!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone already gave you good info...so I won't repeat. ;) I just wanted to say great job -- it takes a lot of courage to completely change your life 180 and you are doing it. You've got this!

Welcome to our (awesome) group!!!!

I definitely do -- mostly so I can see my macro breakdown because I tend to overeat protein and not take in enough fat.
-
Dairy and vegetables -- I attempt to stay under 20g total carbs but I do let that side if I am really wanting more veggies.
-
I made the mistake of eating a regular carbs meal a while back. I felt like poop for days. I can definitely tell even in small amounts that I accidentally ate something wrong.
-
It depends on who you ask -- it is really easy to over do honey and easy to slip out of ketosis. It really is sugar...so I don't eat it.

Could definitely be the Fenugreek.
-
Agreed -- and I despise the smell.

I thought this same thing when I was eating cucumbers the other day -- I thought I might have been losing it. Another observation -- my daughter was ill and I gave her a chewable ibuprofen. Went to kiss her goodnight and about puked at how sugar-tasting the ibuprofen must have been. I literally was scrubbing my lips off…

I was wondering the same -- our bodies are pretty smart and craving unusual things often means you need more minerals and vitamins in your diet. If it isn't linked to that, I would keep eating it. It's a healthy green that is low in net carbs :)

If you get one, let me know how you like it. I'm always super tempted by those machines...

I'm a total caffeine addict -- I agree I have had less coffee since starting LCHF. But I still love my iced tea and coffee. One battle at a time

Apple Watch - I like the Pillow app for tracking sleep and the vibrating alarm. Calm is a great free app for meditation and guided breathing.

Yep, the release of cortisol under any sort of stress will raise your blood glucose.

It definitely isn't easy....it is super addictive. I loved it. I was working on the road and I think I lived out of convenience stores for so long. Loved diet soda. And sugar in general. There are no true tricks to quitting but at the same time, you can always do anything you set your mind to. I failed many times and…

It is so hard...some people enjoy alcohol, I loved diet soda. You can do it! Stop buying it, have an alternative available, and drink plenty of water!
-
Artificial sweeteners stall me (even the sweeteners that shouldn't raise blood glucose) -- it is a bummer but switching to LaCroix has satisfied my soda need.
-
Oh yum. Definitely going to try this.

We love giving out the miniature halloween Play doh -- kids tend to love it as they get plenty of candy trick or treating :)

Great job!!!!!!!!
